Malaysia (Sarawak) how do you guys feel? You're in a very safe and welcoming country/state Bro. The people's are down to earth, respectful and, they respect foreigners without taking advantage of them. In the 90's I was the Tour Operator (Longhouse Discovery Tours & Agency) and have been to many places/Long houses in the interior of Sarawak.

Love to follow you both and crew for the longhouse visit. Lots and lots of tuak drinking over there as well as that unique cheering of oooooooha. Another interesting visit to a kampung. The shop-house mimics a cave, they play the bird sound thru a loud speakers to attract the swallow to come into the shop houses and built their nest there. The bird nest is a precious commodity, very expensive and they're full of health/medicinal values (collagen is one of them).
To harvest the nest in the natural environment, it is very dangerous to do so. The birds built their nests high in the caves, about 50 feet maybe even more. And the ladder they used, was made with bamboos and very rickety, so it's easier to have make those nests in the second or 3rd floor of the shop houses.

The recorded bird sounds attract the swiftlets to the buildings where they will build their nests (with their saliva). They harvest the nests for the priceless bird's nests for export - very lucrative business and not so dangerous compared to harvesting them from the caves, Niah &Mulu.

Nu am auzit in viata mea de "bitong". Probabil e un regionalism!
"Dicționaru limbii românești dă următoarea definitie pentru bitong:
    bitóng vezi bitang.
    Definiție sursă: Dicționaru limbii românești"
    "bitóng, ~ă a vz bitang
sursa: MDA2 (2010) adăugată de blaurb. acțiuni
    bitóng V. bitang.
sursa: Scriban (1939) adăugată de blaurb. acțiuni "
    "bitang, bitangi substantiv masculin
    bitangă, bitange substantiv feminin
    1. regional adesea (și) adjectival Copil nelegitim.
    sinonime: bastard bastard natural nelegitim
