Good job on getting your pickup through some of those tight spots. My wife and I did this trail 10 years ago in a 2000 Ford Explorer and I thought some of the rough spots right at the start of the trail, where you have to climb over roots while avoided rocks and trees, was a little dicey even in a vehicle of that size, let alone a full size pickup. We now have a 2018 Tundra TRD so I'm always on the lookout for trails suitable for a stock full size truck.

I forgot y'all were meeting up at the Sierra Buttes this last weekend. When my buddy and I pulled up there Sunday, we got a wave from the OB group. Thanks for that. Jason was driving the XTerra and I had the dark green XJ. We were hoping to stop and talk to those of you still there, but we were waylaid by a friendly gentleman who kept a conversation going and we didn't get to say hi, even when you walked over by us at the edge of the canyon wearing your tan bandana. Sorry about that. I was the guy with the black lab. We ended up hiking up to the fire lookout and when we came down I think the OB group was away from camp. So we helped ourselves to some of your food and fuel. Kidding. I'm a newer OB member out of Paradise near Chico. Hoping to meet up with you guys eventually. Also wondered if the drone up over the lookout might have been one of the OB guys filming? Looking forward to seeing if you post any video of your time up on the Sierra Buttes summit. Also wondering if you came up the difficult side from Sierra City or came up the easier side? 'Cause the hard side was no joke. Cheers. Nate.

Nice to see a Chevy hanging with those Toyota's! Kind of made me laugh, the guys in the kitted out Land Cruisers with thousands of dollars worth of gear, and you follow them in your stock Chevy, LOL. I'm actually looking to upgrade to a full-size Chevy from my 5th gen 4Runner actually. Kind of tired of seeing all the Toyotas, and I want V8 power. I'm thinking of a mid 2000 Tahoe, there's still plenty of them around so they're cheap enough that I can beat on it without worrying about hurting it, unlike my 4Runner.
