  • After a week of cold weather, Blue Line Outfitters takes a Sunday afternoon to fish Smith Creek DH. Lots of fishing pressure and low clear water make for "tough sledding" and every fish is earned.

I appreciate ya sharing this. I was there last week and got my first trout on the fly, just missed another. Helps boost my confidence knowing that was no easy task even for a pro!

Jason congratulations on the first trout on the fly. It’s a milestone you don’t forget. With the cold water temps Smiths has been tough for most everyone. If you can be the first to fish a pool on any given day it definitely ups your odds. Fishing them late in the weekend in the afternoon definitely makes it a worthy challenge. I remember when I started I fished all day and caught 2-3 and felt pretty accomplished with my fly rod skills. 😂😂. Keep after it and the fishing will only get better as we head into spring. Thanks for watching.

Actually a real important video to show. As you said, realistic and the joy of hooking a fish, no matter the size, species or number is why we do it.

Thanks for the kind words. It has honestly been accepted better than I had hoped. We all love those 50 fish days but anyone who fishes a lot is gonna have some tough days. Especially in the winter. Thanks for watching.

Throw it way back to the Primos early days. This ain’t Hollywood it’s the truth. I do like the hunting public and that hoody is super comfy. I wear it a lot. 😂

Good stuff, Hamp! I haven't been there in several years. Back when we still had trout season, I would go there on those 45 degree days in Jan. and February to start tuning up for the opener. Wanted my hook set up to par. Lol

Hey Jeff good to hear from you. I really think it use to fish a lot better. The last several years when I have fished it, it was a challenge. Maybe just more pressure and less fish with everything going on in the world these days.

So can u keep trout here may 15-October 31 when the delayed harvest restrictions don’t apply and I’m trying to find out the ga trout regulations because ive heard 22 inches for rainbow and browns and 18 inches for brooks but I’m pretty sure it’s only for waters creek so I idk

    • @bluelineoutfitters3964

Yes you can keep 8 fish any size during that time period. The regs you posted are for waters creek. Some other streams have special regs but for the majority it’s 8 fish a day no size limit. The regs are online or a lot of fishing stores will have a hard copy.
