So beautifull. And she sung it in South African language, which made it even more exeptional. I had to hear it a few times, but then I could understand the text: South African is a very old dialect (from centuries ago) of Dutch which does not exist in the Netherlands so for us it is a foreign language we do not understand. But Amiras mother is from South Africa. Because of that Amira and her brother can speak it without any problem.
She definitely is one of the best soprano's ever , you keep reacting we will keep watching you cant go wrong with the classic's .Also try to get Angelina Jordan's ( Nothing breaks like a heart ) you will like it .

Amira was 13 2/3 when she sang this late-Victorian English hymn in Africans in December 2017 in her home city in the Netherlands as a guest of the same men’s choir for which she had performed “Ave Maria (William Gomez)” in 2015 to which you have reacted also. So, this performance in 2017 occurred about 1 1/3 years ago. Jeanette MacDonald, a famous American singer of operetta songs in the U.S. in the 1930s, sang this song in English in the movie “San Francisco”, a movie starring herself and Clark Gable, which is about the earthquake & fie of 1906 in that city. Her performance revived the song’s popularity. The entire concert with both Amira & another performer is available on UA-cam as is just Amira’s five or so songs alone.

I agree with you 100% Amiras voice and her control is truly amazing. Emerson, you say you love opera and tenors and soprano, well here is another performance by Amira. She sings a duet with a fabulous tenor from the Berliner opera company Sonnyboy, Dladla who is just a superb lyric tenor. They perform a two song medley, La Donne e Mobile. And Funiculi, Funicula. The first an aria is from Verdis opera, Rigoletto, the second and longer song is a Neapolitan song composed in 1880 by Luigt Denza to commemorate the opening of the first funicular cable car on Mount Vesuvius and is considered a classic Italian song.
