husbands just starting this story - 6 Oct. 23 Mega World I believe is building Mactan New Town which is about 6 or 8 blocks down the road from our home. We looked at some of the new condo rooms, kind of like a sardine for space unless you are used to that small a living area. I would get depressed quickly being so closed in.-
It would not be a good thing to replicate another place because then the place loses its identity but there is nothing wrong to get inspirations from another place.
Yeah, I agree no where close to compare San francisco. I grew up in San Francisco Just the size of downtown San fran is Huge and still Get lost sometimes when I go there. and then when you add the surroundings of tourist spot of San Fran like Fishermans Wharf, pier 39 ALCATRAZ, Bay bridge, golden gate bridge and the list goes on and it's sorrounded by water all the way to South San francisco by the airport. and the history also that goes with the city it's beyond the comparison. Lombard st. China Town , COIT TOWER to see the view of the bay, Lovers lane up in the hill and so much more.
Yes, yes, yes! Love how you explained this all! I definitely agree….you can’t compare the size. San Francisco is huge! Each city has their own unique charm🫶

I’m sure you’ve got lots of SF stories.lol. Rated R ones😂That was the first time Knox and Nia learned the term ‘nude.’lol🤭
Yeah! The mom looks like Iza Calzado and the dad looks like tiggahslife Definitely not San Francisco. Hope you can also visit Baguio city. The coldest place in the Philippines.
Awwww Ron, you’re the best!!! Ugh sending you a ginormous hug!🫂 We’re having so much exploring all the surrounding cities of where we are. Hope you’re having a great start to the New Year!🎊🎊🎊
You guys are not the only ones saying Eastwood City has similarity to San Francisco because of the high rise buildings and some of the architecture and facades of the buildings. They were not talking about the the tourist spots and landmarks.
I've never heard of anyone comparing Eastwood to SF until now!!!😜 "Eastwood City" or "Bonifacio Global City" are not comparable to big cities as they're more like lifestyle/commercial district communities within a city. Funny how your kids cannot even say the word "nude"! LOL My children are so used to seeing naked people at the beaches here in Europe (nude beach or not) that it's not even worth mentioning for them - stark contrast in culture! Also, in the summer, some locals would just lounge at their patio, sunbathing in their birthday suit - shocking for me in the beginning as a Filipino, but now it's just another summer day in Europe for me. 😂
Right?! I feel the same trying to compare them but not possible. And you are SO funny! You have me laughing out loud over here by myself🤣😂🤭😭”Just another Summer day in Europe.”🤪 I honestly had no idea that there are nude beaches in Europe. I’m sure there are nude beaches everywhere.lol. Knox and Nia still talk about the nude couple.lol. It’s forever engraved in their lil minds. Haha. Can’t wait to visit Europe. We’d love to tour Europe this Summer🤞🤞🤞
SF has no rule against nudity which is why I liked Pride Day at Eastwood -- they wore clothes and it was a lot of fun. Pride Day in SF -- kind of a lot of naked old dudes. BGC is too spread out. More fun than Eastwood but not the same community.
One thing you don't see in Eastwood city (Phils.) compared to San Francisco are "homeless people"!!. That's a "huge" problems in the US. I'm from the New England area where we also have "homelessness" problem but not as bad as Calif.
I don't get the San Francisco reference just cause it has a tram, which used to exist in many cities around the world in the 19th century and until the mid century. Then also one building that had an inspiration from a building from a different city lol I don't see it at all 😅 Regardless, it looks like a lovely city!
Yeah. I totally hear ya. I was trying really hard to find the similarities. But you’re right….they’re both different and have their own unique beautiful vibes👌
Don't mind at all let them say that if it makes them feel good. They're having fun. S.F. has so many homeless camping around and they litter the streets just like L.A. The Eastwood, BGC and the rest of the Metro Manila you can't see homeless living in tents under bridges and underpass like the California homeless. Now they have no place to go as the storms ravage most of California cities even coastal towns. I'm lucky I live far from the devastations.
Good 😊 Mom Duty n Family your content about comparing San Francisco 2 Eastwood City I should say buildings are okay but cleanliness San Francisco nothing 2 offer from Mission district to Financial district Homeless ppl are all around especially @ downtown San Francisco I hate 2 say it but I have lived there for more than 50 years n seen all those trash n dogs n ppl poops on d sidewalk so I guess u can't compare Eastwood 2 San Francisco God Blessed you guys n b safe ....
Oh gosh…sorry that there is so much trash and stuff there. That’s not very pleasent. When we left California, the city w e lived in was becoming that way. Lots of homeless around and trash too. And Eastwood is pretty spotless. Love that the community keeps it so clean! It’s incredible!
How I wish MegaWorld brings Clint Eastwood to Eastwood City and put another star for him on the Walk of Fame and statue of Dirty Harry or rename one of their Cinemas to Clint Eastwood Cinema! Bang! Hehehe
Eastwood City is just another City within Quezon City that is Western Inspired mix-use financial, residential, commercial community which by the way is prevalent in MetroManila.
I think some buildings in Eastwood have San Fran vibes. One thing though is that I will walk in Eastwood City day or night without fear but not in San Francisco. Also, San Francisco is kinda dirty, lots of homeless and crimes going on. It’s almost not safe anywhere in San Francisco, even in rich and tourist areas because that’s where the money is. That said, San Francisco is a really nice and lovely city to look at, not be there. I know because I’ve been there several times and my son used to lived there for years until he moved to Santa Cruz. Sorry 49ers. 👍🏼❤️
I think we feel the same way. In terms of cleanliness, Eastwood is definitely more sanitary. But yeah I can see why the architecture of some buildings in Eastwood may remind sone people a bit of San Francisco. Knox and Nia said the same thing you said about safety. We felt so safe walking around Eastwood.
There is no comparison between San Francisco and this place. I live in Manila and the Bay area and San Francisco is the most European city in America in my opinion. They have its problems but thats just like any other big city in America.
I feel like you look a bit more like Neve Campbell. It’s very obvious your children are the next generation of vloggers. I live in San Francisco but I don’t think you can call it a replica of SF. they need to expand and add more resembling tourist spots and landmark. They focused so much on the business district but not so much on the residential and, like what you said, the scenic views. Filipinos who never been to o San Francisco should never call it the SF of the Philippines. Kinda how I felt about the Venice Mall.
Omg I love Neve Campbell I used to get that form some people but when I was in my younger days😛💃 It’s hard to compare anything if you haven’t experienced it yourself. Good point! Ahhh that reminds me gotta go back to Venice Grand Canal Mall….love that place! We vlogged about it and never went back🙈🤭
The Venice Grand Canal at BGC looks like the Venice in Italy they have Gondolas and the singing guys handling the gondola and the water is so blue and looks clean not like the real Grand Canal which has murky and smelly water. Me and my husband have visited that Italian place years ago.
@@marijolivitzky4336 like I said about Eastwood you can build couple of buildings that resembles San Francisco but it doesn’t mean it’s the San Francisco of the PH. Same with the Venice mall. Having a grand canal doesn’t make it Italy. Italy is so much more than just Canal. What you can say, however, It is the Italian grand canal of the Philippines.
@@MomDuty Eastwood city not really a city. It's just a marketing gimmickry made by the developers. Eastwood is just a fraction of BGC and Ayala Makati. Eastwood City is a commercial business district like Ortigas Center and Ayala Center. Historically Araneta Center was the first modern commercial business district but Ayala developed faster and Ortigas followed and Araneta was left behind then BGC came and then eastwood. Ayala is the first modern when it comes to infrastructure , the Ortigas was called the little Ayala. Ortigas had the first Electric Jeepney running around Ortigas Center even before the national government conceptualized the idea of modernizing jeepneys. But sadly there's no more electric jeepney anymore in Ortigas.
@@MomDuty SM City North EDSA was the first to tag their commercial center to City. Eastwood developers just mimicked the idea of tagging their CBD as a city and other real estate devs followed. When Ayala acquired BGC they also tagged The Fort which BGC was originally called back then and tagged it as BGC today as Bonifacio Global City.
Haha🤪Ahhh just looked up Julia Barretto. She’s a youngin. Omg you are too nice! Wow she’s gorgeous! Maybe Nia will resemble her when she’s older. She looks mestiza 🙌🙌🙌
I don't know where people came up with the idea to compare some places here to like San Francisco or London and so on. And just call them the San Fran of the Philippines or the Tokyo of the Philippines and so on. Eastwood may have buildings that are the same in San Francisco but as a whole it's not. Eastwood is Eastwood there's no city that compares to it. But I will say, BGC, Makati and Eastwood is more vibrant at night than in the day. I've seen Eastwood at night and that place becomes a different city. Especially the area with the mini lake and Koi pond.
Great way to put it. Yeah each city has its own unique charm and beauty. It was tough comparing these two great cities. But I’m so glad we got to explore Eastwood. It has it own vibe compared to the other cities we’ve been to like Makati and BGC. And well said about the nightlife…..you’re right. They come alive at night! Gotta love the Philippines!🇵🇭
Its also my pet peeve when people say that a certain place is the *whatever* "of the the philippines". like BGC is called the "New York of the Philippines" even though personally I see little similarities, BGC is much more cleaner and less crowded than new york. BGC is simply BGC of the Philippines, period. nothing else. 😆
Yeah I hear ya. I think it’s natural for people to compare places or things or even compare foods. But I understand what you’re saying. Each place is its own for sure. We still haven’t left BGC by the way😆🤣Love this place!!!!
It always irks me whenever people compare places to other places. Like the "Paris of Asia", or "Venice of South America", etc. Venice didn't invent the canals, nor Paris doesn't own a trademark on large boulevards and avenues lol
The dad said, "San Fran" which mean he is not native. I split my time between San Jose (San Francisco's larger/duller neighbor) and Eastwood. SF is as s**t hole. I stopped visiting SF decades ago. Your kids were spot on that Eastwood is clean and SF isn't. To be honest you are insulting Eastwood. Megaword controls the McDo's franchise which is why Eastwood has no Jollibee. Eastwood compares to San Jose's Santana Row. The outside is called "The Park" and at night when it is cool it is scooter city for the 4-6 year olds. The other side is Citywalk. Paul Walker died returning from a fund raiser for Leyte. The concerts are under the tend and in the park. Cafe Claus went under. Hint: 4th floor cinema and grab a 100 PHP pop corn.
@@MomDuty I'm confused by the comment. Don't take it personally. You said nothing offensive (I live in Eastwood and I loath SF). I mean you did show love for Megaword which does not allow a Jollibee in Eastwood -- oh, the humanity!!!!!

Yes! I feel like it’s beautiful everywhere here at nighttime. I love all the lights that come up. It’s so lively!
husbands just starting this story - 6 Oct. 23 Mega World I believe is building Mactan New Town which is about 6 or 8 blocks
down the road from our home. We looked at some of the new condo rooms, kind of like a sardine for space unless you are
used to that small a living area. I would get depressed quickly being so closed in.-
Oh really?! I wonder what the square meters is on those smaller condos. A family of 4 definitely needs more space than that☺️
OH you would fit ok, standing up. @@MomDuty
Cool
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!👍
Go visit in Festival mall alabang South of m Manila.... It's a huge upscale mall with a real river in the middle of it
Oh we visited Alabang! Didn’t visit the mall tho😩Well have to go back and visit. Thank you so much for the heads up!
It’s not a river, just a creek
im first!!!!! heheehee.. Hi to beautiful family.
Thank you so much and hello 👋
It would not be a good thing to replicate another place because then the place loses its identity but there is nothing wrong to get inspirations from another place.
Well said🙌🙌🙌
Yeah, I agree no where close to compare San francisco.
Guys I suggest to watch the English blogger's video from the UK about S.F. He's exploring the city. The video title: HOW DANGEROUS IS SF FOR VISITORS? Enjoy.

Dope! I got to meet Jokoy waaayy back when he was hanging with a club promo group around 2001-2002. I still remember when he was dating his son’s mom lol. I met her at a car show in the around 99-2000. 😂… showing my age much?
Love the photo by the bridge… I loved in SF and still never got down to that beach to take a photo… one day!
Kids… I’m sorry you got to see the nekkidness in SF… I went to HS in Berkeley like your uncle did for college… I SAW MANY A NEKKID man/woman almost weekly. 🤪💀😂
Jason, you have the best stories!🤣😆What?! No way. You met his son’s mom? Nooooo. Tell me the chisme.lol. I’m sure he was cool back then too. I just remember him talking to us outside like he was one of our friends. It was so late too like 1am,2am. Man, that guy is friggin’ awesome. I think he’s in the Philippines right now too with his son. It’s a pain getting down to that beach but so worth it! DO IT! It will be EPIC! Cool to know you lived in SF. I’m sure you’ve got lots of SF stories.lol. Rated R ones😂That was the first time Knox and Nia learned the term ‘nude.’lol🤭

Yes, I can definitely see that. The comparison of the high rises and the facade. I’m sure they weren’t comparing the Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 🤭
More fun than Eastwood but not the same community.
nice video
Thanks so much Justin!!!!!
One thing you don't see in Eastwood city (Phils.) compared to San Francisco are "homeless people"!!. That's a "huge" problems in the US. I'm from the New England area where we also have "homelessness" problem but not as bad as Calif.
Yeah I definitely agree. We’re originally from Southern California and there were many homeless in different areas. It’s sad and feels unsafe.
🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭💪💪💪
Thanks for the love Alice!🇵🇭❤️❤️❤️❤️
OMG you look like Derek Ramsey 👍👍👍😍😅☺️

How I wish MegaWorld brings Clint Eastwood to Eastwood City and put another star for him on the Walk of Fame and statue of Dirty Harry or rename one of their Cinemas to Clint Eastwood Cinema! Bang! Hehehe

Eastwood City is just another City within Quezon City that is Western Inspired mix-use financial, residential, commercial community which by the way is prevalent in MetroManila.
We love the feel of it! So family friendly too!
You went to Baker Beach. That is a well known nudist beach.
Omg!!!! That’s Baker Beach?😲
Haha🤣Sorry 49ers. Who is your team ?

There is no comparison between San Francisco and this place. I live in Manila and the Bay area and San Francisco is the most European city in America in my opinion. They have its problems but thats just like any other big city in America.
Very true. I like the way you put it👌
She does look like iza
Oh my gawd….y’all are too nice😭😭😭😭😭
1st mom! 😂
Thank you Julius🫶☺️
Ayala and Ortigas are the first modern city and next was BGC.
Got it! So Ortigas is considered more modern than Eastwood?
The kids are at the age where they need braces. It's cheaper in ph. But if you travel don't know how'd that work.
Thanks for the heads up👍

Awww😭🥲🥹You’re so nice!!!
Because it's obvious that places/buildings here were copied from somewhere else. That's where that stemmed from.
It always irks me whenever people compare places to other places. Like the "Paris of Asia", or "Venice of South America", etc. Venice didn't invent the canals, nor Paris doesn't own a trademark on large boulevards and avenues lol
does your kids know about Jesus 🤷if I’m the parents I will talked about the knowledge of GOD,
The dad said, "San Fran" which mean he is not native. Hint: 4th floor cinema and grab a 100 PHP pop corn.
i disagree . ii will now unsubscribe to you.
Thanks for your opinion. Can you elaborate?
@@MomDuty I'm confused by the comment. Don't take it personally. You said nothing offensive (I live in Eastwood and I loath SF). I mean you did show love for Megaword which does not allow a Jollibee in Eastwood -- oh, the humanity!!!!!
