***** There is actually no solid and consistent counter for Face-Decks, like Face-Hunter or Combo-Decks like Pattron-Warrior. Either you have Loatheb, a taunt or you are screwed. And even with Loatheb or a Taunt there are plenty possible ways for your opponent to either play around these cards or counter them by themself. So most of the time it doesnt really matter a lot what you draw, cause it most likely depends on what they draw.
RuLeZ1988 I disagree, I got a Priest deck that destroys every rush deck on ladder right now. I got a 100% winrate over 20 games against aggro. The problem with the deck tho is that it only focus on aggro decks, so whenever I face Control I need to Concede....
Joseph Ford Kripp's oppenent was unlucky several times. Kripp also topdecked a Auchenai at 10:15. If that was just a normal card with no battlecry his opponent would have had lethal next turn. He also topdecked a Stormwind Champion at 12:13 that he would have lost without.
Egg&Bacon Nah Joseph is right. Remember it's a 30 card. It's more luck to get an amazing start even more so in arena usually. Typically you can't build a consistent rush deck in arena. The fact that the guy just went face 24/7 was playing against the odds of giving Krip board control. That's exactly what happened. Sometimes it pays off to go face. Against a Priest or Warrior especially it's a very dangerous thing because if they regain board control even slightly you'll often lose.
Egg&Bacon Watched some streams of kripp and I have to say that this guy have problems with losing. Always blaming rng but when he get a top deck card then hes quiet. Besides that hes sometimes really bad manner with his behaviour against opponent.
Josh Lyman Totally, Hunter is getting a 2 mana cards that gives them a random Hunter class card everytime they cast a spell. They can now SMOrc you without running out of steam.
Josh Lyman Yea! I mean Im rank 15, which you probably dont consider really high but aggro decks are not common here at all. There are some, of course, but really nice variety ^_^

Its still so funny to me that Kripp is the only Hearthstone player I've ever heard say that paladin is a tough match up for priests. Never have I heard that spoken anywhere else, nor have I seen it; I'm a paladin main in Hearthstone, that's the only class I have that's level 60, with my second highest being mage at level 43. And I personally feel that paladins have a tough time against priests at least 5 out of 10 times. Not sure if its just the way Kripp plays priest, or how the EU players play or what...but it just seems like the weirdest conclusion to come to.
Dude, you are better than this. Most of your videos are either entertaining or even insightful, but this one... it was just a salt fest. Imho, and that's the reason I watched this, I thought it would end up being a humorous video. Almost replying saying the face epic smorc card was a bad choice, since it should be common instead. Maybe making an argument on how face hunters are a cancerous deck, but since they are so effective and cheap, and even "top" players use them to ladder (heck, pretty sure thats all Firebat uses nowadays), they will always be played until a huge meta swing that renders them useless. But no. You chose the sodium route. Bear in mind you focused only one game. That I'm sure you wouldn't post if the end result happened to be different. An arena game, mind you, not constructed, so the dynamics of plays and cards are a whole different beast. You could posted games where you break the dynamics of facerolling by placing a few taunts and the oponent insta-concedes. I made it happen so many times before. But no. You focused on your opponent misplays, and totally disregard your own. And there were quite a lot. Take the time to rewatch the game with a different mindset and you will easily spot them. You are a good enough player to see them. You focused on bad mouthing his options, and knowing you were wrong in the process. Like the consecrate. That was a waste of a turn... but... was really scary regardless. Your words, not mine. I considered an obvious attempt at a board clear, pretty common on turns 4-6 to a pally, but leaving him with a weak board to respond to your turn. So he got rid of your Senjin and your Ironfur at the cost of a 1-2 deathraddle minion (that left him 2x1-1) and a 2-3, and by floating 1 mana crystal. Yeh. Such a waste of a turn. He should just let the Senjin alive so you could always use him the next turn. Right. The paladin play at a whole isn't a part of "the face race", so even there, its a bad choice of a video. He traded, he cleared the board, and he took some risks in the meanwhile. And when he chose to race you for face, he had a good assortment of survivable cards that could make it happen against what you had the board, plus his hero power. But you out rng'd him, drewing almost perfect in the end game. That player, knowing he lost the race, even conceded (so i'm pretty sure he knew his last few cards wouldnt help him). But, it true krip salt fashion, you went on about saying how "bad he was". But since you said you werent trying to be offensive, it makes it alright, doesnt it? Bear in mind. You made a video out of this. Makes only you look bad. /rant over
HuehuehueEsBest Hum... just check the video after 11:30 or so. Big bodies when they were very very needed (in order to do favorable trades), and 2 out of 11 SwD. Even before the auch for spot removal, and serving as a soaker for the brute, the rng was in krips favor. I'm not saying the pally played perfectly, cause he didnt. But he wasnt protecting a 1\1 divine shield. He was flooding the board as most as he could with divine shield creatures tho.
dbramm01 I'm not it. You know, it is possible for a person to see a video, disagree, and voice their opinion, without being the subject of it. Food for thought.
AlphaPT You know those games where you can over-trade into a loss? This game was through and through the opposite of that. Kripp's focus on this video isn't the part where the paladin had an iffy consecration. I agree with you that that portion of the video was a rather salty. However, I believe that his main focus for this video was the end where the paladin was trying to push damage through onto a priest while allowing the priest to gain board control. I haven't watched the video again since my first comment, so this is going to be by recall. I believe the creatures the paladin had stick for the longest time were the argent squire and the shielded mini bot. He was playing his creatures and then going face with whatever was able to stay on the board the previous turn. He had Kripp in the unfavorable situation of having to choose between healing his face in order to survive or healing his creatures in order to maintain board to eventually push for the win. Kripp was choosing the survival route which put him in the situation where the paladin could have used his divine shield creatures to protect his big creatures and then have 1 turn to push through for lethal. He chose not to, went face, and was punished severely for it. He gave kripp the extra turns to draw what was needed to essentially push 1 damage per turn since he had 3 dmg going through and kripp could heal 2. That is just dumb.
Gregory Gibson It's a 50/50 if it goes for another target, meaning the original target is no longer an option. the 1 other minion+Face is two. Which means that it's another 50/50 if it will hit the other minion (in this case Blackwing Technician) or face. 25% chance overall.
I don't understand why he held the circle of healing for so long. It's so situational in arena and if he's afraid of falling behind it's not particularly helpful later.
Freddie Simmons I thought the same thing, and the only explanation I could come up with is that he might have an Auchenai Soulpriest in his Arena deck, which would make Circle of Healing a two-sided Flamestrike. Turns out, he did later draw a Soulpriest.
Penta Gram Nope. There was a 50% chance the ogre attacks the wrong target. If that happens, there is a 50 percent chance that the ogre hits the 3/4 rather than face, meaning there was a 25% or 1 in 4 chance it would hit the 3/4
I think the Paladin's decision to go all out face was correct. His mistake was choosing to hold the Spellbreaker for something like 3-4 turns. If he just played it immediately, he would have won. I can understand wanting to hold it so you can hit a Sunwalker/Sludge Belcher or something, but when you go all in smorc, you are banking on your opponent having no answers at all, as if he has something good, you lose anyway. So why choose to hedge around Sunwalker, but not around Holy Nova? Just play your 4/3 as soon as you can so you have more damage on the board.
Going all out face was absolutely not the right choice. He passed up so many favorable trades to save a divine shield on a 1/1 or push an extra 2 damage to face. He would have won if he was trading instead of SMOrcing
lkjkhfggd I think he missed out on several really important trades by just going 100% face. Yes most of the time he made the correct decision, but quite a few were terrible. 1. Cult Master play - pretty much cost him the game right there. Ironically, this is the one time he didn't go face. 2. When priest is at 25 life, you give up 4 face damage to protect a 1/1, since the game is not ending in 4 turns, and the 1/1 can help secure your board. 3. He values the divine shield on his 1/1 and 3 damage (1 - (-2)) to face over his scarlet crusader.... 4. He goes face correctly on the MCtech turn, but he floats 5 mana with Spellbreaker in hand. 5. He doesn't trade the divine shield(s) to protect his 6/3. He also makes a dude over playing the Spellbreaker.
Yes, you are right in that he made more mistakes besides just holding spellbreaker. I didn't bother going back to find them all since that's a waste of my time. My point was the overall choice to smorc was correct, and while he made other mistakes as well, the biggest one in my opinion was not playing the spellbreaker asap.
I like how some people are yelling at him for not doing a video about the announcement even though: 1.He already did one last week. 2.He said he made these videos prior so he has something to upload while absent. 3.He is AT THE ANNOUNCEMENT Are you people that dense?
It's an orc from Warhammer, so I assume the SM stands for Space Marine, which is both a faction in the universe and the name of a warhammer game, where the face is probably from.
He is right in all his points but he forgot to mention the deck the SMOrc me go face joke is attributed to, face hunter, is probably the only deck where this play style works very well. Extremely irritating, but you cannot deny its efficiency unless it goes up against a taunt heavy deck.

Why are you getting so salty about every setback in a game?. just small ones you curse out and being o whell his rng is better then mine.
Cause a small setback can make you lose the game on future turns such as keeping bgh after hitting dr boom

Guys halp can't skip the kripp, save me
Everybody knows, that the face is the place
I like how some people are yelling at him for not doing a video about the announcement even though:
1.He already did one last week.
2.He said he made these videos prior so he has something to upload while absent.
3.He is AT THE ANNOUNCEMENT
Are you people that dense?
Has anyone else here never seen Cobalt Guardian ever.
I got insane value out of it in arena, so yeah!
You should have made the SMorc card a common...

so why is smorc called smorc?
On Twitch there is an emote called SMOrc that shows up as an ogre head. The ogre head is associated with stupidity (going for face).
fangtimes I think he's asking where the SM comes from in SMOrc
It's an orc from Warhammer, so I assume the SM stands for Space Marine, which is both a faction in the universe and the name of a warhammer game, where the face is probably from.
Barboy is here
Repeatedly hit 4. You're welcome.
rip in peace --> rest in peace in peace :) gz
He is right in all his points but he forgot to mention the deck the SMOrc me go face joke is attributed to, face hunter, is probably the only deck where this play style works very well. Extremely irritating, but you cannot deny its efficiency unless it goes up against a taunt heavy deck.
Fuck I hate face so much. They need to double hero health to nerf face into the ground.
Everyone knows that the face is the place.
