  • SAU Violin Celebration X featured World famous UA-cam sensation Rob Landes (who grew up as a Suzuki student!). He revisited his roots on stage with 400 young Suzuki violin students in Utah to share cultural music from around the world in high definition & surround sound.
    German Composer: Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706)
Canon in D is one of the most famous songs in the entire world. Some believe it was originally composed for the wedding of Bach’s oldest son, who was a student of Pachelbel’s. In the modern age, it has popped up anywhere and everywhere. We hear this piece in weddings, movies, and fancy restaurants. Patterns from Canon are used in pop and rock music all the time. It is versatile enough to fit almost anything, which is why it is still so prevalent today. Strings of Elegance (Cathy's String Quartet) plays this at weddings all the time, but our guest artist, Rob Landes, figured out how to play all the parts himself!
This music was sponsored by the Suzuki Association of Utah (SAU) and supported by many hours of volunteer work from active Suzuki Violin Teachers in Utah. Thanks to everyone who participated!
