“The Big Paper” August 21, 1952 “Paper” refers to stolen checks, very interesting time period story, especially how checks were cashed👍 The first Frank Smith.prior to Ben Alexander taking over for years👌 • love Mrs Theodore’s voice, (Virginia Gregg ?)character actress must of been in nearly 50 episodes. • super episode, one of my favs !
To add to your paper explanation, writing bad checks was referred to as "hanging wallpaper" back then as well. The first Frank Smith actor was Herb Ellis. Virginia Gregg played the apartment manager in this episode, not Mrs. Theodore. In my opinion, Virginia Gregg is one of the best female character actresses of all time.
That was Cliff Arquette (aka Charley Weaver), not Martin Milner. Milner did have a role during the radio series as Friday's short-term partner, Bill Lockwood, who was Ben Romero's (Friday's first partner) nephew.
This recording is pretty good for the 1950s or anything in that era. It must’ve been recorded directly off the network line or something and not someone recording off the radio.
I once saw Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray shopping in that market.
Thanks for the uploads:)
That forest fire PSA is still very relevant today
another paper hanger. good show ,thanks for posting these.
Cliff Arquette, listed in the closing credits, played the character of Charley Weaver on Hollywood Squares and other TV programs.
Thanks for sharing the interesting tidbit!
He also played a priest on a TV episode
That old man’s voice was so cute 😊
Quite a mess made in that market!
That was Cliff Arquette, who played a character named Charley Weaver on television for years in various variety shows.
I am always careful with fire. I don't want my ass wopped by a big brown bear in a campaign hat.
I wonder if Smokey is still around? Probably up dated . A hip version of Smokey , pierced ear, dyed hair, I mean fur 😎
Thanks for the laugh.

Martin Milner owner of Marty’s Mart and star of Adam 12, a Jack Webb production.

I got to stop listening to this show. I started smoking.
Fatima strong 💪
😂😂
What a mess they made in that market!
11:20 It's not the weenies and the pickle that gripe me...
I think it was Wheaties.

Interesting scam on checks. Also - The fight sounds rough, but Joe gets his man.
Jack Webb is A Savage!!!
