You just save me from a possibly depression! I love you, god bless you, you deserve the best of this planet, i hope you win the lottery and everything else!
I have an Alienware PC with a RTX 2060 and 128 GB of RAM and my computer *still* decided to end its misery. I'm kind of at a loss right now. Edit: OKAY OKAY THIS IS CRAZY BUT THE SECOND I FINISHED TYPING THIS IT FINALLY SUBDIVIDED!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! XOXOXO
nice one, still works. my mesh isnt even dense at all and for other objects i can use the modifier but for some reason it randomly kept crashing instantly. thanks for the fix!
I have 16GB of RAM. I’m not sure if RAM is your issue, have you tried using your graphics card to process subdivisions? I’m not super techy so I’m not entirely sure what I can suggest 🤪 I’m sure that you could subdivide at least to 8 without many issues.
I'm not entirely sure... but I think having GPU subdivision means the GPU will calculate the new sub levels whereas if you toggle that off maybe the CPU (more reliable?) will compute the sub-level.
I was wondering why the subdivide modifier stopped working for me. Turns out the new version enables GPU subdivision by default & I have a terrible GPU (2GB VRAM hahaha). Thanks!

@@lucaspont6659 that’s so weird. I wonder if disabling other modifiers before you subdivide helps? Regardless, I’m glad this video helped you out 😄
Thank

thanks for your apport works 4.0!
You are welcome!
Hi there, thanks for the solution. That dino looks sick. How much memory do you have on your system?
I have 14700kf rtx4070super and 32gb of ram. I am trying to subdivide a 10 subdivision icosphere for an art project. Do you think I need more rams?

You are wonderful! I wonder why that happends

Oh and you're welcome :)

Oh noooo 2GB 😆 Yes! Such a hidden little feature. Glad this helped!
