- Guys, I am just trying to satisfy requests. I appreciate the artistry of it, but appreciation does not require agreement. Her songs do their job-they get her feelings across.

“He hit me and it felt like a kiss” was a famous and extremely controversial song written by Carole King and George Goffin. Released by the Crystals and inspired by a conversation they had with their babysitter - Little Eva of the locomotion fake.
King regrets writing the song.
Edit: Lana had a very challenging period during her teens and early 20’s. Some of the earlier songs are very influenced from her experiences including some toxic relationships. In general, her later albums are more reflective of her later life which has been some what more stable
Strongly recommend you skip a couple of albums. Try something like Love or Arcadia or Blue Banisters
I get what you're saying and I totally respect it. Not everything is for everyone
Lana has had a troubled past. She said in an interview that before becoming famous she was in an underground sect where the guru believed he had to break women down in order to build them up again. At the end she left. Some other people say that this song is about her addiction with alcohol from her teenage years, for which she was sent to a boarding school in Connecticut (and so Jim in this case would be Jim Beam).
She rarely talks about the stories behind her songs. Anyway, she has grown so much, and she is not in this mental state anymore. Now she has a more hopeful tone to her songs. Maybe you could check out some of her newer songs, like Mariners Apartment Complex, Norman Fucking Rockwell, Love, Arcadia
These are just the first that came to mind!
"Thats horrifying" and then you continue to bop your head hahahhaha feel that. Can you do Dealer next? Dealer by Lana Del Rey
He should react to put me in a movie lmaoo
stop 💀💀
Whhahaiahaihajahahah
HAHAHAAHHAAH
Ultraviolence' s album cover is supposed to convey the start of a horror movie. The subject matter of the songs are heavy but are true. It's not in anyway romanticizing abuse. It's really comforting to us victims of abuse/toxic relationships to hear an artist express how we feel as well. With being victims sometimes we feel shame that we were exploited because we loved someone too much, but hearing Lana sing aboutthe similar situation we've been in, we feel less alone, we feel seen and heard. Lana understands us, just feel empathy for us and you'll enjoy her songs as tragic stories and not as disgusting songs simply.
She actually said somewhere that she hates that line now and doesn't like to hear it anymore "he hit me and it felt like a kiss". It's okay if you don't agree with her. She grown with every album she released and i'am proud to say that she is out of this terrible mental state. That's why I do recommend to listen to her newer stuff. Like can u imagine she kept singing about this horrible guy since born to die to Untravoilenc to honeymoon. He missed her up. However, honeymoon is an amazing album. I do actually recommend "salvatore" I hope u like it and all the best 💙💙💙
Mariners Apartment Complex 🙏
I love how you say you're disgusted by it and make horrified expressions yet continue bopping to it 🤣
try arcadia, love, get free, these for sure are more optimistic
this is my go to video when I need to laugh 😭
is it really that funny lol? I love that!
This music video was shot by a iphone 6 back in 2014
why are you reacting to her darkest and most controversial songs instead of the lighter stuff you would probably like better? 😭
it's literally what people have been formally requesting to hear
The song is a reference to The Crystal song and also referencing Jim Jones The Cult leader that made people drink poison.
Pleaseee do Arcadia it’s so beautiful
🤮
Some "happy" songs from Lana:
Off To The Races
Lolita
Radio
Gods and Monsters
Brooklyn Baby
West Coast
Florida Kilos
High By The Beach
Doin Time
Queen of Disaster(Unreleased)
You can be the boss (Unreleased)
Kinda Outta Luck(Unreleased)
As a Lana fan i appreciate that you are honest and don't try to please people for views..
but if you want some more lighter, it would be cool if you react to National Anthem or Love by her
React to Mariners Apartment Complex
react to lust for life or love by lana del rey, it'll make your day
St Vincent - Digital Witness and Daddy's Home reaction pls
having seen this video and any other del rey's, do you feel those are better matches to my temperament?
@@PopAt50 yes that's not Lana that's st Vincent it's experimental music and if you like music then you should give it a try
u dont get art
" I was an awful critic. I operated on the assumption that there was an absolute scale of values against which art could be measured. I didn't trust my own subjective responses. "- Tom Stoppard
" Ask one hundred people to explain love. And you'll get one hundred different answers. Because love is like art, it's subjective. Fluid. Ever-changing. Evolving." -Kim Holden
"Art is so subjective, and people can react however they want." -Jennifer Aniston
"Art and life are subjective. Not everybody's gonna dig what I dig, but I reserve the right to dig it. Or not"-Whoopi Goldberg
" If some of this art is not for you, that's fine. Art appreciation is a subjective matter, and we each bring our own experience, knowledge and taste to the party." -Michael Audain
" I think all art is subjective - that whoever's watching it or listening to it will decide whether it's good or bad." -Billy Boyd
"“The creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act.”
-Duchamp
"The Maestro says it's Mozart but it sounds like bubble gum when you're waiting for the miracle to come."
Leonard Cohen
I think i understand art just fine. It's you that wants to make the assertion, certain in your view, that there is an absolute art. There is not, and there never has been.
It's self important and pretentious to tell someone they don't get art. What makes you think YOU do? What makes You an authority? Because you *like* it? Try again.
