Still jammin on this song? I have some ghostbumps goin on right now. I'm glad I came here again to clear em out and capture them forever as a moment in time. Thanks for your comment. I agree 110 I hope you are well, Sir.
Best song from the entire Ghostbusters soundtrack. People always gleefully start singing the Ray Parker Jr theme while recalling the movie. But THIS was the tune I fell in love with the moment it played!
Awesome. The Mecca of Ghostheads everywhere. It’s cool that they have the GBII logo inside the firehall and a variation of GB1 on the ground outside. The New York Public Library is another site to see. Those lions outside during the day set the scene.
The scene in the film has so many amazing cinema tricks in it. After the earthquake that almost killed them, when they climb over the rubble and walk a full body taller than the crowd, it puts a chill through your body. Basically a group of science nerds taking on supernatural crap.
This song is absolutely amazing. It’s the very essence of Ghostbusters…. Jason Reitman, if you ever read this…. you gotta reprise it for the next Ghostbusters movie. I love this song & I love Ghostbusters!!! 👻🚫
YES!!!!! I’ve been looking for this version for DECADES!!!!! The soundtrack version Doesn’t have that nice little hook after the first chorus, THANK YOU!!!
With the iconic background music from the original Ghostbusters......wish they would have got this one worked into the final battle scene in Ghostbusters Afterlife. Would have been fitting when Pete, Dan, and Winston showed up.
They were ahead of their time, great track for a great scene , I can vision the Ecto 1 being escorted down Central Park west sirens blazing every time I hear this
Literally the moment I get absolutely PUMPED UP in the movie. The boys mean business. “Ghostbusters” and “Savin’ the Day” are the song MVPs of the soundtrack (along with Bernstein’s incredible score). Just epic!
Hearing this live and performed by The Alessi Bros in front of the firehouse on Ghostbusters Day in June was such a privilege. Got to meet them afterwards too!!!
C'MON!! LET'S RUN SOME RED LIGHTS!!! Gozer: Fuck, why do I hear boss music... *ECTO-I comes blasting through the portal, all guns full stream* GOZER has left the game.
1:28 Hello, New York! (mwah mwah) Hello, everybody! Whoa. Dr. Ray Stantz. Would you please? The heart of the Ghostbusters. Thank you. They love you. They love you here. I like that shirt, friend.
Just re-watched origional movie on preparation to go see the new one (2021) and had totally forgotten about this banger. Such a good song generally but sets up the final confrontation with zool perfectly. All the eighties dance moves coming out.
I know!!! I was waiting eagerly for this one to kick off the final battle with Gozer when Pete, Dan, and Winston showed up.........with all the throw backs and easter eggs from the original I was let down this jam didn't make it into Afterlife.
[intro] Ooh, see the danger signs Sneaking up from behind Kinda like someone's telling you what to say Looks like you've lost control Something growing on your soul See it coming from a mile away [chorus] Savin' the day Savin' the day When you're getting to the point where it's driving you insane [chorus#2] Savin' the day Savin' the day [follow up #2] You seem a little strange Something about you not the same Nowhere to hide from the feeling running through my veins It was the frightening truth That way just ain't no youth Baby, you got the will, you got the way [chorus] Savin' the day Savin' the day Speak of the past, they slip in the back way Savin' the day Savin' the day When it's getting to the point where it's driving you insane Savin' the day Savin' the day [hook] When you're getting to the point where it's driving you insane When it starts to pour and the whole thing's out of control [solo] And you can't run away if you don't know where to go Don't know, don't know You can't leave it till tomorrow You can't leave it till tomorrow Don't know, don't know In the dance with Stay-Puft you gotta have it 'fore you're surrendering [hook#2] Savin' the day Savin' the day Speak of the past, they slip in the back way Savin' the day Savin' the day Ooh, when it's getting to the point where it's driving you insane [chorus #2] Savin' the day You can't wait, you can't wait until tomorrow Savin' the day You can't wait, you can't wait until tomorrow [outro] Savin' the day You can't wait Savin' the day You can't wait, you can't wait until tomorrow
Hartlepool would make an interesting video. The terrace house areas around Dent Street, whilst ok in the morning, are a bit dodgy. Some nice bits in Hartlepool but quite some right stuff gone in around those terrace streets over the years. One of the cheapest places to buy a house in the UK alongside Nelson!
I have! It’s the entrance to the New York City Municipal Building and it is by the Brooklyn Bridge. Very close to the court buildings by the Brooklyn Bridge station on the 4 5 6
Your welcome. If you mean by exactly the same as the one played in the movie its yes and no. While the song did play out the extended horn 01:32 - 2:01 like the movie does, the next part was suppose to have no more vocal but instead this song is extended. The music part can be found by the end of the music 04:30. Check out the movie scene for comparison: ua-cam.com/video/mNuG25oq_b0/v-deo.html
Thank you for replying! Yes, I noticed that difference myself. But is one of the movie edit's on the CD the same as the version in the movie? Because even if you splice the two sections of this version together it will still have a vocal that isn't in the film.
Unfortunately this is as close as it gets. The other track on the CD is reedited but with vocal still intact and the music cue when the Ghostbusters managed to crawl out of the rubble.
I assume when the movie was scored they were working with the master tracks and could remove vocals etc and edit it as wished. This is *fantastic* to hear though and I highly doubt there will ever be a "better" version. I just wish it was available for digital download so I could get this one track in lossless format. Thanks again!
I'll add my thanks to the others for posting this! From a young age I noticed the differences between the soundtrack version and the movie version. The section from 1:23 - 1:26 was the first difference and I've searched for audio versions of the track containing that few seconds for years!
One of the best F$&K YEAH moments in cinematic history!! The sound of the Ecto-1 sirens against this will give me chills forever
Fuck yea, dude. 🙌 Drinking some IPAs and grooving to this heroic shit! Amazing.
Facts.
TOTALLY BROTHER.....👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Well said brother
Come on let’s run some red lights!!
Thank you Egon. You saved millions and The world misses you

Venkman: "Come on. Let's run some red lights!"
This is the ONLY version as far as i'm concerned. HELLO NEW YORK !!!!
“Come on, let’s run some red lights”
Let's run some red lights!!
This song sums up what The Ghostbusters are all about, Heading into the unknown, putting their lives on the line to save NYC and the world.
Agreed
@CR055F1RE yeah, but what a ride - Ray Stantz
Most Badass Going Into Battle Scene Ever
First responders
2016 has nothing on the orginal. "Every version there is... or ever was."
This is ghostbusters summed up in 1 song still gives me goosebumps to this day 👍
GOOOSEBUMPS!!!!!
Iconic scene in American cinema.
Yeahh when the ghostbusters arrives to central park to control the situation, escorted by the army and the police
I love that scene
Still jammin on this song? I have some ghostbumps goin on right now. I'm glad I came here again to clear em out and capture them forever as a moment in time. Thanks for your comment. I agree 110 I hope you are well, Sir.
No spirit' allowed..
Anyone else felt the need to make the Ecto-1 Siren sound over this song or was it just me?
Exactly, same me at 00:27 ! "C'mon let's run some red lights!"
back off man i m a scientist
Hahahaha! So true!
It happens every time…
In my mind.
Heroes are usually found on UA-cam giving us extended versions of our favorite classic ost songs… with the riffs we want
Indeed.
While Spotify simply removes it. Word.
Best song from the entire Ghostbusters soundtrack.
People always gleefully start singing the Ray Parker Jr theme while recalling the movie. But THIS was the tune I fell in love with the moment it played!
Agree this is a great tune
I love it too!
Well, I bought the cassette back in the day with the goal of being able to listen 'Magic'.
Magic is a great one too @@therookpiece
Went I visited the gb headquarters in nyc from the U.K. I played this song out loud!!! My gf was embarrassed but I had a little tear in my eye
Haha king ❤️👊😆
Awesome. The Mecca of Ghostheads everywhere. It’s cool that they have the GBII logo inside the firehall and a variation of GB1 on the ground outside. The New York Public Library is another site to see. Those lions outside during the day set the scene.
I love you
Love you man ❤❤❤
Hell yeah!
This version is the best...it has the blips and the beeps
The bleeps and the sweeps
😅hahaha Michael Winslow in spaceballs good one 😅
This song slaps unnaturally hard
Would you say "SUPERnaturally "?
The scene in the film has so many amazing cinema tricks in it. After the earthquake that almost killed them, when they climb over the rubble and walk a full body taller than the crowd, it puts a chill through your body. Basically a group of science nerds taking on supernatural crap.
Ghosts should know Not to fuck with The GHOSTBUSTERS.
Well, 3 science nerds and one blue collared brotha working to get that paycheck.
@@lupinvash3 amen 🤣
This song needs to be on Spotify
Gotta run, gotta date with a ghost! Whatever happens let’s be professionals
Without doubt the best track from the movie
Up there’s with, I believe in magic
Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the instrument , the drum, the guitar bass AMAZINGGGGGGG. The old songs was the best
Love this version because this is the version that plays during the famous scene in the movie compared to the version on the soundtrack.
👍👍👍👻😎😉
1:21 I can literally hear the siren and screech of Ecto-1's tires right there in my head. Haha!
This song is absolutely amazing. It’s the very essence of Ghostbusters…. Jason Reitman, if you ever read this…. you gotta reprise it for the next Ghostbusters movie. I love this song & I love Ghostbusters!!! 👻🚫
Yes!
Instead of the horrendous shite that it’s now become
"God, I love this town!"
This song is so fucking '80s New York City, I can't even...
One of the best feel good tracks ever from the 80's .makes you feel yeehay good! And full of energy! ! 😊
It's hitting up there with the Rocky sounds on motivation and feel 👍
YES!!!!! I’ve been looking for this version for DECADES!!!!! The soundtrack version Doesn’t have that nice little hook after the first chorus, THANK YOU!!!
it is that subtle guitar riff that is in this version that you are probably taking a shine to....
Yes, the one I add in to all the other versions mentally or vocally.
"Come on, let's run some red lights!"
I used to get goosebumps as a kid seeing all those police cars with Ecto 1 with this song playing.
With the iconic background music from the original Ghostbusters......wish they would have got this one worked into the final battle scene in Ghostbusters Afterlife. Would have been fitting when Pete, Dan, and Winston showed up.
They were ahead of their time, great track for a great scene , I can vision the Ecto 1 being escorted down Central Park west sirens blazing every time I hear this
It's epic! "So, they wanna play rough?"
Ahead of their time? No, they couldn’t have been any more perfectly embedded at the right time.
This jam's a work of art
Listen to the horn section and the arrangements ! I’m loving it!!!
Every time I hear this song can't stop having the image of heading into the unknown with my particle wand at the ready.
"We've got work to do, now what do ya you need from me"
"We came, we saw, we kicked it's ass!"
Just let us kick some ghost will ya
We might have to put in a little overtime in on this one!
That’s the real intro to the track in my mind. 🤣
(Loud yells from national guard)
Hello New York ! ! ! !
I really like this version to put in my proton pack
Hell yeah! The Ghostbusters going down the street with police escort and the entire city cheering them on! Epic use of this classic!
Please use this in the new movie Jason Reitman.✌️♥️
"looks like you lost control"
That one line alone is absolute bliss
Brilliant cover art! Can you imagine them doing the Ghostbusters 2 dance 😂?
I remember seeing this when i was 5 years old and the moment this song came on as the Ghostbusters got out of the Ecto-1 was fckn everything!!!!
The Original Ghostbusters Are Back !!!!!
I pray there is 80s music in it!
C'MON!! LET'S RUN SOME RED LIGHTS!!!
Gozer: Fuck, why do I hear boss music...
*ECTO-I comes blasting through the portal, all guns full stream*
GOZER has left the game.
1:28 Hello, New York! (mwah mwah) Hello, everybody! Whoa. Dr. Ray Stantz. Would you please? The heart of the Ghostbusters. Thank you. They love you. They love you here. I like that shirt, friend.
"aaalriiiight, aaalriiiight!"
Whatever happens, let's be professionals...
Gotta run! Got a date with a ghost!
I love the shot of the high rise shooting out flames as this plays
Love these feel good 80s type tracks. Today it’s all so serious. 80s was a decade to dream and make things happen. I miss these times
Just re-watched origional movie on preparation to go see the new one (2021) and had totally forgotten about this banger.
Such a good song generally but sets up the final confrontation with zool perfectly.
All the eighties dance moves coming out.
Just re-watched? I watch this like 5 times a year haha
the most badass song from the most badass scene in ghostbusters!
this is a message from Jesus Christ. You cant die. Now Go with Jesus.
Hello New York!
A great track. Shame its not in Afterlife!
I know!!! I was waiting eagerly for this one to kick off the final battle with Gozer when Pete, Dan, and Winston showed up.........with all the throw backs and easter eggs from the original I was let down this jam didn't make it into Afterlife.
Saving the Day is a New York Song.
"Hello New York!"
Gotta run! Got a date with a ghost...
Today's music is all about negativity. This is why 80s music is so refreshing even now
“Ray Stantz the heart of the Ghostbusters…. “.
RIP Harold Ramis
This song!🥳
C’mon let’s run some red lights!
Thanks GR for sharing this Jewel 💎 .. ❤80’s
First time hearing this version more of this song is never a bad idea
This song played you knew sh** was bout to get real!
Still a tuuune in 2021!
LETS RUN SUM RED LIGHTS- Dr. Peter Venkman
1:27 “Hello New York”
It’s ok, it’s alright we can take it. They wanna play rough!
That was my quote from the movie. 😂
"Come on, let's run some red lights here."
Remember the Dirt Farmer.
This song needs to drop on the Ghostbusters: Afterlife soundtrack or I'll be disappointed.
Truth!
The go to on YT!
Is there a better song to go with one of the best scenes in the best movie of all time? No way.
Intense version. You didn't get that one with the OST cassette tape
Imagine playing this song at a low volume. Impossible
Awww I saw Ghostbusters Afterlife in the cinema when Harold Ramis "Egon Spengler's" ghost at the end I cried xx
These were the avengers of the 80s
[intro]
Ooh, see the danger signs
Sneaking up from behind
Kinda like someone's telling you what to say
Looks like you've lost control
Something growing on your soul
See it coming from a mile away
[chorus]
Savin' the day
Savin' the day
When you're getting to the point
where it's driving you insane
[chorus#2]
Savin' the day
Savin' the day
[follow up #2]
You seem a little strange
Something about you not the same
Nowhere to hide from the feeling
running through my veins
It was the frightening truth
That way just ain't no youth
Baby, you got the will, you got the way
[chorus]
Savin' the day
Savin' the day
Speak of the past, they slip in the back way
Savin' the day
Savin' the day
When it's getting to the point
where it's driving you insane
Savin' the day
Savin' the day
[hook]
When you're getting
to the point where it's driving you insane
When it starts to pour
and the whole thing's out of control
[solo]
And you can't run away
if you don't know where to go
Don't know, don't know
You can't leave it till tomorrow
You can't leave it till tomorrow
Don't know, don't know
In the dance with Stay-Puft you gotta have
it 'fore you're surrendering
[hook#2]
Savin' the day
Savin' the day
Speak of the past,
they slip in the back way
Savin' the day
Savin' the day
Ooh, when it's getting to the point
where it's driving you insane
[chorus #2]
Savin' the day
You can't wait, you can't wait until tomorrow
Savin' the day
You can't wait, you can't wait until tomorrow
[outro]
Savin' the day
You can't wait
Savin' the day
You can't wait, you can't wait until tomorrow
I could imagine responding to a fire while this is playing in the cab of the engine, no doubt.

"HELLO NEW YORK!"
“Ghostbusters, alright!”
Mayor: Alright we got work to do..now whatta need from me?..
(Cue the song)...
"Ray Stanz the heart of the Ghostbusters..They love you"
Has anyone ever been to the area where this plays when Ecto-1 was heading out? Isn't it near the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge?
I have! It’s the entrance to the New York City Municipal Building and it is by the Brooklyn Bridge. Very close to the court buildings by the Brooklyn Bridge station on the 4 5 6
Legendary.
Love.
Thanks for sharing.

Me, a filthy jojo fan: here because of the alessi music vid
I was 13 years old then
Oh my gosh I m dying
Original old school no issues just fun movie song.
GHOSTBUSTERS ALRIGHT ALRIGHT!!!
Ever since I had first listened to the Ghostbusters album, I have wondered why the film version of this song wasn't used for it instead.
“HELLO NEW YORK!”
#Ghostbusters1984Forever
Good job...

We need a version with Ecto-1’s siren
Time to run some red lights
GHOSTBUSTERS!!! GHOSTBUSTERS!!! GHOSTBUSTERS!!!
Came here after watching Mst3kforever playing Call Of Cthulhu: Dark Corners Of The Earth. I totally forgot this was in the Ghostbusters soundtrack.
