REVIEWING: Optical image drawing board that helps you sketch better?

- Hey there
in today's video i have an unboxing of a very weird tool that i saw in my craft store. unfortunately my craft store doesn't have a webshop but I also found it on other webshops. I'm sure they are the same.
This tool helps you to sketch a picture from your phone or tablet. The optical drawing will help you make the sketches. Sounds promising to me.

What are your thoughts on this tool? 😂
I think this tool is very cool, Love this tool haaha
Thank you for the review. I saw some were complaining about the pencil hitting the glass (while trying to trace the image,) but didn’t seem like you had that issue 👍🏼
This would work for what I’m looking for.
BTW, if you run those quick sketches through few filters, you’ll be surprised what you’ll see : )
Especially with a good pic edit app.
You won’t have to paint or draw anything else 😁
And the work is all yours, technically (not counting the sketching part haha)
The rest is on you, how creative you want to get with it.
I personally create images from ANY picture (doesn’t matter what it is,) by running it through bunch of filters, which includes mirroring.
The results are unreal.
I just needed some way to draw out exactly what I see, for it to be clear, because apparently nobody else sees it (until it’s pointed out.)
It’s all an “imagination” until you’re looking at it 🖼
Can it be used properly by left handed folks?
@@datoda3593 Yes of course ! Just reverse all the things : the phone on your right, the "glass" on its left, and the paper on the far left of the tool.
LOL. Tracing paper or a light box works much better. IMO.
OMG thank you for informing us that you have to look THROUGH the reflector part because I have been trying to figure that out in every video I look up for this 😂
Hahaha it took me a while to understand that part too 😂
Same here 😅😅😅
Is bad quality, works better as light table on a piece of glass
Same
Thank you thank you for this video!!! I also thought it reflected on the paper. I almost bought this.
Haha thank god, saved you from a bad purchase then 😄
These are perfect for transferring images onto surfaces too thick to use a light table on, surfaces like illustration board or canvas panels. I got one for this purpose and because graphite paper is too messy imo and doesn't always erase.
I bet you could even do zoomed in images if you section off the areas by grid guidelines too! As long as you can keep track of which part goes where then I would think it could be manageable.
Thanks, I was trying to figure out if it was worth it from temu lol
Same lol
It's not. I have it. You can't even see the pen through the lens. So it's like blind drawing, which defeats the purpose
It’s only about £3
@@nellychan4599so pi$$ed I bought it 😡😡 you can’t see ANYTHING THROUGH THE LENS…I even took off my glasses thinking it was the issue but NOPE 🙄 I rate it a -10 out of 10
thank you for showing, i thought it projects the image on paper too 😆
if you noticed in the video when it looked like she was going to put the drawing of the girl over the phone to see if it lines up, you could see the picture through the paper and trace that way. It's called light box tracing and works much better than the the flimsy holder. Save your money
This works better for notebooks.
I tried to do that but it didn't work very well... since the phone is touch-screen, the image keeps moving.
I wish. If you barely touch the screen w any part of your hand it moves the pic. If I have to blow something up to trace it, it gets SUPER irritating when it gets bigger or smaller every time you touch it. I have successfully traced Like this, but with TONS of headaches w the screen sensitivity
@anitasmith7764 there should be an app or something that you can lock the screen with, so the picture stays in place. Or you can get those drawing gloves. So your skin doesn’t touch the screen.
Yes but if your using super thick paper of canvases this way would be handy I do oil paint portraits and I can get them pretty accurate to people but it takes forever before I'm happy with the pencil proportions and stuff so I'm thinking of getting this to give me a head start
Thx I bought it for my references bc I have wayyy to many screen shots on my devices and the instructions weren’t clear this will make my references a lot faster and easier to sketch out
I thought it would reflect on the paper too :’( so disappointed but I’ll see how it goes or I will return it to the shop I got it from
Move the paper to the left. Right? Adjust the paper.
I’m going to get a sheet of acrylic and make the stand out of cardboard and glue.
I just bought one of these and if i had seen this video first I would not have ordered the thing. The thing's description, on where i ordered it, showed you could do any photo you have saved on your phone, but my wolf pic doesn't show on it, and the vid, on the website, showed that the image showed on the paper, then you could trace it. I recommend not buying one. Save your money and find one that actually does what it's supposed to. If I was writing this to "Dear Abby" I would have signed it "Sad and Artless" 😂😂😂
Well...Now, I have a stand for watching movies on my phone 😂😂😂
It was cool, but it mirrors the image. When I copy a sketch I need it to face in the same direction. I will have to find images that face the opposite direction to achieve the look I want. It will be an adjustment for me.
Some people mention a lightbox or to put the paper on the tablet. I want to add that there are people like me who draw on a really thick paper and cant use this method. So I am really glad for this video to see this alternative.
I have a question for this. Is there a double line? I tried this method with a normal glass but it is always doubling the picture (the picture gets reflected from both sides of the glass). If the glass is thin you may wont notice but If it is thin, then it bends. Is this glass that Amira uses different to that, since it is a glass made for this specific suppose? Or does it have still the double reflection?
It totally doesn't work like the photos imply, but still works on an intesting principle easy to replicate.
Awesome video! Keep up the great work!
I see that the reflection is doubled, which is logical cause as the screen has two sides. Are both reflections equally bright?
I just got mine, it's set up & I have my picture ready but I can't see my pencil! How do you see where your pencil point is??? It's driving me crazy!
I think you have to adjust the brightness on your device. I thought brighter would be easier to see but turning the brightness down makes it easier to see the pencil.
I would rather use a light box than wasting my money on one of these, that’s my opinion, this looks like a lot of hassle to me.
I think i like my light board better! And I can see where my pencil point is with it! This here I can't find the pencil point 😥 it's like I'm dizzy or drunk or something when I look thru the plastic!
Maybe I need to be drunk in order to use it! 😂😂
this is useful when wanting to put a drawing like in a travelers notebook or journal. with a lightboard you cant do that.
I bought one on tiktok shop, and I thought it would reflect onto the paper & it doesn't, which I find it stupid.
I thought about using this to trace a coat of arms onto a piece of wood and wood buring it on. It would be perfect for that because the images aren't very detailed.
3:30 - I saw this item on Pinterest and I thought the same! I'm so glad you reviewed it.
Needed reflecti thru the paper
U have to look through your Projector to trace the object on a paper...
Exactly!
@@AmiraKang Bless You Amira... Greetings from Bristol, UK
This tool was soo soo cool!!!
yes it is, makes things so much easier!
Thank you for the video
Thanks!
thank you i wonder how it works
You’re welcome
Where do you get this
Thanks for posting!
My drawing style always consists of looking like a cross between Tim burton puppet style and ball jointed dolls…
I’m really bad at accurate human anatomy; I’ve never been successful in drawing a male once in my life! 😵💫
I may need to get one of these to see if it helps me loosen my wrist up a bit and get the image on the page
I love drawing but I know I suffer from same face/same body syndrome
Thanks for the review!
switch off room light
I thought so to when I bought mine. It sucks.
Hi Amira just put the paper onto the tablet and gently draw the image as a light boards
thank you for the tip, good cheap alternative but the thing is, that it's not easy to draw on it since the picture keeps moving.
Works a bit like a camera lucida.
That was funny. You can put paper above the ipad and draw and #1 it's much easier and #2 it's more accurate. I realized this when she accidentally put the paper above the ipad @7:02
I was using my laptop to trace images. This is OK for single sheets of paper but I am trying to draw in my journal so that method doesnt work any more. The projector would be easier.
Also, trying to trace onto a paper 0laced directly over an image on a phone ot tablet does NOT work unless you can disable the touch screen
@@cmarie8099 Thank you!
That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do lately, as it’s my ONLY option right now.
I tried freezing the screen, in few ways, but it didn’t work.
Google search didn’t help much with that.
So for someone without a lap top, ipad and all that good stuff, and unless you know how to lock/freeze a photo, this little budget tool, will do it’s job.
Eventually I’ll get one of those WACOM or CintiqPro devices 😁
@@creativ3vision And C Marie : perhaps it would work if you put a piece of glass or plexiglas on the top of the screen, I mean between the phone screen and the sheet of paper. The glass should prevent the touch screen to activate, don't you think ?
I was disappointed to I thought it would reflect as well
❤lol don't feel bad I did the same thing 😅😅😅
THANK YOU.
i was gonna buy this Bs,
I ALMOST DID 😮💨🙄😒😏😑
Its trash. There are ones that actually show the drawing on the paper so you don't have to do a crappy scratch to get your sketch. At that point better put the plexiglass on the tablet abd use as a light table
Yes of course there are better alternatives. This one is just budget proof and easy accessible.
Why not get rid of all that nonsense and put the piece of paper directly onto the tablet screen like a lightbox, trace with a soft pencil or charcoal and go over the trace with a stronger pencil or ink pen on a hard surface.
Would save a ton of messing about with this overly expensive gimmick.
I feel you. I have hard time getting measurements right on human body. To either sex.
😍😍
Amira, Idont see the image on the paper, what's hap?
Hi Jacques, you have to look through the plastic window. It doesn’t reflect.
what art sopping
Owhhh No
That's what scam is
i love ur voice
Thank you for watching
Estafadores
I thought same like you…
They cheated 😮
I wouldnt buy that
I did for my art references since I haven’t found my style yet it’s most likely for ppl like me who screen shot everything and then take forever to sit down and sketch out the references that I refuse to delete from my phone 😂
you sound nice, loveable,
I wonder if you are my girlfriend, that would be nice. I will buy you all the sweet candy in the world. tehe.
This was useless for me
Unfortunately I haven’t used it ever since lol
This girl has the common sense of a cardboard box.
Well since yours is better why are you watching this? No need for a review or tutorial.
That’s ridiculous. You should definitely take the time to learn to draw without such a tool. It limits your possibilities in the most thinkable way.
It's called cheating. Not learning 😂😂😂😂😂
