I will definitely back this on Kickstarter as I don’t have a Marseille deck so this will be my first. It looks absolutely gorgeous quality.

You did such a great review of this deck! I’m new to Tarot, and don’t know anything about Marseille except they exist and are pip style and I do like the style/art. I learned a lot in your walk through, and it was fascinating to see the different versions of the same deck, and how you pointed out some of the choices Artisan Tarot made. It’s such a beautiful version! I saw a review of this deck on one other channel before watching yours, thought it was pretty, but your video brought it to life. I paused and went to Kickstarter to back it. Even after telling myself I need to give Kickstarter a break for awhile. Sigh. But this really is a special deck, and I’m happy it will be my first Marseille. Thank you. :)
Oh! Thank you! I always try to weave in a lesson, thought provoking quip, or bit of esoteric knowledge in all of my reviews to help showcase things are that are just so much more than a 'thing'. really fabulous! and i must say, I love it when you say "remember, everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about, so be kind" i apologize if i got any of the words wrong. but that is the most compassionate thing i've ever heard, & put in the most succint way . One time, right after my father died, I had go to the drugstore for something. I was standing in line, realizing that no one realized at all what I had just been through... and then I realized that everyone I see, everywhere, always, may be going through something that I know Nothing about, just like you say... so I just want to thank you for putting that out there in your vids.

Thank you so much for this flipthrough and comparison! I absolutely love the Conver and have a couple of Conver-based decks, but I cannot shake my attraction to the Artisan Tarot copy as a workhorse.
And I want to thank Artisan Tarot for not having a copyright anywhere on their cards!!

In the left-right comparison, I agree that better (as well as more modern) taste is often evident in the Artisan deck. The line work is softer and the color choices are intelligent and more practical. Of course, some may prefer the aged look of the set on the right to the clean and fresh look on the left. However, there's one thing I prefer about the deck on the right: the clothes have a coarse texture that looks more like fabric. Of course, the Tarot is about representation rather than realism, but some of the old-fashioned artistry has been lost, although I understand the aesthetic rationale. I didn't see the name of the deck on the right, and couldn't distinctly hear what you called it.
You have to remember the deck on the right, the Yves Reynaud facsimile, is basically a high quality photo copy of a 350 year old deck. The original printing may have been more crisp and clean for example, but showcases a time worn deck that was hand crafted as opposed to digitally drawn and mechanically printed with a computer. I too, often, much prefer the facsimile style decks for the artistry, character, and vintage aesthetic. :)

I really tried to talk myself out of this deck… I already have 4 versions of the Conver… LOL but this just looks so good! I did end up backing it and can’t wait to get it! I loved your conversation and especially the side by side comparison!

So sad I was too late for the kickstarter....cant wait to get this when they release for purchase hopefully in October! I've not found another marseilles deck I like as much as this (yet)
