In Malaysia if you wanna fill the gas by cash you need to go to the counter tell which pump, ron95 and just says full tank/how many ringgit you want...the reason why we have to leave a deposit or pay cash first because there were many cases where people just runaway and didnt pay for the gas..poor for the workers they gonna have to pay for that with their own salary

The reason you were required to pay first before a full tank fill up was probably bcos she knew you were a tourist. And you could abscond and just leave the country.

U guys will encounter roads under construction, always make sure u fill up petrol @ gasoline full since some places its hard to find gas station and even some places got no phone coverage...if u guys need to stop for toilet or any emergency... Go to the nearest longhouse u can find ask for help (this is through my experience).. I hope u guys enjoy the road trip and i hope can meet you guys along the way.do drive carefully ok
