As someone who's had to refresh an old Porsche, I can only smile at how happy you sounded to get it back, but I could only wince as the list of components was reeled off 😂 must have cost a fair few pennies.
Fantastic job by the Bahnsport guys deffo the No1 Porsche Specialist in the UK.. the car is reborn and im looking forward to seeing you progress with the car and see it oyt on track next season. ❤️❤️❤️
I bet you are buzzing about this. Both of those cars you have look so cool together. Both up to a high standard and look amazing. Sounds like a ton of work has gone into this car. Funnily enough I'm also watching another guy from the US on UA-cam who's bought on exactly like yours a C2 in red. His channel is called WheelemVerb He had an overheating problem and turned out to be a 72°C thermostat fitted making the fans go wild and peaking in temperature. This guy also had done quite a lot of work himself fitting new shocks and fitted 997 GT3 rear exhaust with a centre exit- I'm not sure as the bumper isn't moulded to suit a centre exit but I guess he'll modify that. Anyway, it was fantastic to see the Red Peril back on the channel and accompanied by Dan too. Amazing 👏 🎉
Spun a bearing on my S54 after having it for only 6 months. In the process of doing this same thing. I know exactly how you feel when you talk about missing your car. And my thoughts were exactly the same. Bite the bullet and do it right. Then I’m good to go. Thanks for the content man. Love the Porsche.
@ForensicDetailing perfect Jon. The 2nd gear issue is being fixed now while they do the service. Can't wait to get it back and drive it on a nice day.
nice one. I got 1000 miles to run this in. then next year to blow it up again! gonna take it to bedford or goodwood or something ill ping you mate see if your up for bringing the Millenium Peril :)
This sort of renewing and restoring is the way forwards. Love seeing these old performance cars getting the love they deserve. A million times better than the over complicated hybrid, speed limiter, lane assist rubbish coming out at the moment!
I would do a oil change at 600 miles and then at 1200 miles, this covers the run in period. Glad they did the first change at 100 miles, you definitely don’t want to go further, its always best to do the first change after the first full heat cycle @ 20 miles approx, but 100 miles is best.
Looks great and sounds like all the work they have done will give you great confidence in the car. Were you secretly a bit disappointed that you didn't get to machine polish it though.... ??
I will still give it the once over mate you know me :) but not till sping most probably. car is lovely and glossy and had such a good clean but this car will never be a show car under the summer sun. When I bought it I knew it was swirl central but if she was too mint I wouldnt want to tear around a track in it :) bahnsport guys also cleaned out all the suspension coils and arches and all the engine innards etc... so underneath is cool.. main aim with this car is too keep it mechanically solid now. Ive just ordered the tuning arms and Im going to fix a few advisories scott kindly told me about.
I appreciate that they cleaned it because it blew up after track day. alloys were pastered and car was dirty. they cleaned all the underneath and coilovers and had car pro valeted. whoever did it got it looking lovely.
@@ForensicDetailing they have done a really good job John. Would you be willing to share how much you spent on repairs? Would be really interested to know
Could we maybe do a scientific test of microfiber towel washing mashine cross contamination? I dont believe I cannot wash wax towels with drying towels, I dont think any grease can resist to quality detergent. Just a video idea.
My washing machine that holds 6kgs of load doesn't even finish the cycle with my liquid elements black hole drying towel haha it's too heavy when wet. But i only watch out for glass towels and wash those separately.

Great to see it on its all new incarnation the joy in your voice is priceless worth every penny your only here once 🤩

@@ForensicDetailing Thanks man. As I am sure you know, it's both exciting, and stressful. But mostly, just expensive. ;-)

Amazing what a good detailer can do😉😂
I wish every car would get an engine refresh with a polish!!!
We know you’ll still polish it when you get it home Jon !!!!!
it crossed my mind :)

Happy days! Hopefully we shall both at spa in late spring 🙏
Excited for you John ❤
Congrats Jon, enjoy! Can’t believe they polished it. Get what you pay for I suppose.

Well done John I’m happy for you mate! You got your girl back 😂 Haha that made me laugh it being detailed the cheek of it 😂

Jon i'm curious now, which car do you drive in winter to work, is it going to be the porsche now or the e36 ?
Big up the PINKYS crew 💕💕😂👌🌮
The wheels need to be BBS gold centres
yer weiss gold satin centres or just OEM look I think I will go but just need to not spend money for a bit :)
Weiss light gold would be perfect 👌🏻
that Porsch-uh! does look nice. Like the red. Not the alloys. Respect the German engineering.
Pleased for you Jon .
How much did it cost?
How longs a piece of string
Tidy, but would’ve loved a closer peek of the engine .. and sound even
Yessss ❤
From myanmar❤
I would love to know how much a job like this costs 🤑
Can I ask why you didnt go the Hartec route?
Cost mate rebuild cost plus new crank. Would be close to total cost of all this with extra work
