Definitive Arms also made a STANAG magazine adapter for the AKM platform 10 years ago, and offered complete Saiga, then VEPR conversions with the magwells installed, and they also offered AR-10 style adapters for .308 VEPRS. The main difference between Syndicus and PSA is PSA's STANAG AKs are not standard AKM receivers with an adapter - they re-designed them to use STANAGs exclusively. I handled one at NRAAM 2018, and they opted to hold them back a year to re-engineer some features. I don't really see this as infringing on anything PSA has done, as there's so much prior art on STANAG magazine AKs that the concept is in the public domain, so it's up to the market to decide. And as for the comment about Nighthawk having no trouble selling multi kilobuck 1911s, that's true. But Nighthawk has also been in business for 20+ years and has a well established track record for product quality and customer service.
