The video was a good guide and helped with my own installation, but like me, others may need to search a little more for other missing info. Just installed this on my 2023 m3 standard range. Compared to the m3 in the video, 2023 m3s had 7-10mm bolts on the frunk, in which 2 are covered by the latch cover. In addition, the headlight connector is covered/protected by the steel body frame, where a small flathead screwdriver helped out a lot. Also the fog lights uses 25mm torx and not 30mm. It's now shown in the video but the driver side installation is much more difficult to do than the passenger side. Lastly, if you have the standard fog lights, i suggest you keep them and pass on this aftermarket item. This product is only a good upgrade if your m3, does not have fog lights. Good luck on your install.
Another great job, Shiva. My main concern is that the fog lights wouldn't be as directed as the OEM fogs, which are in projector housings, i believe. Pretty cool though.
You always give the viewer a great perspective, of how to add the accessories, and with your invaluable knowledge make your video so interesting absolutely outstanding ❤
@SivaSaptkota Another great video! I think it's really cool looking, my only concern would be the fact that you pointed out how bright it is. Often fog lights are at a certain intensity, and even color to stop from having a white light reflect back in your face against the fog. I get the idea of moving the light lower to be under, the fog, but depending on where you live, that rarely happens and an intense fog, I worry that this could be too bright. Have you left it in your car? And have you experienced this in super foggy conditions yet?
These look great but the issue is you lose rhe amber side redlector from the original light that alerts incoming cross traffic specilaly at night. Federal DOT states that all cars must have amber reflectors on both sides of the front of the car. They must be visible from the front and sides. I wish they would put a reflector on the edge just like the original so it meets regulation and maintain safety.
Ok Caren! By switching to aftermarket you are already non compliant since this are not DOT approved, reflector or not. Now move along and keep it all stock if you want to be compliant.
@shivasapkota you are from PA. Do you have any recommendations for places to get my Tesla modified in PA? I have an X and there are some installs I do not want to do myself. I am near Philadelphia.
Hi Shiva, I plan to install a wifi front bumper camera which I will access using my phone. Is it a good idea to splice the fog light harness to power the camera? Do you know where I can purchase the splice kit? The camera can be powered by the 12v battery but I don't want to keep draining the battery by connecting it directly to the battery terminals. Thanks
I haven't seen any headlight splice kits yet. Even if they had it, I believe the power is only activated when the headlight is activated. You can however pass the wire through the firewall and use a Y connector that they make to plug into the A-pillar that has 12V. I have spliced that 12V plug for other purposes.
@@ShivaSapkota I intend to turn on the wifi cam only when I need it. The camera has 6 LEDs for night vision which are operated on sunlight sensors. I'm worried about battery drain overnight if I don't turn the camera off. Since I don't use the fog lights 99% of the time, I wanted to use the OEM touch screen button for the fog lights to turn on/off the wifi cam. Will this splitter on Amazon work for my intended use? Amazon product: 2 in 1 Deutsch Dual DT Adapter Connector Splitters Plug Y-Shape Wiring for Fog Work Light Retrofit LED Work Chandelier Light Retrofit Connectors Wiring Harness
I like the new adaptive lights from hanshow with the cornering light and indicators and easy installation with the connector to the headlamp. More functionality than these....
Did you remove the camera harness during install? This process shouldn't require that but if you go to service, hit camera calibration and clear calibration, it should fix the issue.
Depends on the model style fog you get. It only comes with two wires into the harness from the unit. Some have a third wire cut that you need to splice into and connect. That’s what the manufacturer told me. The item description states DRL capability but they lied. Also some model Y if you are updated software is 2023.32.4 or higher, that harness may not work. Didn’t on mine. Waste of time and money. I had to still splice into turn signal.
Well I was just going to spend my $$$ on SEXY buttons... BUT I then find your video... SEXY buttons will wait because these fog lights will help my 3 Long-range look super sexy. Thank you for the great video
The vendor says yes. I couldn't get it to work on 2018 M3 but they changed the headlight plug starting sometime in 2019. So, my guess is yes but please double check with them. Thanks.
I have a 22 m3 Sr and just installed it and it does work. I need to wait until the daytime tomorrow to see if these are true daytime running lights or if they are active when the headlights are active
Couple things, you can install this while the tire is turned inward, but it is tight. Secondly, the lights do not stay on during the day time, once the headlight activates/or is ON (or your setting is set to auto for headlights), the foglight will then activate. When they are active, they look great.
@@jibneh.DRL may not work. Needs a third wire that is cut by the manufacturer from the unit to the harness (not the headlight piggy back harness). If your lucky the wire may be still there poking out to splice into. I tried but some teslas with 2023.32.4 software like mine may not recognize the headlight piggy back harness. So I can’t tell you if it works. Did yours?

deleting the fog light makes this a no go for me
Doesn’t say anywhere on website it works with Model 3 STD range
Yeah, would like to improve this on my stock M3 RWD.

Thanks, wonderful!!! Is it available for mod Y rwd 2022?

Are the OEM brighter on the road since they are more of a projection light versus these aftermarket (flood light)
This is pretty cool. The only thing I don't like is the blinker isn't sequential to the OEM blinker.
But now you don’t have fog lights.
Just Daylights and turn signals.
Fog lights is more important and gives you more light at night road
These look great. Given the run off the headlight, does this mean the fog light on/off control no longer works?

Can I just change the fog light to amber and not use the blinker function?
yes, you can. Just don't connect yellow wire

If I install this on my model y, would I lose my fog lights?
can i install it in 2023 Model 3 RWD ?
How do you flush black trim that you had to take off a little to get to the headlight??

for teslas model 3 before 2021, like mine from 2018 M3P, does the instalation or wire change ??? thanks in advance
Does it works on rwd model Y, without fog lights?
This was great!
Is it possible active in screnn obly front fog?

I would wait for the alpha Rex version coming out soon. Cost more but they are working out those bugs Tesla puts out to block after market lighting.

did anyone else wince and cringe every time he dropped the light with the lens side down? cmon
Meh

Why? Weird.
