  • Juwel Rio 450 LED: Did setup my new fish tank a few weeks ago. At the moment i'm only keeping lemon tetras in this aquarium. Will probably add more fish in the near future. I'm just waiting for the plants to grow.

    Dein minimalistischer Einrichtungsstil ist richtig gut. Zusätzlich sieht ein Schwarm mit kleinen Fischen in meinen Augen immer viel besser aus als einige wenige große Tiere. Jetzt habe ich auch Lust, mir so ein großes Aquarium zuzulegen...😅
    Schön auch, dass du zeigst, dass man Juwel-Aquarien einfach so out of the box verwenden kann. Der Filter ist viel besser als sein Ruf in hiesigen Scaping-Kreisen. Wie schaffst du es, bei so wenig Pflanzenmasse, die Becken so algenfrei zu halten? Beleuchtest du nur sehr kurz?

    • @freshwatertanks
      @freshwatertanks  Рік тому +2

      Danke vielmals. Also der Filter ist super. Ich denke für die Aquascaper optisch halt nicht so schön. Ich hatte das Becken früher auch schon mal mit zwei Aussenfilter betrieben (anderes Becken), aber bei diesem werde ich den Innenfilter belassen. Habe ja jetzt nicht so viele Fische. Beleuchtet wird das Becken nur 6 Stunden pro Tag und halt auch noch die Huminstoffe die Licht nehmen. Darum wohl auch keine Algen, aber auch sehr wenig Pflanzenwuchs. Habe es jetzt mit Hygrophila probiert aber die wachsen auch nicht wirklich. Werde es jetzt wohl komplett ohne Pflanzen (ausser Schwimmpflanzen) betreiben. Dafür mit vielen Erlenzapfen und Seemandelbaumblättern.... Also ein Schwarzwasserbecken.

    Hi, whats your findings about the tank itself?
    I'm thinking about getting the same one.
    Could you provide me the dimentions of the bottom cabinet.
    That would be awesome.
    Since its a bit less wide then the 151cm.
    I can't seem to find those dimentions anywhere.
    Thanks!

    Hi!!!
    I have the same Juwel Aquarien (I really have 2 Juwel Rio 450L and 1 Juwel Rio 180L).
    I lije a lot your setup 👍... but I have a question please
    Can you explain to me why you add the sand with the aquarium full of water? In theory, the most logical thing would be to wash the sand first, add it to the aquarium, and then add the water to the aquarium. I'm actually a bit baffled because I've never seen this technique used to add sand when setting up a brand new aquarium before.
    I'd love to read your answer! Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany.

    • @freshwatertanks
      @freshwatertanks  Рік тому +1

      hi there. ah great we have both the same tanks! 😃 honestly i always add water first when using sand. i read years ago that this prevents having air pockets in the sand… but i guess both ways work out fine…

    • @freshwatertanks
      @freshwatertanks  Рік тому +1

      yes that would have been better. but i couldn't really do that, as the wood had to be soaked first. it took a while before i could remove the rocks. but it did work well. not so the plants. i just replanted the tank yesterday. looks much nicer now i think. 🌿

      @@freshwatertanks has been said before but planting more than you'll need and in adding fish right away, heavy planting is especially critical . Like everything you have done and great luck going forward. Remember to be really light on the fish food for the first 6 + weeks 🏞
