It's kinda sad tbh, the poor thing has so much hair on it due to over breeding, a squished face to the point of having problems breathing and tiny legs.
I love the Pekingnese types the best, because I grew up with a Pekingnese x Silky terrier and she was so spunky and never had any health problems she lived 13 years.

This is called "stringing up" a dog... many judges complain about it, especially because it means actual movement can't be assessed, but that doesn't stop some exhibitors from thinking it makes their dog look flashier. As for breathing/pain I wouldn't be terribly concerned, dogs would be gagging and hesitating if there was an issue. The pressure is more under the jaw than on the neck and the dogs don't weigh much.
Me too. My shih tzu has a puppy cut. I can't help but feel sorry for the long hair on these dogs. They have a hard time breathing and the massive hair adds to the breathing issues. They are so much happier when they can move around more freely.

My long haired chihuahua is a gorgeous golden brown. She’s the most loyal companion. 💜 Would (try) and chew off your leg....if you were hurting me. Wouldn’t trade her for anything but she is high maintenance.
Havanese; not my favorite breed but Bono is exceptional beyond words. Well deserved win. Finally a judge who knew what she's doing. Congrats Bono and Cuba.
That long haired chihuahua is so cute 😢😢😢 makes me want to adopt a senior chihuahua once I'm financialy stable enough :)) one day... I love big breeds as well, but I have a soft spot for those tiny angry furballs lol

It's so funny how some toy dogs thing they can take on anybody, but then you get big dogs that try to sit in your lap, thinking they're still puppies.
My chihuahua has that attitude problem. She will not stop harassing certain people coming in my home, even their voices anger her in a blink.
