Nice video! I didn't need to unbolt the engine mount to take the factory header out (just unbolted those two hose brackets to make room). I did however need to entirely remove the engine mount to install my GWR longtube. Working around the header to bolt the mount back on is... not fun :(

Ten additional horsepower from a bolt-on header with no engine management computer retune? What a nice, round, convenient number! Where did it come from? The manufacturer? If so, I'll give you a grain of salt to take it with. Whether measured at the wheels or at the crank, ten additional horsepower should make an ND2 measurably quicker. Did do compare pre-install and post-install zero to sixty times? I'm not an expert, but it makes sense to me that if a header makes the engine breathe better, it must be running leaner. This hot-rodded four-banger is already running super lean and with a very high compression ratio: 13:1. I'm sure you are aware of the consequences of running TOO lean. I know the header comes with a lifetime warranty (handy when you buy one that is already used), but how does it affect the manufacturer's warranty on the engine?

Really helpful video man, gives me an insight into how the installation will be. Def will come back when I actually buy them. Also have some questions, does the CEL tune come with the headers? Do you think it will still pass emissions with the stock mid-pipe cats? In GA all we do is scan the vehicle with OBDII ports
How can you tell if you had a exhaust leak? Also did the O2 sensor complain and turn the CEL on? I got a 2017 MX 5 used from a dealership and they said that the CEL was on due to the exhaust manifold being replaced.
The car has a tune but the CEL would come on without the tune. Exhaust leak sounds like a "tick tick tick" and you would see black soot around the flange
Hi, I have the same issue with a leak at the flange - did you end up fixing it? If so, how did you get around to it? I've tried a lot of gaskets and it still seems to leak intermittently

The extension is for the header. The o2 sensor is mounted on the header and since it’s elongated the wire needs to be extended. It’s included with this header
I had the same issue with my JDL Header (chips & gouges in both flanges) though I wasn't ask lucky when I called JDL. Holy detail dude thank you for such a detailed install. Thank you for putting torque specs they can be kind of a headache to find.
This is an awesome install video. Extremely well laid out.
Nice job with the careful install. This can be done without unbolting the engine mount.
How?
Wow that’s an excellent video!! I wish there was more like this for other cars as well!

This is actually a really good question, I imagine on a car this new significant HP gains wouldn’t be possible without the appropriate tune.

Excellent reference video 👍
Does the engine block heat up enough to create a problem with the sensor cord? Your videos are very helpful.
The block probably not but the header for sure.

Vince had to buy a midpipe with a flex joint. That was the only thing that fixed it. I’m several years in and no gasket leak yet.
Did you have any issues with the o2 sensor cord getting hot? Thanks for the video.
No. Just needs to be appropriately routed to avoid co tact

Most canned and custom tunes can do this.

Pf duh state by state 😅
Was installing the header worth it?
How much does this weigh compared to stock?
We did not weigh it.
Does that header remove the cat? Kind of looks like it, any tuning required and what about engine codes/inspection?
Yes it removes the cat. Yes tuning is suggested, and it will give a check engine light if not tuned out.

I don’t know about that. I’m not a Miata owner. Maybe one can chime in? Or check with the Miata groups. Sorry I’m not as helpful with Miata stuff

It might. It’s up to the shop. Also it would only affect engine warranty

I’m not sure. But I think they are as these are made for 2016+. Always check with the seller

Yes, had to be turned off with tuner
Did the cel makes ur car in limp mode?
Never let it get that far. Tuned it before the CEL could happen.

Yes
Is that a stock midpipe?
Yes
