very important note- I'm not trying to complain or be negative, I just wanted to give my real and honest thoughts, both positive and negative. This is the first day that the game has been out as a complete game, and its the first day after a huge update, so there's bound to be some issues! overall, I love this game and the dev team behind it, and in no way do I intend for this to be a complaint, the update is still very good, just a little bit lackluster in my opinion

I agree with you. I’ve picked up ariya and the up special don’t always follow thru or position them properly. And it does make a difference in finishing ring outs

As a lvl 23 PJ Finn Enthusiast, I’m actually really glad for the Finn nerfs. All my true combos still work, and actually feel MORE rewarding to land!

Now I can play Finn again while not being instantly considered a meta slave (though since there were almost no Finns at Evo I guess he wasn't that op to begin with)
Everytime I play it's never been anything but Finns lol
He wasn’t op at all but rather people just found him annoying and complained until he got nerfed so hard that they broke his hitboxes and made it impossible for him to hit anything.
As a Finn main I feel like they made him more balanced and not as annoying, I can still combo with him and he’s still fun to use and really good, the only problem i have is that the backpack is inconsistent it would kill at 70 but wouldn’t kill at 100 at the top of the screen
Man I would ignore those players bitching and whining. I say play whoever you want as long as you’re not trying to power house with them. If you genuinely like the character, don’t feel bad to play as him.

I'm gonna go ahead and say there's no ranked because they're still working the hit/hurtbox fixes. I feel like after Wednesday or end of week at least after second patch, there will be ranked.

Yeah I feel the patch has it’s W’s and losses I preferred how the game felt before the patch I feel like it’s not as fluent anymore BUT I still love the game and will continue to make videos on it we just have to adapt to everything! ( I also am happy the devs actually listen to the community!!)

My buddies a Steven main. Love this slander. Lmaooo. That said, the bugs nerf wasn’t a nerf at low level. Low level players can’t whiff punish. They didn’t touch the hit boxes, knock back, or damage. You get caught with that baseball bat mid screen and you’re still gone.
They don’t have to balance the game around the top 1% of players. But there’s nothing wrong with having characters that are hard to play. If T&J takes a boat load of skill to do well with, and you want to play T&J, then practice up.
I kinda wish the UI had an overhaul to make it feel like it's the actual game.
Yeah I agree the bugs nerf didn't do much at all . It only hurt the top 0.1 % of the players who knew how to manipulate double rockets and certain spam combos . I feel like batman needs a hard nerf but I won't say much on that before ui changes , something about his hit priority is ridiculous and overbearing and bugs could use more of a nerf for 2v2s still like pie slowing shouldn't be an effect and your vault shouldn't come back that fast.

As an Rein dog main Rein dog got bugs in his ball form specially when Jake picks up rein dog and uses Jake's down special turns into a house or car rein dog would go invisible and iron giant pick up rein dog gives him stacks
As a strict Arya main. The fixes made some combos really hard to hit.
Side neutral, up-special, down air, up special, up neutral,
is now really hard. It's nice that up special is mostly fixed. But the combo potential seems kinda off now idk
iron giant has some visual effect bugs still like sometimes the entire hitbox becomes the default texture and covers the iron giant in hitboxes
I honestly think this deserves all the negative feedback, the game is still in BETA apparently, despite being in season one, at least that's what it says in the opening screen.
Plus, its the opening of "season 1", and the sole thing we got were a battlepass and skins.

I think the reason people are mad at the negatively is simply because its a free game. skins and the battle pass are all cosmetic and while a bit underwhelming isn't too much of a issue personally overall its a solid 7. i do agree with everything you said tho
as a harley main I really want to buy the battle pass just for that fire harley skin

@ 10:14 Cross platform technology is in the Beta stages. i have not had one smooth connection reliably with ANY of the cross platform features on any game. :3 Games like Multiversus, Mechwarrior, KoF XV ARE the Beta. Maybe in the next generation?

At the official subreddit someone pointed it out that Infinites combos like Harley’s have been shadow patched apparently too many true hits leads to combo decay where hitstuns disappears now after

I notice that developers in generall like to do fixes on launch before adding anything new because having fixes and tge new content come out at the same time usually ends up being bad

This isnt "full release" yet just season 1. So were still in beta. Thats why title screen still says beta. They wont consider it full release until they hav most game modes along with ranked and the shop working.
It felt like the patches didn't kick in until a few hours after the update. Batman's batarang drastically changed even after the initial patch.

Some of the changes in the patch notes didn't actually get implemented for whatever reason. Bugs pie still slows even though it's no longer supposed to.

also for some reason there is this bug with arya where if you charge her down air at the same time as you dash-jump you just get sent up to the top corner of the map.

I used to play Finn as my main. I really hated playing against other Finn’s cuz they would just backpack spam and that shit was annoying af.

imo, opponents having the ability to control their knockback to prevent the follow up is fair game. If they are out of follow up hitbox, look to catch them with the up-special again
except it isn’t them controlling it, it’s just a random bug that happens on aryas end

I hope people won't keep complaining about every characters, bugs, tom and velma are op but the rest is fine honestly. Just hope they won't just keep nerfing characters every update just because the community are a bunch of complainers, i'd rather they buff weaker characters.
I can see this heading down a bad path where every update the community complains about a different character until they nerf every single character into the ground.

Agreed. They shouldn't be nerfing anything until they release the hitbox/hurtbox overhaul. So many of the issues in the game don't have anything to do with power level, just bad hitboxes (i.e Superman's fly)

It is bizarre af that theres no new character(s) at the start of the season. I only expected one but it would have been better to delay it until the 23rd and getting Morty at the start of the season.
Lmao I think the Tom thought he had his fishing rod perk on. He only started using his dynamite after dying when he wouldn’t have if he had that perk. That being said dude was a solid player, a surprising amount of Toms don’t try reflecting their corks.

Can’t be having a game with 2 playlist and like 3-4 maps and expect people to know what’s to come, but I’ve played loads of games that dropped ranked when their game comes out “full” but had major issues. Mainly talking halo but there’s plenty others. I care about my rank so I’d hate to get disconnected and go down because they don’t have enough info. I’ll def be glad when it’s here though.

Mmm in terms balancing difficulties om whether they should balance for the top players or the majority of players, I think the best approach since it's still a fresh game is listen to the top players. Everyone is naturally going to get better over time and previously "weak" characters for the majority will become decent picks.
The top 1% know the characters way better than anyone, sometimes including devs, so they should have a bigger say compared to someone with less than hours played. Once the game has been out for longer and the majority gets better at understanding the game and roster, then you can makes changes based on the majority

It is difficult to balance because most tryhards are going to want the toon they struggle more with nerfed, even if it is balanced obkectively, or in the eyes of pro players or, the hardest proof... in the ladders.

yep I agree, none of the nerfs in this update changed the op characters from being op, however I think the buffs brought a couple more characters up there with them
im mainly upset that with the battle pass, theres no free currency to buy the next battle pass, so your basically buying every single battle pass with your own money

Bro the batarang takes forever to get back now, even when we pick it back up it has a cool down timer.
the only thing that changed is if the batarang gets destroyed on the ground, it has like +1 second to recharge

Steven is underrated if you use his shield well
I honestly think Jake has been really underrated in a sense, everyone complains that Tom and Jerry are hard to play against in high mmr lobbys, but at least when I use Jake (top 10000 solo) I feel like he can be a hard counter to a lot of characters, including Tom, the fact Jake can deflect a ton of attacks from Tom makes him really vulnerable, but overall he is really good
