    This game has ARG level puzzles built into it. I rolled credits and checked out some end-game spoilers on the reddit, one of the puzzles requires you to scan the grass with a barcode. Not sure what kind of person buys a barcode scanner to play video games but the puzzles after the credits do not mess around!

    • @danomak
      @danomak  2 місяці тому +2

      i watched some of the other puzzles on a stream earlier, it's kind of wild just how deep it all goes!

      I mean, no one actually bought a barcode scanner, lots of websites online scan barcode images, and im pretty sure you can learn to read them yourself without any tools

      The obscure puzzles make this game not worth buying. You would have to constantly go online and see the solutions. You can't do them yourself. A game that doesn't let you see the true ending without having to spoil yourself is ultimately bad. It's mind-blowing how a good game just becomes bad later.

      @@SpammusXOof, such a bad take. I dont think you're a puzzle gamer my dude.

      @@pretz3lverse if by puzzle gamer, you mean playing games that have a built in bunny mural puzzle that forces players to look online, then I suppose you could say that. The vast majority of players resorted to a guide just to get to the second layer. At some point you're better off just watching someone else play the game.
      Animal Well: *Internet connection/strategy guide required*
      It's such a good and fresh game until you realize that community effort is required to get a satisfying ending. It's a clever way to foster online multiplayer, but it's not what I was expecting. I can't deny it's cleverness though.

    Rolled credits and realized the game is just beginning! Also I've seen someone saying bubble wand spam is probably an exploit, but I don't think so. Very often you are prevented from doing that either by strategically placed vines, or there's literally a bird that will eat your bubbles instantly. I'm pretty sure dev knew about that and it's just a clever use of game mechanics, I'd say.

    • @danomak

      the bubble wand is perfectly balanced, plenty of spots keep it in check. Bubble Wand + Disc jumps would be OP if they weren't so hard to pull off 😅

    Very good overview/introduction to the game. I'm loving it so far. While it might not be Portal, Tears of the Kingdom or AC Origins, it's definitely very high on my list of all-time favourite games so far. I'd also add that while the price on the Switch is not cheap for an Indie game, I currently feel it's fair, with regard to the amount I've been playing it, the enjoyment I've had so far and the depth of the gameplay. It's excellent.

    This game isnt so much as unsettling as it makes you enter the mentality of what a small prey animal feels like in a world of predators. Youre constantly on high alert all the time and it tugs at your sanity like that.

    I don’t know where to go or what to do when that white ghost dog starts chasing me.
    I’ve seen a couple of videos explaining it, and the route you’re meant to go… I just don’t see how you’d figure it out without hours of spare time for trial and error.

      For me, I left after realizing and came back later. Once I found the dog shrine and realized the collectible was a disk, it wasn't hard to put it together.

    Honestly, the worst part for me was a glitch I found with the bubble wand that allowed for infinite jumps (shown below)
    If you jump at the same time you shoot out another bubble, you can get infinite height/distance. That allowed me to sequence break a helluva lot, before getting the intentional ways to navigate areas

    • @danomak
      @danomak  Місяць тому +1

      brilliant use of YT's comments to hide spoilers, thank you for that! even if it was a glitch, i still think it was crafty of you to figure out

    • @blackyonbi
      @blackyonbi 26 днів тому

      I wouldn't say it's sequence breaking , there are many secrets that require you to do that.
      It's a mental mechanic.

    • @Hollandvancewright
      @Hollandvancewright 22 дні тому

      I wouldn't consider that a glitch or even an exploit, the difficulty of pulling it off consistently lines up with the game's balance

    I loved this game. Just completed the story about an hour ago. Not done with it of course
    Just give another opinion. Nothing against the games that do it. They can be great. It doesn’t literally discourage me from playing. But I’m very tired of pixelated graphics. I’ll bet you a large fraction of those that make the games say something like they need to go “retro” ,”old school”or whatever word you want to use.
