Thanks Mat! I remember him almost exclusively being referred to as Goose by the time I started following his career. But I know earlier in his career he went by Rich more often than he did later in his career. Pretty cool to be able to find a card where he signed as Rich.
Thanks Jim! I wish the Ford was in a little better shape, but still a nice card. Yeah, the 1960 Leaf are in really nice condition. Happy to have come across those. Have a great week!
@@josephe.6657 Thanks JoeE! I would have liked to get Shantz’s 1952 Topps, but haven’t found one for the right price yet. Yeah, the Dallas Green card is nice! Glad you enjoyed the video! Have a great week!
Love the Billy Pierce 56 Topps. Of course, I'm a big fan of the 1959 White Sox and that World Series. The 73 Munson is absolutely fantastic! He and Don Mattingly should be in Cooperstown. I.ve found that the photos taken with ebay can be quite difficult to find out if there's a crease, but Whitey Ford- The Charman of the Board is a must for any vintage collector! Goose Gossage has a great autograph, and I had to grab his 73 RC autographed. I think that's a pretty special Gossage auto you have there, congrats! Fantastic 60 Leaf. I believe that Fleer had to say "Sports Novelties, Inc" because Topps may have sued them over attempting to issue them with gum? It's been a while since I read that, but I think they were issued with a marble to avoid any legal nonsense. Interesting seeing a card of Al Spangler. The first time I ever saw a 1963 Fleer card was Al Spangler while he was a member of the Colt 45's, I was 14 and had to have that card! It was $3 and the dealer threw in a Dave Stenhouse! Well, I went home and studied up on the Washington Senators. My grandmother followed that team in the 1940's so I was interested. Unfortunately, I sold those two cards years ago, but not long ago a dealer was selling his collection of 1963 Fleer autographed cards he had as a teenager and Al Spangler and Dave Stenhouse were among them so I was really excited to add them back - now autographed. Unfortunatley Dave Stenhouse passed away last year. I really did want to talk to him. Al Spangler is 91 and has a great autograph.
The 56 Pierce is such a great card! Really happy to find a nice copy. The ‘59 White Sox were loaded! Munson and Mattingly absolutely deserve to be in the hall! Yeah… Fortunately, I have been lucky and haven’t purchased too many cards that had “hidden” creases, but occasionally I get one. I just picked up a pair of 1967 Topps Orlando Cepeda cards for the player run I am building and both had creases in them. Now I will have to buy another. Sellers really should mention creasing at a minimum and not just use an AI description or something like “see photos for condition”. I guess just listing the card as VG or something like that is good enough for them. But there are varying degrees of VG, and some just list cards as VG just so a buyer won’t complain about a card’s condition. In a lot of cases the cards show up in better than VG shape. Still happy to have that ‘58 Topps Ford in the collection. Thanks! Really happy to find that variation of Gossage’s auto! He and Fingers both have fantastic penmanship. The Leaf story is interesting and makes a lot of sense. I think I remember hearing that they were issued with marbles, but it might have been another issue. Great Spangler and Stenhouse story! Really glad you were able to add the cards with autos back to your collection! It’s stories like that that I love to hear, and one of the things that make this hobby so incredible! I didn’t realize that Stenhouse had passed away. RIP. I will need to look into getting a Spangler auto. Thanks for watching! Have a great week!
Thanks Brian! Oh yeah! ‘56 is one of my favorite designs of the 50’s. I have a pretty cool football set that I will be showing in the near future that I know you will enjoy that has a connection to the Bears. Probably gonna release it in a couple of weeks. Need to do a bit more research.
Hello Sensei ! Nice vintage pickups, great Gossage auto. Funny if your gonna have someone else on your card, at least Brooks took a nice photo & has a great smile. My Pop has Tom Borland & both Sisler brothers autographs. C ya !
Hello Tony, you picked up some great cards. I love the 63 Wilhelm, and 58 Whitey Ford and Bobby Shantz. I rarely seen those sports novelty cards, great looking ! I like too this Randy Moss card with his college uniform. Thanks you for sharing and Happy Collecting.
@@undraftedplayer Thanks Fabien! I don’t see a whole lot of 1960 Leaf either. When I do, they usually aren’t in very nice condition. Was happy to be able to win some nice cards from that set. Moss was amazing! Well, except for his time with the Raiders, haha! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Great pickups Sensei
Looking forward to seeing the Bobby Shantz signature 0:53

Thanks Barry! Shantz usually gets the cards back quickly, so it shouldn’t be too long before it returns.
