One player commented that because the V49 black keys are slightly wider than most keyboards, playing chords that need your fingers between the black keys tends to make your fingers stick.
The pads on mine are not good, sadly ironic as I didn't know how useful they could be before getting Ableton Live. Considering you get Ableton, Protools and Air Xpand included, this is a complete steal.
Dude thank you. I've been looking for a cheep midi that feels close to a real piano and I was really considering this one until you saved my wallet. Guess you can't cheep out on quality feeling keys!
SUBSCRIBED!! Having had the Akai a month and the Alesis a few days, I too rate them as "medium/no number". Probably doesn't help it's 2ndhand (Akai is brand new/think they put better pads on the MK3, as part of the upgrade from Mk2) ps first MIDI so yeah, learning as I go/little to compare to Update: have full 16 drums from keys c3~d#4
I do. I love it feels great. However the pitch wheel has recently broken (it also sends random gain change commands to the DAW) and I read that it's a common fault with m-audio keyboards.
Hey, I've just bought Alesis V49 after I've watched this video and I read all of its papers about instructions and I have a question which I couldn't find its answer. It says "Always make sure that AC power is off while making any connections" and I got confused. Normally, I don't shut my computer to connect my MIDI (AKAI LPK25 for example) but in this case I think it sayas I should turn off my computer, than plug my alesis to my usb port and then turn on my computer again and it is so so hard to do. Am I wrong or this needs to be done this way? I hope you'll answer this and thank you!
2:52 IF I COULD THROW MY COMPUTER OUT THE WINDOW!!! How can one go to the official website/have the booklet, read said "manual" and learn LESS than from simply looking at it???? IN SEVERAL LANGUAGES; that's international crime!!! "search manual" the tab said (magnifying glass etc) - entered "pads" - it merely highlighted words on that page, the only one mentioning it (eg "Item 7: pads - use pads for drums") Yeah, thanks for that... While, I'm here - how does one change the pad "bank" (my AKAI ha a specific button, no "combination of buttons" seems to work)? THANKS for the laugh and info
Alesis has specific software to changing the velocity.. Default setting is 5, you can change into 2 or 1... More easy...
And people say "Avoid the UA-cam comments section"...
Could I get the link of software, thanks a lot?
Thanks, reviews for the V49 were lacking!
Glad to help!

highly unlikely. it must just be perception. All the manufactures adhere to the same key sizes.

I thought the EXACT same thing.

No problem 👍
Hey. Do you have an M-audio 49 to compare ? Or could you offer insight on those comparisons?
I do, I've made a video about the M-audio on this channel
I do. I love it feels great. However the pitch wheel has recently broken (it also sends random gain change commands to the DAW) and I read that it's a common fault with m-audio keyboards.
I need help setting it up. I just got it used.

Thanks for making
you're welcome, thanks for watching
Can I play it individually without a software or external audio?
no, otherwise, there is no speaker on it to output any sound except for the plastic clickity-klak of the keyboard
nope there are 0 sounds by itself
Compatible Reaosn 11/12 ?
you mean Reason? It should work with any and every DAW
Does it support GarageBand on ipad??
yes for sure

Eh no, it says to power off the keyboard before connecting it to the computer.
Would you say this is worth $50?
$50!? That's like less than HALF price market. If you can, get it
