No one NEEDS a million reds, but I, for one, WANT all the reds even if just to look at 'em on my sample sheets, singly and mixed.

Enjoyed watching your videos and seeing your process on choosing certain colors..i liked all colors i wouldnt be able to get rid of any of them as i like to paint i would use them all even if the color wasnt on my favorite list..i think the non favorite colors id use as background then do abstract doodles over them with ink to get the ink and watercolor forms out of my creative thought process, that way i used up my non liking colors and use up the art thoughts..lol..good video pretty drawing great idea on using older books..💛🇨🇦🇺🇲👩‍🎨🎨✍

If it doesn’t look like blood, I don’t want it! Those are all fun though.

Wow, my Rhodonite Genuine does not granulate at all. The website says it does not granulate. Pigment: Genuine Rhodonite | Series: 2
    Lightfastness: I - Excellent, : my opinion....'> ''''NOT"
    Transparency: Transparent
    Staining: 2-Low Staining
    Granulation: Non-Granulating.
But I certainly see yours granulating. Interesting! I LOVE reds! I adore Quin Coral or all PR209s in any brand. Its warm but has this glowing pink undertone. No other pigment has this in between shifting warm cool affect. Its magical to me.
Thanks for sharing your reds. Sorry for my late viewing. PS, according to independent sources who tested this product, Rhodonite Genuine is not very lightfast. DS doesn't have the best reputation on product honesty.

Maybe it's just the lighting but is it possible that you mixed up Deep Scarlet and Alizarin Crimson?

You may be right! It may be time to do an updated version of this video to get better lighting and test your theory. 🤔

Great video! I love watching artist swatch our their paints:) Side note: Your Anthraquinoid Red PR177 is unfortunately not lightfast. Kimberly Crick is an Artist on UA-cam who made a whole video about Moonglow being fugitive because PR177 is fugitive (PR177 is one of the colors in Daniel Smiths Moonglow). PR177 is good in masstone, but diluted PR177 is fugitive, it fades to almost nothing, unfortunately. I've learned through my own lightfast tests that Daniel Smiths lightfast ratings are greatly over exaggerated...BUT good news is you can, of course, still use pretty fugitive colors in sketchbooks and such. Anyway, fantastic video, and thanks for sharing. Much love ❤

Thanks for watching! I seen Kimberly’s video too! I probably would make a different choice for framed pieces 👍. It’s still gorgeous ❤️. I love watching artists swatch too!

Yes I was thinking the same thing… For exactly the same reason! :-) Too bad a lot of beautiful reds are not light fast :-) Bordeaux, PV 32 is one of my all-time favorite colors, I was so sad when I found out it was not light fast.

I have rose madder.. I got it after I did this video. I’m still experimenting wit it in my mixes. It does seem weak but I am going to give it a shot!
