He’s a charming and funny guy who actually has some very compelling and hard hitting interviews out there where he performs extremely well in those interviews. I didn’t vote for the guy and didn’t love him as president, but I get him as a former president. He has been a good former president and politics aside, I respect the guy.
One of the biggest differences between Bush and Trump is that Bush has a (self-deprecating) sense of humor and a thick skin. The media criticised and ridiculed him quite a bit, but he always took it in stride.
He wasn't at the time he was President. He was complaining about the media making fun of his 20 year old daughter. Now days the media is making fun of Trump's 10 year old son. Cheers man - the more I find out about Bush the more I realize I never got to know the person. The person is GREAT the things he did were not. Many of the politicians are. I remember being stunned at how funny and warm Bob Dole was out of office. He was like the grim reaper when running for President. Although I disagreed with him on most political issues, I always thought George W. and his Dad possessed basic human decency and genuinely cared about people. From a UK guy born 1993. This man was president in my formative years. I have yet to see a man with more compassion; enthusiasm and genuine love for his country. One of the biggest differences between Bush and Trump is that Bush has a (self-deprecating) sense of humor and a thick skin. The media criticised and ridiculed him quite a bit, but he always took it in stride.
None of this was obvious at the time.
He wasn't at the time he was President. He was complaining about the media making fun of his 20 year old daughter. Now days the media is making fun of Trump's 10 year old son. U and me both. I read his mom’s book. I come from a large family and we didn’t have money. Seems to me that the Bush kids were raised much like families without money. Sounds weird I know but if any of us, me and my siblings screwed up, we had to pay the consequences. When Bush got busted for drinking and driving… his parents left him in jail. That’s exactly what my Mom woulda done.
This is why I voted for this guy the first time around - he's just so lovable and charismatic! But I learned my lesson, and it applies to friendships, romantic and work relationships, etc.: just because you like a person's personality doesn't mean they're right for the position.

Cheers man - the more I find out about Bush the more I realize I never got to know the person. The person is GREAT the things he did were not. And I'm sad that the fun loving human sitting here was also the person who did so much harm to the States. I at least understand WHY people voted for him though. Up here in Canada, we didn't learn much about who he was. Just what he did and how it would effect us. But one thing I always, ALWAYS said about him, because it was so clear from his legislation is no matter how many issues he has with public speaking...he is clever as hell. He is SMART, and it's VERY stupid to underestimate him. I'm glad though that he's using his time out of office to raise money for the vets he created. That is seriously something. In addition, obvious evidence of chemical & biological weapons has been found in Iraq, contrary to what many people think. The lethal Ricin gas was found in the cave camp of the Ansar Al-Islam terrorist organization near the town of Sargat, close to Halabja city. Relatives of the city where Saddam killed his own civilians with lethal gas. If I'm not mistaken, in the first weeks of the 2003 invasion, this cave camp was captured after a few days of conflict with the local Peshmerga force and US Special forces team. Arabic documents, materials, NBC clothing, antidotes & traces of potassium chloride have been observed on how to make Ricin gas inside of the facility. The camp where Colin Powell projected satellite photos on the screen during his February presentation for UN. In addition, Ansar Al Islam began receiving funding & support from Al-Qaeda shortly after 9/11. The organization has ties with Zarqawi & Bin Laden & has been trained to fight like the PKK, like the Chechens on the mountain, as opposed to fighting in the desert with coalition forces in the open area. As is already known, the geography of Northern & Northeastern Iraq is very difficult & too high. Think about it, this is just one terrorist camp that has been detected. In my opinion, if the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to allow the Americans to enter Northern Iraq in 2003 it gave more to this series of operations camp was gaining momentum, fast action and would be able to do. But when the northern leg of the invasion was stillborn, time was lost, & perhaps the "not found" chemical & biological weapons + WMDs were either taken out of the country, or buried, or destroyed. This is clearly stated in the official Duelfer report, those who aren't lazy enough can read hundreds of pages if they want about missing WMDs.
After the invasion, after taking the necessary intimidation, Gaddafi stopped advancing his own WMD program. In 2007, the nuclear reactor, which was developed with North Korean scientists in the Al-Khabar region of Syria, was wiped out by Israel in a secret air operation with abundant electronic mixing. In February of this year, the Turkish Armed Forces bombed the Syrian regime's Chemical Warfare facility near Aleppo with its F-16s while carrying out operations in Idlib area to secure its borders.
In conclusion, Iraq, Syria, Iran, North Korea. All these regimes are on the axis of evil, regardless of the mistakes made in the wars, the important developments that took place. Their armies, men power must be destroyed & their country's territory must occupied by the armies of the civilized world. Their people must be liberated from these tyrannical governments. But who will replace them after their leader dies? This is a huge problem, of course, as in Saddam's example. Differences of religions, sects & races should be studied well if a Western country is to invade these countries. ..and especially if we're talking about the ME region.
But it's very obvious that no matter how well planned, no matter how superior technology you have, no matter how many "freedom fighters" you have to use for proxy wars, this is a quagmire. There is no end in sight

I love this man for a lots of reasons, his attack to Afghanistan actually was a life changing for my people.
Media doesn’t likes to talk about Afghanistan before 2001 but I was a very young kid in elementary school every day I was walking 14 miles for school now there is a high school right behind my door, we had only one university for the entire country and Taliban and Al-Qaieda made that university like a Islamic school but now we have more 400 universities in Afghanistan, we didn’t had food to eat , we didn’t know what is electricity, a lots of people out of Kabul the capital of Afghanistan didn’t know how a car looks like but now from every 10 families 8 of them has at least one car and they have access to all media’s around the world and they they are watching American TVs .

Many of the politicians are. I remember being stunned at how funny and warm Bob Dole was out of office. He was like the grim reaper when running for President. Although I disagreed with him on most political issues, I always thought George W. and his Dad possessed basic human decency and genuinely cared about people. Sadly, I don't think our current Orangutang in Chief possesses any of that.
He probably is a little more mellow because the office is stressful, but the media just wanted to paint him as a terrible evil person for their agenda. Nobody changes that much late in life.

That’s a big reason people like myself love G W Bush. The critics tore him apart for the his mispronunciations of words and the quirky looks he’d give. The man is anything but stupid. Acting imo he was so brilliant that he convinced half the US that he was an idiot. After having two stuck up, pompous Presidents follow W, people are appreciating his sense of humor more finally.

It’s your precious Obama who ramped up our presence in the Middle East, further destabilizing the region. Bush left in two countries. Which is terrible. From a UK guy born 1993. This man was president in my formative years. I have yet to see a man with more compassion; enthusiasm and genuine love for his country. Mistakes and gaffes were made, but this man will eventually go down as one of the top 10 presidents you have had. So my overall point was, "pretty sure a significant portion of them could do that, at least in the right circumstances". I just watched a ton of Trump rally interviews to the point my brain was rotting, so seeing this was soooooo refreshing and reminded myself again that not all republicans are like Trump supporters. I actually really like Bush and the fact he and his wife are friends with the Obamas
I voted for him and while I don't 100% agree with everything he did, he is a good, decent man who put the country first, just like I feel Obama did. I think he took the job seriously, but I love that he doesn't take himself so seriously. He and his entire family are a class act!
