Max special attack is to give it some damage, since it doesn't deal much damage even at +6. +6 252+ SpA Corsola Hex (130 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Mandibuzz: 220-260 (52 - 61.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery and burn damage Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite Ability: Cursed Body EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Stealth Rock - Will-O-Wisp - Night Shade - Strength Sap This is just a standard Stealth Rock set. It works well as a physically deffensive pokémon, switching well into pokémon like Scarf Gorilla tactics Darmanitan (Banded 2HKOes most of the time, but that's impressive in itself. Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite Ability: Cursed Body EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD Calm Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Spite - Whirlpool - Will-O-Wisp/Haze - Strength Sap This is more of a stall oriented set that can be used as either physically or specially deffensive. at 4:08 "in proportion to the opponent's attack* stat"
i think galarian corsola and cursola should be rock/ghost types, we don't have any pokemon with this typing
i don't think it'll be underrated, eviolite pokemon are very common
Aren't Galarian Yamask and Runerigus Rock/Ghost? And I like Cursola being pure Ghost since the body is pretty much dead, but I agree that Corsola should be Rock/Ghost
No, rock is awful defensively, that would lead to a corsola with 6 weaknesses.
@@luisfreitas3416 well yeah, competitively pure Ghost is better, I just meant design-wise. But I'm glad it is pure Ghost since its much more defensive that way
@@luisfreitas3416 i know, but it makes sense

Marenie: What the hell is this?
Right! I could see schools of these Corsola just wiping out the Marenie who ate them
1:24 oh god this is scary
As I was watching this, I checked Giant's Mirror on my map in Shield, and, sure enough, it was overcast. So, while this was going on, I made a quick milk run to pick up a Galarian Corsola.
Thank you for making this video! I completely overlooked his potential, but he'll more than likely make the cut for my team now!
A few ideas for sets:
Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Strength Sap
This is a bulky setup sweeper that will be very hard to take down due to the combination of Calm Mind, Will-o-Wisp and Strength Sap. Max special attack is to give it some damage, since it doesn't deal much damage even at +6.
+6 252+ SpA Corsola Hex (130 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Mandibuzz: 220-260 (52 - 61.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery and burn damage
Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
-
Will-O-Wisp
- Night Shade
- Strength Sap
This is just a
standard Stealth Rock set. It works well as a physically deffensive pokémon, switching well into pokémon like Scarf Gorilla tactics Darmanitan (Banded 2HKOes most of the time, but that's impressive in itself. That thing hits too hard).
Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spite
- Whirlpool
- Will-O-Wisp/Haze
- Strength Sap
This is more of a stall oriented set that can be used as either physically or specially deffensive. The idea is to trap and start draining PP from the enemy. Will-o-Wisp can be switched for Haze to guarantee they can't set up or to reset Strength sap so you can keep recovering reliably.
I've been running bold for added bulk and hex for the 130 bp ghost attack because you run Will-o-wisp on this adorable little demon.
From now on I'm running Knock off & Taunt on my pokemon. Itd be a nightmare going up against this pokemon otherwise.
@@captaindre536 Knock Off is hard to come by these days sadly. Taunt is good, but corsola's bulk is something else. Honestly just have a rotom wash trick a choice item onto it and it'll be shut down.
@@TheMasterBlaze Wont lie that's actually viable! I've witnessed a good amount of players use that tactic on me back in x and y battlespot days and it worked sometimes! Since I love using unconventional teams though I'd rather opt for a pokemon with those moves since rotoms movepool is predictable. Hydro pump, volt switch,...etc we know the rest fam lol
@@captaindre536 Obstagoon can run Guts, choice item, and switcheroo. I do believe our new mon could actually hard counter corsola since it runs wisp 99.99% of the time.
They did show in Pokemon Moon that Corsola's where in risk of extinction too

Nathan Curnutt And built-in Disable.
Corsola: My time has come to be the new meta

I love how with corsola gamefreak is roasting the entire word
But what about breeding? You can evolve your cursola and still get more.
It's so cute!! Thank you for this video, I would have definitely overlooked it in favor of its evolution. Gonna try and go find one now!
"It's so hard to take down"
My Dubwool with nature that boosts DEF and ability that halves all physical damage: Hold my moomoo milk.
Sad thing it has an AWFUL movepool
I love the new corsola/cursola they're my favourite evolution line in Galar
and thank you for telling me corsola is shield exclusive because I didn't know.
I was lucky to get one through random trade early on in my Sword game!
yeah i tossed evio on mine soon as i got one in a rando, things a damn tank lol
Me too! Unbelievably, it’s Ponyta I can’t get!
reads one smogon thread and tries to pass this mon off as "overlooked" to everyone else.
Let's remember that there are far more casual players than competitive players. I think this video might be more aimed to the earlier.
@@THEGRAYGRIFFIN I think you meant to say "The former." When referencing a group of two subjects in the previous sentence, "Latter" refers to the subject said most recently and "former" refers to the subject said 'earlier.' Not disagreeing with your point or trying to be a dick just letting you know.
Bruh it can use Eviolite and it's already pretty bulky. No duh
tbf, Cursola looks cool and has an insane SpA, so the temptation to evolve is definitely there. But as you said, Eviolite makes this thing function amazingly on its own!
Considering how bunkers the metagame is right now, Eviolite Corsola is already very popular with its combination of (insane) bulk (it can survive two rain boosted Water Gmax moves from Gyarados !) With access to strength sap to recover while weakening the physical attackers, will o wisp to cripple them and cursed body that can potentially stop the sweep in its track
It is already a staple of stall and balanced
@@foofootoo two words: Trick Room.
@@rickmarr4478 one word: useless
@@kieranpearson5096 I mean in trick room teams, Cursola could become a threat.
It’s a shame Corsola had to pretty much die to become “more powerful than we could possibly imagine”
Although this Corsola is the Galarian form that died and became this
Dusk Le Noir Long Nah according to a sith holocron on Mandalor, Master Chief bought Johto Corsola from a local Target during his time in Hogwarts. It was there that it died in a skirmish against the Viet Kong when they were on their way to rescue Princess Peach from the Wiki Tiki

Corsola is one of my favourite pokemon 😢 so glad to see it being appreciated more 💞💞
We all know he’s not evolving it to preserve the cuteness

Or...OR...just go to the move relearner. There's one in every Pokemon center.
@@AirahsELL The point isn't that the move is bad. Its just that curse makes the pokemon harder to catch as it can K.O itself
Or breeding
You have access to quick balls and the corsola won’t kill itself immediately with curse at level 60, you should be fine
I heard about Galarian Corsola being EXTREMELY defensive. But, when I fought against someone who had on on his team today, I realized it was like fighting a Toxapex all over again!!!! I need to make sure this never happens again, so I need to find a way to counter Corsola's Galarian form.
Knock off? Rillaboom gets it by level up and if you want to run a grassy terrain team it’s pretty good.
For those of you who don’t know the Eviolite can be obtained by fighting a Pokémon breeder in Ballonlea village.
