Hi John that's a lovely green I like it. You mentioned 'resonant' ,my brother has a bunch of high end guitars including a Fender Tele and he said my Fazley Coyote Plus Tele is the most resonant guitar he's played in years, just saying!
Fantastic review! Thank you for posting. I've been looking into getting one of these myself. Definitely seems like a good value for the money. Sounds Great!
Money well spent ! You’re enjoying playing that guitar . Tones sound great , the single coil style ones are just the job . John Cordy said on his channel he could gig with one in single coil mode ! Love a PRS , got a Silver Sky SE and a SE 24 Std which do what they say on the tin !! Cheers
Nice one! Lot of similarities to the SE 24-08 I bought a coupla years ago. Like the colour, like the birds, actually prefer satin finishes generally so I reckon you got a beaut with this one!
It won’t be I assure you. Unfortunately us guitarists get bored. There are a million good guitars out there so why not keep moving them on. This is why I’ve stuck with my gibsons. I love em they save me money not buying any more guitars.
Pretty teal coloured 2024 SE CE Standard Satin, sounds great wit the BluG amp! I don't mind those 85/15S pups in my 2024 SE Swamp Ash but I might be tempted to swap them at some point.
I have a American ce 24 and if I was back in the 90's gigging most weekends it would be my go to gig guitar it's so versatile and cuts really well and is fantastic
I’ve only owned one PRS which I sent back - actually because I didn’t like the guitar, but luckily the bog uk retailer I bought it from had listed it as having a coil tap, which it didn’t, so they arranged collection. The reason I don’t like PRS guitars is the same reason they’re so good - they’re over-designed, like a guitar designed by a focus group. They’re so easy to play which I don’t actually like - I know it sounds weird, but I like to fight a bit with my guitars.
Very nice. I wound up going for a McCarty 594 SE and love it. Glad I did it. I used to have the 85/15 S pickups in a Floyd Rose CU24 and I didn't particularly care for the neck pickup. Then I got a CE24 and I really liked it, but again, the neck pickup was not my favorite. I later got an SE CU 24/08, and I didn't bond with that either. That convinced me that I was not an 85/15 guy. The 58/15 LT pickups are great and whether it's the position of the neck pickup or the low turns, it just became usable (finally). I liked this one so much, I looked for an S2 model, but they were literally unlisted from Sweetwater at the time. Come to find out that PRS was redesigning the whole S2 line and now they come with the same electronics and hardware as the Core models! So, tomorrow, I've got an S2 arriving. As soon as I hung up with my Sweetwater rep about the McCarty SE, I saw PRS had dropped videos and talked about the new S2 line and what I thought I might have to do (buy core pickups and put them in the SE) was a non-issue. I'll have the S and Core versions to compare side-by-side and if I prefer the cores, I'll purchase them, but if I don't hear a difference in my rig, then I'll just leave the guitars as they are. Only time will tell. Congrats again on the new axe!
I've got the cherry version...and for the price im extremely happy..versatile with the coil splitting with sustain for days... great tone.. takes pedals like a champ..i like it more every day...the birds aren't ugly to me at least 😅
That name, though ... and people complain about Gretsch naming. Two brands that I love the tone control implementation are PRS and Gretsch. Very consistent and you can hear the EQ shift at any position. And I'm loving that green ( says the guy with a green Gibson LP Std, Green Epi Joe Bonamassa LTD, Green Gretsch Duo Jet, Green 76 Strat, and Green faced Uke).
Nice guitar John. I have a PRS SE Standard 24, similar except for the bolt on neck. I like the standards - without the Liberace maple ha ha. I can live with the pigeons though.
I have a set neck SE Custom 24, which doesn't sound as 'fat' as this in humbucker mode, particularly the neck pickup. I also have a Fender Player Series HSH Strat, which sounds much more how I expect a humbucker equipped instrument to sound.
Good to see that PRS are now offering slim wide radius necks, i have only own one and the neck was like a Fenders baseball bat neck way too thick and chunky for me, hence why i prefer Ibanez necks. Would i buy another PRS SE, i doubt it, time will tell how long John keeps this one.
If I had to predict what you were gasing for, that would be it... my only criticism is that I think they've changed the method for the bolt-on neck so that it is a more utilitarian design (like that of a Fender) so that it doesn't detract from what I would say is a better design on the original CE models. Last thing Smith would do is damage his sales figures for his more expensive offerings, he's first and foremost a salesman, for which reason... well, you know my thoughts on that...
Harley Benton don't make a version of this guitar. The HB CST24 is a copy of the PRS Custom 24 which has a set neck. This is a bolt on, so it's not a like for like comparison
I have to be brutally honest and say ; it isn't a guitar that appeals to me visually / aesthetically BUT when you are playing it, John, my verdict is totally different ( for it sounds wonderful .... maybe something to do with your fingers and ability ? ) so, ignoring my preconceived, biased taste buds and simply diving into the meal, I have to say ; I am more than adequately satiated 👌🙏
I keep trying to tell myself i can live with that headstock but even after all these years I remain unconvinced. Paul Reed Smith may claim it gives better tuning stability but did it have to be so fugly?
Nicely done sir! We are working hard to make our best. Glad it is appreciated. #WeMakePRS

Lovely sounding guitar , it's not a Gibson or a strat , but it has its own individual personality, should be a long term keeper !

Pretty good value guitar for that price. You can see this being someone's only guitar or main guitar very easily.
I have a American ce 24 and if I was back in the 90's gigging most weekends it would be my go to gig guitar it's so versatile and cuts really well and is fantastic

Nice guitar for the money. Very versatile. Especially liked the sigle coil tones and the middle position with both humbuckers.

Love it John - if I was looking for a new guitar, I'd be seeking out one of these.
I actually quite like the birdies

Nice colour! Mind you, seeing John buy a PRS with bird inlays is hard to swallow 🥁 (I am sorry 🙄)
That PRS guitar sounds fantastic, quite like the colour as well 👍🎸😄

way too thick and chunky for me, hence why i prefer Ibanez necks.

Guitar looks and sounds great.
The guitar I was hoping it would be! It didn't disappoint.😃
of the countless guitars I've bought/sold...my SE Custom is among the most playable...and with SD JBs...among the best sounding.

Congrats on the new guitar, even though it’s just a PRS. 😜
Happy NGD 👍
This one is strictly for the birds!😁👍
"Ba Dum!" (drum noises) ROFL! 👍
The hype got you!
Afraid so 🤣
Nice guitar!
I like how you call them racing pigeons. You know dang well each bird is a different breed! Hence your disrespectful joke haha
Sounds very versatile. This one might be a keeper?
For now... We'll see 👍
How's it compare to the H.B. version.
Harley Benton don't make a version of this guitar. The HB CST24 is a copy of the PRS Custom 24 which has a set neck. This is a bolt on, so it's not a like for like comparison
@@JRobsonGuitar Okay, I didn't realize that. 👍

Did you ditch the HB CST24 ?. Is this a much better guitar ?
The CST24 went a long time ago
I keep trying to tell myself i can live with that headstock but even after all these years I remain unconvinced. Paul Reed Smith may claim it gives better tuning stability but did it have to be so fugly?
Paul RS is obnoxious. Can’t stand him. But I like his guitars !
I'm really gassing for a McCarthy, I don't need another term to go out of tune
At least it’s not Argentinian Racing Pigeons 🤣
Im sure Jack Duckworth wouldnt say no to the racing pigeons
John It’s got Pigeons on the fret board 😂🤣🍺
Don't mention the pigeons!
Yes unfortunately
I think they're tits
As long as there's no pigeon droppings it's all good LOL!
