@@Cat-rc5bp My sentiments exactly. Romero adds a bit of a Western feel to the show with his Texan accent. He may be hypochondriac but he's a joy to listen to. Frank sounds a bit henpecked and a little annoying, ought to be on one of those comedy shows.

Joe’s partner needed essential oil of Lavender.
Top quality essential oil of Lavender, the kind Amanda Apothecary sells. For a burn, I put it on straight, no dilution, lightly spread it around. Poor guy would have been all better by morning. I’ve used it on people who were burnt red, and had to spend the next day in the sun, too, and they got healed and didn’t burn when used the next day, too.
I never use sunscreen, and I never burn. For a sunspray, it keeps skin healed before it can burn, heals a burn after if it wasn’t used as a preventive measure.
The greater the ratio of Lavender, of course the more it heals: In a glass spray bottle, (true essential oils will eat through plastics, except the type of plastic designed for the reducers in the glass bottle). I add distilled or spring water, some cold-pressed aloe vera, a little coconut oil (a natural sunscreen and good for the skin, helpful but not required, it melts to the touch and will re-melt when warmed), and the Lavender. (A little Helichrysum is a cell regenerator, but expensive, not a fabulous smell, and not required). It makes it easy to apply. Can leave out the water,, container still must be glass, though...and mix Lavender and Coconut Oil, with optional Aloe (good stuff), and Helichrysum (good but not required, small amounts, like one drop to every 10-20 of Lavender is all).
Using cheap stuff won’t work at all. Has to be the real stuff. All Ananda’s Essential Oils are tested and high quality. They post results of their tests to prove every batch of every oil.
Their Bulgarian Lavender is somehow one of the best-smelling and also the least expensive of all their Lavender types, and I use it for burns all the time. I never leave home without Lavender.
I had a severe burn down to the flesh, like a branding iron, about 3” long and 1/2” wide and deep, like a trench. Docs wanted to do a skin graft. Ignored them, and against their advice to never use it directly or undiluted on and in such a burn, (I already had used it many times for less severe burns, knew I had no allergies, knew the French used it in WWII when they ran out of penicillin, knew it healed any burn especially when used straight), I put Lavender right all over and down into it every day, 3x/day, making sure to cost every bit of it, and kept it wrapped, and in less than 30 days, all better, no scab, smooth and level, no divet where it should have been, even the dark color faded to nothing in year. Can’t tell it was ever there all. Not at all. I did add neosporin over the Lavender every time once it had sealed off the first layers and began to scab, about the last 10-12 days, to keep the scab soft and to add double protection from infection.
Every hospital burn unit is irresponsible and downright evil if they don’t use straight Lavender on their burn patients, unless a patient for some freakish reason has an allergy. For legal reasons, it is said to use caution or dilute it on infants or babies under 2, and check for allergies of course for anyone, but it’s in a lot of baby products, and if it were my infant, I’d be using it and carefully watching, but it accelerates healing so much, avoiding a skin graft is a big deal.
Lavender is the Swiss Army Knife of essential oils, no home should be without it. Cheap stuff may smell ok, but it won’t have the healing properties. The worst name they gave it all was “Aromatherapy”. The aroma has nothing to do with the plant properties that heal. Often ones that smell good together do work together as well, but it isn’t the smell that’s doing the job, other than psychologically.
Castor Oil is a Swiss Army Knife of its own, well worth researching. With Rosemary and with Sage essential oils, with some Camellia Seed, Coconut, Olive or other carrier oil, massages in it will break down scar tissue and fade scars and discoloration.
I know, I’m like Joe’s partner. But I’ve used them for many years and they work. Cutting corners with cheaper kinds doesn’t. Couldn’t resist dropping this down for someone as it’s getting that time of year right now.
Sure wish I’d known about it as a child when my arm caught on fire. What a miserable summer that was! It took many months to heal, but it would have been all better in a couple of weeks.
If it ever even saves one person from a summer like that one day, or even from a bad sunburn, it’s worth writing. Essential oils aren’t the same for pets, can be harmful to put on them, so keep it on the humans only, unless you are very sure and have checked it out thoroughly...
