What if the game crashes because of the HD,can you fix that so it wont,also is it possible for it to make other games crash,i dont understand computers so i dont know,i got a black screen on one game,since i got the HD,has never happend befor?

Currently, due to holidays and the recent content patch, it is in a hackfix state, with many new NPCs and character customizations appearing a tad buggy as the patch had been prior to Astricon joining the project. I just lvl'ed a warr to 25 in SOD and then felt emty.. All the runes, mage healing, Lock tanking etc. I did NOT feel like classic and I know it is not supposed to. Turtle WoW is the perfect version of classic for me. Tents for faster resting - all new tweaks is only QOL updates and all classes seems fun! LOVE IT
The thing is the playerbase is night and day. Only reason I play turtle even though the horror stories of the owner is that they ban rmt and boost selling

I love WoW's vanilla graphics, so the HD project wasn't for me. However, I kept putting off installing vanilla tweaks but recently got around to installing it, and oh my god it is amazing. The difference is night and day, seriously. The game feels like it operates at light speed by comparison. I would recommend the vanilla tweaks patch to anybody out there. Also as an avid fan of ElvUI on retail, I'm a total sucker for PfUI. Very customizable. Thanks for this video!
hey i installed it before and it worked but after the updates I cant get the autoloot to work at all. like when I drag the wow.exe over the wow-tweaks.exe literally nothing happens
Vanilla tweaks takes a way a lot of that clunky old feeling. I mean its still there and evident that its a very old client. But the changes and tweaks it offers are fantastic.
Okay, this video is absolutely exceptional and needs more love. For anyone wondering - the Vanilla Tweaks and the Turtle HD Project work 100% fine with non-turtle 1.12 clients. I am running a SPP solocraft server and these two updates absolutely made this game a far better experience. It is absurdly easy to follow along and make your game look and feel so much better. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

That's funny. I'm trying to do this on the same exact server but vanilla tweaks did not help me. I had to grab a vulkan api and that actually helped me double my fps since I have an amd processor. Vanilla tweaks does not work with this and I am unsure of how to get it to work. I'm going to miss not having to hold shift to loot mobs but it's a small price to pay for not having any stuttering to deal with.
Had Vanilla Fixes, but it seems the Tweaks patch helps to eliminate a few things that still bothered me with the Vanilla Fixes patch. Thanks, wished I had seen this video sooner.
I googled vanilla tweaks and it brought it to the wrong git hub page and the exe from that download was actually missing. But, thanks to this video, I was able to find the right download git hub link.
I'll leave this up, but I fixed it a minute after. It's an issue of permission and/or anti-virus. Dragging Wow.exe onto vanilla-tweaks.exe gave a popup after a few tries that warned about the program, allowing it to run fixed my problem and it then created WoW_tweaked.exe. You may need to uncheck "Read-only" from the root folder of your WoW installation as well.
There are two camera setting mods that I know of. I need to see if they both currently work as I was just looking into some of the other addons for twow
Would this work on any client using 1.12.1? I'm playing on NycterMoon and would love to use this, but would have to f it up lol. EDIT: Nvm, a helpful cat answered my question below, and it's a YES! 😻
Be sure to check out the newest updated video as well. Just a 2024 version to keep things refreshed. Also you have to go into that crazy menu of 23432432 categories and look for that, I do know its under nameplates somewhere. I'll put back on pfui and see, but just so you know there is a new UI out there as well called Dragonflight UI. Its linked in my newst TWOW video under the UI section.
Nice video. However this pfQuest just wont work, i have downloaded atleast 3 times it, i renamed the file in the Addons folder to be just pfQuest, nothing works
You rename the folder everything is in, leave the file its original name. Also there was an updated recent so be sure you have the newest and the one for vanilla wow.
Nice video, wish I had found it before spending hours setting everything up myself! I couldn't get Vanilla Tweaks to work though. Whenever I drag WoW.exe onto vanilla-tweaks.exe it doesn't generate the WoW_teaked.exe file. I know it is doing something though as it tanks my FPS tremendously, even though I can't perceive any difference at all I tried this on two different computers, both windows 11.
I am using 'debfuff timers' as well as either the shagutweaks or dragonflight UI from the forums. Also I have 'moveanything' so I can position as I want

I've never had that happen. When I added the character models it just replaced the old ones. Did you run the game and log into a character at least once prior to installing the HD patch and models?

My WoW.exe doesn't create a WoW_tweaked.exe when dragging it ontop of the vanilla-tweaks. Even though I have admin rights and I accept firewall popup to proceed. Would you be able to advise what to do in this case?
admin rights issues can be various things on a computer. Are you signed into the store that matches the account/user you are using? If its an admin issue then you will have to see why the computer is doing that.
Go into you folder settings for Turtle WoW and make sure Read Only is unchecked and apply that to all files inside the folder. This fixed my issue of not being able to create the WoW_Tweaked.exe
Yeah their site has been mostly down for weeks now. Just search the turtle wow discord and join there. Its very active 24/7 and creators of the addons and graphics mods are all there and have their own channels. All links and everything you need up to date.
I have a problem every time I minimize and look at my second screen, the fps drops a lot and takes a while again to fix, do you know what it could be? thank you
Out of focus fps it’s usually called in games. Caps fps in the game while you alt tab out. Often games have a slider for fps limits min out of focus mode
Same. I had found one version that worked and it ended up not working after one of the pervious updates. I know AUX kind of sucks, but really its nice and fast if you are selling bulk. Just go back to the 'blizzard ui' if you are using the AH to buy. Sadly thats the best ive found so far. I'll look around and see if I can find any update on that previous version of Auctioneer again. I just put out the updated 2024 video a short time ago, and even then I recommended AUX for selling due to Auctioneer never wanting to work.
had you previously launched the game updated and patched before adding in the tweaked exe? If its add right away on a new install often times that can cause an issues, as the game needs to launch that first time to create the files and settings. The discord for turtle wow is very active and the people managing the addons are most always in there.

currently, I am not sure. I hadn't been playing many MMOs this year. So many good games coming out. Im poking in at turtle wow though and getting caught up on their road map and new content. I plan to look at changes to the hd patch as well. I plan to have something update for 2024 by the weekend.
Yes I remember there being a few. Its best to just install them all. I am away from my pc that has twow on it but can take a look at the download folder and double check what you need.
I was over there the first three days the server opened up and had no issues at all. Starting areas were crowded but I didn't have any latency issues that affected combat and questing.
im pretty sure pfui has all of that built into it. Check that out and see, its a ui that has a lot of qol and other mechanics mixed into it. Like lighting up abilities or having very clear count down/timers for cool downs. OmniCC and many other things as well.
I got both the atlas loot and enhanced atlas maps. Maybe just redownload it and install it. Im sure you already checked the addons tab on the char screen and made sure the folder was correct?
I believe blizzard updated the engine/version when they relaunched classic originally. I've seen people say it works but I don't like to add files to my blizzard wow because they tend not to like that.

Two things. One, do you have more than one monitor? If so the game is likely reading the other monitor. Or you can go to the config folder and changed the resolution, like the part of the video where I go over what to do if your resolution isn't working in game. You go to Turtle wow > WTF > open Config file and - SET gxResolution "2560x1440"
Based on past things it seems they are good. They had a huge surge when the china/blizzard issues happened and Twow ended up making additional servers just for the eastern players to flood to.
yeah right now their website is all kinds of a mess. I would just google and join the turtle wow discord. Its active 24/7 and has everything you need and you can even ask or read up on any questions you have there.
Sorry to hear that. I haven't had any drops in latency or fps after adding it. I'll have to look around and see if something specific causes that for some people. Thanks for the heads up.
The problem with the HD patch, is that it seems you can't get the updated player models and spell effects without also updating the NPC's... which means that Thrall's model will use it's Legion model... which makes absolutely no sense in the context of Vanilla, as I'm pretty sure this was long before Thrall became this shaman orc jesus that he is today. Vanilla like what, a few years after Warcraft 3? it makes no sense for Thrall to look like the way he looks in Legion there... But in the end it's all subjective I guess. I myself will probably use it all, because to be honest.... I think lore consistency and WoW stopped being things that run together since shadowlands/dragonflight. The classic level 10 warrior who is now champion of the aliance despite being literally refered to as "recruit" just a few minutes ago, kind of deal, lol.
Yeah there are lots of down sides with little things like that. Im hoping certain models will eventually be given their own attention, Thrall being one of them.
This doesn't work. I've downloaded Tweaks several times, unzipped it, and dropped onto the original WOW.exe and it just starts the game. Doesn't create anything new and doesn't apply the patch.
Let me check to see if there was anything changed with Tweaks. Did you run the game one time through the original exe and patch all the Twow content first? Doing a first launch on the original and logging in will set up all the settings and ini files. After that it should work as intended. Let me know
Depends. Mostly 2-6k on through out the day. The discord is extreme active as well 24/7. These are just the EU/NA numbers. There are also several Eastern servers that opened up when Blizzard and China first had their falling out. So its a good amount of people in total.
Agreed. But due to many things they can't host servers in the US. Luckily its vanilla wow so the delay, though it sucks, isn't too much for the slow game pace.
I was just about to look at the HD graphics info, and I saw that the turtle devs banned my account lol. I was just alt tabbed and all the sudden bam, nothing. They said some total bullshit about how my character was caught speed hacking while stealthed.
that is the main thing that is preventing me from playing turtlewow. I hear all over the place how banhappy they are, and refuse appeals for the innocent

Yeah. the patch does add some of the legion animations. But things like mobs in the open world still lack that. Overall I have a really good time on Twow.
I still play retail, but I do like the chill playstyle of classic/vanilla. And tend to go twow route over blizzard classic. I just like the changes and something different and still being developed. Its neat to see people developing and adding on to it.
right now you have to jump on the discord, its very active so you will get a reply immediately. They also have all addons/mods and links pinned and in their channels. The mod and addon creators are also active there as well.
Vanilla tweaks really lowers my fps for whatever reason. I assume it's due to the render distance + vanilla client = death, but I have no idea how to change the foliage render distance at all. Any help?
@@MazePerception It's fine I solved it. The issue was that the foliage distance is by default at 300 which breaks the engine unless you completely remove foliage. Putting at 200 gives the same effect as 300 pretty much but prevents the engine from shitting itself.

I love 2004 WoW , but my Nostalgia doesn't blind me , I rather have current modern graphics WoW over the early 2000s graphics .

pfui has the options to adjust their ui. There are also options on some ui's to darken or if you adjust the 'mat' you can add shading around boxes.

yeah it directed me to the apple version of vanilla tweaks as well i had to go into version to look for windows version
Nice guide, but how does your login screen appear different? Is it because of the HD pack?
I think that was recorded right around the time they updated to the newest patch. So it may have been shifting around at that time.

Why are dwarven buildings all screwed up with the patch ? The tavern walls all look really dark.
Yeah it seems like IF and the dwarven areas are shaded fairly dark. I do like the new textures around IF though, the ground most of all.

the exe file is what launches the game. It has to be there somewhere.

what happens if you don't have an addons option on the bottom left?

Its a simple model reskin and texture updates. The new engine and client for the game is due out sometime 2025

My WoW.exe doesn't create a WoW_tweaked.exe when dragging it ontop of the vanilla-tweaks.
Even though I have admin rights and I accept firewall popup to proceed.
Would you be able to advise what to do in this case?
admin rights issues can be various things on a computer. Are you signed into the store that matches the account/user you are using? If its an admin issue then you will have to see why the computer is doing that.
Go into you folder settings for Turtle WoW and make sure Read Only is unchecked and apply that to all files inside the folder. This fixed my issue of not being able to create the WoW_Tweaked.exe
download vanilla fixes and its dimmed my game and pc screen not sure what to do as its still there after uninstall

Yeah their site has been mostly down for weeks now. Just search the turtle wow discord and join there. Its very active 24/7 and creators of the addons and graphics mods are all there and have their own channels. All links and everything you need up to date.
I have a problem every time I minimize and look at my second screen, the fps drops a lot and takes a while again to fix, do you know what it could be? thank you
Out of focus fps it’s usually called in games. Caps fps in the game while you alt tab out. Often games have a slider for fps limits min out of focus mode
Not sure, I've not had that happen. It does it when you push twow back to vram and then bring it back to the active window?

Anyone gotten Auctioneer to work? I've tried 4 different versions for 1.12 but it just wont start. AUX will, but I cant stand that addon.
Same. I had found one version that worked and it ended up not working after one of the pervious updates. I know AUX kind of sucks, but really its nice and fast if you are selling bulk. Just go back to the 'blizzard ui' if you are using the AH to buy. Sadly thats the best ive found so far. I'll look around and see if I can find any update on that previous version of Auctioneer again.
I just put out the updated 2024 video a short time ago, and even then I recommended AUX for selling due to Auctioneer never wanting to work.
When I launch with tweaked.exe it just says disconnected from server. Anyone have any idea?
had you previously launched the game updated and patched before adding in the tweaked exe? If its add right away on a new install often times that can cause an issues, as the game needs to launch that first time to create the files and settings. The discord for turtle wow is very active and the people managing the addons are most always in there.

currently, I am not sure. I hadn't been playing many MMOs this year. So many good games coming out. Im poking in at turtle wow though and getting caught up on their road map and new content. I plan to look at changes to the hd patch as well. I plan to have something update for 2024 by the weekend.

Yes I remember there being a few. Its best to just install them all. I am away from my pc that has twow on it but can take a look at the download folder and double check what you need.
How is the latency from the U.S. to the new pvp server? I have heard its pretty bad at times??
I was over there the first three days the server opened up and had no issues at all. Starting areas were crowded but I didn't have any latency issues that affected combat and questing.
There is an add on for the latency. I'm american and my ping is almost always at 150ms but my gameplay is flawless with it

Yeah many do. Just an optional addon for their client. Mostly the vanilla tweaks and addons are what people are after.
Does anyone knows a addon that can shine my warrior’s overpower hability when it’s availlable?
im pretty sure pfui has all of that built into it. Check that out and see, its a ui that has a lot of qol and other mechanics mixed into it. Like lighting up abilities or having very clear count down/timers for cool downs. OmniCC and many other things as well.

I can't seem to get the AtlasLoot for twow to work
I got both the atlas loot and enhanced atlas maps. Maybe just redownload it and install it. Im sure you already checked the addons tab on the char screen and made sure the folder was correct?

Can this be done in official classic ?
I believe blizzard updated the engine/version when they relaunched classic originally. I've seen people say it works but I don't like to add files to my blizzard wow because they tend not to like that.

Honestly if that happened I would remove the files, load the game up without them. And then reinstall. Sounds like something didn't install correctly.

Two things. One, do you have more than one monitor? If so the game is likely reading the other monitor. Or you can go to the config folder and changed the resolution, like the part of the video where I go over what to do if your resolution isn't working in game. You go to Turtle wow > WTF > open Config file and - SET gxResolution "2560x1440"
main question: will Blizzard ban turtle in the future or they got legal covered?
Based on past things it seems they are good. They had a huge surge when the china/blizzard issues happened and Twow ended up making additional servers just for the eastern players to flood to.

i downloaded the HD patches but my fps dropped so much its awful.. and i have a 4090 maxed out PC... not worth it for sure
Sorry to hear that. I haven't had any drops in latency or fps after adding it. I'll have to look around and see if something specific causes that for some people. Thanks for the heads up.
The problem with the HD patch, is that it seems you can't get the updated player models and spell effects without also updating the NPC's... which means that Thrall's model will use it's Legion model... which makes absolutely no sense in the context of Vanilla, as I'm pretty sure this was long before Thrall became this shaman orc jesus that he is today. Vanilla like what, a few years after Warcraft 3? it makes no sense for Thrall to look like the way he looks in Legion there...
But in the end it's all subjective I guess. I myself will probably use it all, because to be honest.... I think lore consistency and WoW stopped being things that run together since shadowlands/dragonflight. The classic level 10 warrior who is now champion of the aliance despite being literally refered to as "recruit" just a few minutes ago, kind of deal, lol.
Yeah there are lots of down sides with little things like that. Im hoping certain models will eventually be given their own attention, Thrall being one of them.

This doesn't work. I've downloaded Tweaks several times, unzipped it, and dropped onto the original WOW.exe and it just starts the game. Doesn't create anything new and doesn't apply the patch.
Let me check to see if there was anything changed with Tweaks. Did you run the game one time through the original exe and patch all the Twow content first? Doing a first launch on the original and logging in will set up all the settings and ini files. After that it should work as intended. Let me know
why would i want legion graphics in a vanilla game?
Some do. I prefer the original graphics as well. It doesn't change the game play so some people like it.

Depends. Mostly 2-6k on through out the day. The discord is extreme active as well 24/7. These are just the EU/NA numbers. There are also several Eastern servers that opened up when Blizzard and China first had their falling out. So its a good amount of people in total.

Agreed. But due to many things they can't host servers in the US. Luckily its vanilla wow so the delay, though it sucks, isn't too much for the slow game pace.
I was just about to look at the HD graphics info, and I saw that the turtle devs banned my account lol. I was just alt tabbed and all the sudden bam, nothing. They said some total bullshit about how my character was caught speed hacking while stealthed.
that is the main thing that is preventing me from playing turtlewow. I hear all over the place how banhappy they are, and refuse appeals for the innocent
yeah I saw you had said that a couple weeks ago in one of the other videos I had made. It's hard telling why someone gets banned as none of us really know what went down. Hopefully they get it figured out.

This server is only missing new customization and animations from retail wow 🥺
Yeah. the patch does add some of the legion animations. But things like mobs in the open world still lack that. Overall I have a really good time on Twow.
HD patch crashed my client on my Tauren and never found a fix . Loved it otherwise

Yep, abandoning blizzards wow. This is my new home.
I still play retail, but I do like the chill playstyle of classic/vanilla. And tend to go twow route over blizzard classic. I just like the changes and something different and still being developed. Its neat to see people developing and adding on to it.
Did not like the HD graphics was just a bunch of different colored mists in your face very annoying.
Yeah. they have so many different hd or retextures for turtle. But all in all the good old vanilla look is never a bad thing.

Yeah. A lot of people don't like the graphic changes. There is a lot of grey scaling mixed with vibrant colors.

right now you have to jump on the discord, its very active so you will get a reply immediately. They also have all addons/mods and links pinned and in their channels. The mod and addon creators are also active there as well.

Vanilla tweaks really lowers my fps for whatever reason.
I assume it's due to the render distance + vanilla client = death, but I have no idea how to change the foliage render distance at all.
Any help?
I know there is a basic settings in the graphics. Outside of that it would be something in the .ini text document. Let me look into it and see.
@@MazePerception It's fine I solved it.
The issue was that the foliage distance is by default at 300 which breaks the engine unless you completely remove foliage. Putting at 200 gives the same effect as 300 pretty much but prevents the engine from shitting itself.

I have installed PFui mod, but i can't find all my addon buttons that normally are arround the mini map widget, how can i make them appear back?
at the bottom of the mini map there should be a little tab/drop down box. Click that, your mini map icons should then show up
