Vegamour was/is a game-changer for my hairline and I want to thank you for mentioning it in previous videos. Without you, I never would have thought there was a solution to help and went with your suggestion. Now it's thick and full. Thanks again!
@@kwoot07 Super simple. Every night I rub a syringe to my hairline. That's it. Started to see it filling out at week 3ish. Now it's full and I continue to use it every night.
1. Thicker hair 2. Chapped lips 3. Faded old tattoos 4. Empty hole earrings 5. Not smiling when talking to people. 6. Botox 7. Showing one of your favorite body part 8. Shimmer body lotion 9. Define jawline 10. Dirt under nails or skin cuticles 11. Clean styled hair 12 dont force your opinions on others I would like to add yellow stain teeth. You can do whitening strips.
I agree with this 100%. I do get botox for migraines. It's not cosmetic because most of the shots are on my scalp in my hair. I do get a few on my face but it's very close to my hairline. I've not noticed any difference visually (Medically I recommend it 100%) but of course who looks at wrinkles at the hairline.
I’m a dental hygienist so THANK YOU for touching on the dangers of Veneers. I’ve seen so many videos of people ruining their teeth. Proper oral hygiene is key!
I love how you are unafraid to state your ideas. They might be controversial to some, but I think your honesty about what works for you is refreshing. Keep forging ahead!
It's true because it pisses me off sometimes but at the end of the day they're just opinions so if you still like something after someone blatantly says it like that then you know it's true to you!
No botox for me. I'm from France and like many French women, I find that aging gracefully and beautifully is... aging naturally. With good skin care, natural and organic products, sun protection, healthy food and a positive mindset, it is possible. It's ok to have lines (wrinkles) at some point in life, they show we've lived like real human creatures with expressions and feelings and that we are proud of who we are. Not ashamed, and not wanting to pretend we are much younger than we really are. Of course if someone feels really bad about a part of their face due to a strong dissymetry or whatever, they should do what truly makes them feel better. But it's sad to see so many VERY YOUNG women and men changing their faces with botox just because they want to look all the same (Barbie? Ken? Celebrities? Friends, peers?). Or even more mature people who want to look MANY years younger, even though other body parts still show their real age. If you "must" have botox, then at least do it in a way that is very discreet. Hoping that it won't affect your health later on, and remembering that it can become addictive and/or have horrendous results in the end.
It's true that here in France we have a totally different look on it. By the way, I'm in France too. On the opposite I want to get some injections. The professionals here are incredibly talented and as we love things to be done here, it's not noticeable, very discreet. But also.... so expensive! When I compare prices here and in the US, it's definitively less affordable in France, but done with great taste. I love the way we perceive esthetics here (especially for teeth, compared to what can be trendy in other countries), but I wish it was less taboo and more affordable.
Hahaha the French use plenty of Botox! You should honestly educate yourself on what Botox does. You can't change your face with Botox- you can only stop the muscle movement with Botox.
The part about smiling is SO true and it even works when the person you’re talking to can’t see you. I always smile on the telephone when I’m talking to customers. I am absolutely convinced that the difference is tiny but there and people WILL unconsciously take note of it.
Lasering my tattoos is the best decision I ever made for beauty. Tattoos look beautiful when you first get them but they require touch ups over time. Not only that, the placement and style of tattoos are always trends, but the tattoo is permanent. So you can see people’s tattoos and have a pretty accurate guess about their age just based on that! Don’t do it! Your taste in clothes changes over time, so will your taste in tattoos!
I can not agree more! I have the Pamela Anderson arm band tattoo and hate it so much, I'm very self conscious about it and yes, I may look much younger ( so I've been told ) but it definitely screams 😱 I'm over 40!! I am considering laser but I hear it never actually goes away 100% and extremely painful. What was your experience?
@@gingerandnemo I’m ten sessions in and there are places that are completely gone and the rest is extremely faded. I got a package that is the price of ten sessions but they will keep doing it until it’s gone. I’ll keep going until then! It hurts a lot but is extremely fast (like maybe a minute of actual pain), and once the session is over it doesn’t feel too bad. I’m going to a place that uses Picosure.
By the way, I have a lower back tattoo. Of course. 😭 But I see all these trendy wrist and forearm tattoos and just think those will be even harder to cover up!
Some of your suggestions are about "looking younger" than just being attractive. I think getting older can be very attractive too. Aging gracefully can be beautiful rather than trying to fight the clock. Being young does not always equate to being attractive. And I actually think you shouldn't get botox. Botox is actually very obvious. Even on younger individuals. It makes you look older but as if you can't handle that. And it freezes parts of your face so you don't smile in such a friendly or warm way. Since it freezes facial muscles it can actually make your face less expressive. Like when people want to remove lines on their face but they get rid of laugh lines around their eyes. And laugh lines show you've had a happy life.
@ Nadia I totally hear what you're saying. I agree that aging can be beautiful & would love to see more older women recognized for their beauty rather than overlooked. That said, your botox comments seem to be based on extreme cases, eg, the Kardashian/Instagram type of results. I'm in my 50's & I've had Botox 3x. If I could afford to get it more, I would; it only last a few months. As a working, fit, healthy, happy professional, I always believed I looked as good as I felt. Then one day a couple years ago it's like i woke up & suddenly had wrinkles - NOT the quaint kind! I also didn't feel as old as I suddenly looked! That was huge. I tried Botox & wow. LOVED it. Totally could still move my face. Nothing was "frozen." It just softened those frown lines, forehead lines, & a little bit above my eye. For me, I think as long as my inside & outside feels younger than the wrinkles, I'd love to do the Botox again!
Haha - I’ve been a professional makeup artist for over 20 years and I can absolutely tell when someone has had Botox. It doesn’t necessarily look bad, but the lack of facial expression is weird imo. I always point out people on film and tv to my husband and my mom who have had Botox - they roll their eyes at me, but also marvel at how sharp I am LOL
I had Botox done to try to help with my chronic daily migraines. A lot of my friends said it worked wonders for them, but what I developed was astonishingly strong muscular pain all the way down my left side for about four months. Painful to the point where I couldn’t even lift my left arm past desk level…. Made it super hard to type or eat or anything. I know that was a rare reaction, but I’m not doing it again.
Studies showed that smiling even changes your voice/speech slightly. People will think of a person as nicer and more attractive when they’re smiling even on the phone.
Lip tip: Carmex was my PROBLEM for YEARS. Even the one you’re using sweet and beautiful lady. From a dermatologist view point (and for me personally- a cosmetology pro for 20+ years) Aquafor is absolutely the way to go. It’s not the same as Vaseline, even tho the active ingredient is the same. The other thing that works magic for me is “sloughing” the dead skim off: don’t do this if you have cracks or owies on ur lips as it can make them worse: just lick them a little, then rub with a finger tip until dry- the dead skin will roll right off. Works like a charm!! TFS ❤️
I'm 44 and against botox or anything you inject in your body. A good diet, a skin care routine, no alcohol and drugs, a good night sleep, good sun screen, keeping the stress levels low and exercising can make a huge difference in our appearance!!!
When the cuticles are dry they peel and we tend to pick on them that sometimes leads to unsightly nails. If you struggle with dry cuticles I recommend Kerasal. Not expensive urea ointment, you can use it daily or as much as needed, it made a giant difference in how my nails look.
I know I'm super late on this video, but I wanted to quickly talk about Carmex lip balm. It works really well, but medicated lip balms actually make you lips more chapped over time. Basically, the ingredients in them make your lips more prone to dryness and chapping when you don't actively have it on you lips. Your lips dry out faster, you use it more often, you get to feel like you NEED it. They make more money. Try Jack Black lip balm. The mint and shea butter ones are my favorite. They work amazingly, and don't make you lips literally dependent on them.
I really didn't start doing botox till I turned 50, luckily I have avoided the sun and was super oily my whole life so I didn't need it till then. It really has done a great job preventing any wrinkles that I might have had! I work for a big health system so I get my botox there from a double board certified plastic surgeon, he does an amazing job.
Try FROWNIES for your 11s… I did Botox and didn’t like it but I scowl in my sleep and wake up with deep wrinkles in my forehead. I use one patch every night (they are very affordable). It really has softened my lines. It sort of trains you not to use those muscles as much. I’ve decided to embrace aging without going the injection/filler route.
The "elevens" trouble can be dramatically reduced by using an emollient at night, such as the Carmex lip balm you mentioned for your lips. Apply at night where you see fine lines for a week and I think you'll be impressed! I loved this video, Shea! These are all great points, and when we look and feel our best, we are more productive!
What I like about these videos is that they are all changeable issues that we can control if we choose to. Saying something that can’t easily be changed is unattractive is mean, but that is not what you did at all. For example, I have a square jaw that I don’t love, but can’t change. You didn’t say a certain type of jaw is good, you said ‘jawlines are great and you should highlight it’. That’s what I appreciate.
I think everyone is beautiful in their own way. Right now I'm not on my best weight but I always tell myself I'm beautiful. I bet people really like your jaw even tho is not your favorite part of your body. You're beautiful have a blessed day 🤗🥰🌷
I love square jaws. I grew up admiring Leslie Parrish and Ann Blythe, for example. Linda Hamilton, Kiera Knightley, Lucy Liu, Helena Bonham Carter, etc., etc. Stunning, womanly, sophisticated.
Being kind, joyful and helpful person comes through in a good way and makes an individual attractive. A person can be beautiful, but if their attitude is bad, and they are negative and mean spirited, all of a sudden, THAT beauty fades.
Agree on Botox, it paralyzes the muscles. I had Botox for migraine at a neurologist and one of my eyebrows was pointed up for like a year.😧 And as a dental hygienist, I’ve learned nothing replaces your natural teeth, as you know. I try to discourage people from getting veneers. I didn’t know it was still a trend! Was big in early 2000’s. Very glad you spoke out about this Shea. 👏🏻👏🏻
Haven’t tried Botox. I was at a dental lecture (Dentists in Scotland can give injections for Botox etc and the presenters were Scotish). They were saying how important it was to inject the Botox in the correct place near eyes because in the wrong location if it travels down into the eye it could blind you! Just a reason to make sure the person doing the procedure knows what they are doing.
Odd. My doctor said the danger of blindness is associated with fillers, not Botox. This is due to improper placement of the filler; primarily in the nasolabial folds and less so in the glabella (laugh lines and 11s., respectively) Since Botox is a liquid, it wouldn't cause a block in blood flow to the retinal artery. That's not to say Botox doesn't have risks. All procedures do. But, going to an experienced certified provider reduces the risks significantly.
I think having crooked or "unusual" teeth gives people character and there's no reason to hide it (of course we should still take care of our teeth for health reasons)
I agree! I have slightly crooked teeth and honestly anytime I've mentioned getting braces or anyrhing to people they tell me not to because it makes me unique and looks cute
I have gaps in my teeth but they are straight. I thought there was an issue and was going to need braces. I literally lost sleep over losing the gaps. I even asked the orthodontist if he could leave them. Thankfully I didn't need the braces.
I took tetracycline when my teeth were forming, and my teeth were very discolored as a result. I was always embarrassed to show them. In 2004, I got veneers, and for the first time in my life, I felt good to show my smile and actually started smiling. That said, I have had nothing but teeth and jaw problems ever since. Veneers really do enormous damage to your teeth and health. But I have a nice smile now, which has made life better for me in many ways. I do regret getting veneers, but it's not without reservation.
So important to share. Some people get veneers when they have lovely teeth to begin with. I don’t get it. My coworker got all her front teeth done after she got promoted and got that $, and nobody has really noticed. I wouldn’t have if she hadn’t told me. Such a poor decision considering the fact that her teeth looked about the same before.
The whole smile thing gets me! I watch so many different UA-camrs and I always thing to myself “way do they seem so unhappy”. It’s because they are not smiling. They just seem like they hate what they are doing. Very Robotic.
I never thought anyone else on the planet noticed the same things that I do until this video. I've always thought that the simplest things can make a person look attractive. Then wondered why not everyone does them. It's so easy to run a comb through the hair and just looking clean is more attractive. I have been running late skipped a shower but still earrings, lip gloss, mascara and a quickie two minute hair style like a high ponytail in my case helped. We don't have wear all name brands, be a size whatever or have a big this or small that to be attractive. 100% agree simple things clean nails, smiling helps even on the days we had to use dry shampoo and only spend 20 minutes to get ready. Thanks Shea for letting me know there are others who feel the same way. ❤
Ok, this may sound insane, because it did to me when my dentist told me to start, but it’s a MUST TRY if you have chronic chapped lips. Mouth taping! Apparently I (and many others) sleep with their mouth open, which leads to dry, chapped lips. Use Nexcare strong hold tape for sensitive skin to tape your mouth shut at night. It’s worked wonders for me!
Thank you for your honesty! You look so wonderful, I didn't think you go through the same problems like others. It's encouraging that you can understand us.
I love your videos so much! Personally, I don’t think anything you said was too strong or offensive. Everything you said is true and because of your kind personality, you sounded like you really wanted to help us, not judge us. Thank you so much for the video!
I'm on year 10 of Botox for Migraine which is 31 injections in the face head and neck every 12 weeks. Life-changing. Yep great side effect is no wrinkles on forehead at 58💜
I was hoping someone would comment on this! I’m on my second round of it after suffering from migraines for decades and it definitely has helped. I’m glad it works for you too!
Hi Shea, I want to compliment you on your closet. I’ve been following you for a couple of years. Your closet is the most organized & beautiful that I’ve seen, anywhere.Take care❤️
I think Carmex may be the reason you struggle so much with chapped lips. When I was using it it’s like my lips got addicted to it and if I didn’t use it every couple hrs my lips would dry out so bad! I quit using it altogether and use smiths rosebud salve maybe once a day 😘
Carmex does the same for me. Im still trying to find what works for me. Im gonna try the salve out. But my son can only use the carmex tub or he breaks out.
Me too! I loved carmex too, but learned that your lips develop a rebound effect. Requiring it all the time. Switch to a beeswax chapstick. Noticed an immediate difference.
Contouring my jawline is definitely one of the top three easy things I do to instantly boost my confidence (along with doing my brows and a coat of mascara) I feel like when you say “Don’t be so Opinionated” what you mean is “Don’t be a Self-Righteous Jerk”. You can certainly be opinionated while still respecting boundaries. And the teeth thing, while it definitely is true that bad teeth stick out like a sore thumb, it is almost NEVER a cheap or quick solution. I had bad teeth for soooo long, and I definitely don’t think people should feel like they’re unattractive just because they can’t afford/don’t have time to get dental or orthondontal work done.
Shea, I want to thank you for sharing your experience with vegamour. My husband’s hair was thinning and falling out at age 31. I got him using Vegamour shampoo and conditioner about 2-3 months ago. Wow! It has really made his hair stunning. It’s so thick and no longer falling out. You saved the day. I can’t reccomend vegamour shampoo and conditioner enough for those losing their hair.
I love botox, and I’m a nurse. I’ve been getting it since I was 40, now 44, and I love it. It’s definitely part of my routine, every 3-4 months. I also use organic skincare and rarely wear makeup. I consider it more preventative, and is very subtle if you don’t go overboard. I definitely still have a natural look.
Thanks for sharing your opinions so freely and gracefully - I appreciate your openness and honesty. It’s something I don’t see very often as fear of offending others often silences people from sharing any opinion that might be considered vaguely controversial. I love your clips in general - they save me so much time in researching and are informative and entertaining too. As a Mum of a newborn baby they make my sleepless nights much more bearable 🙂.
I recently got Botox for the first time. Only in my forehead (for now), but I love it!! I've been self-conscious about my forehead lines for a while, and just a few units made a world of difference!
Wow, i already really appreciated your channel and have been impressed by your advice, but I just gained so much more respect for you with what you said about how important our teeth are and not destroying them for the quick cosmetic boost of veneers. Hats off to you! Your teeth look beautiful, but if you’re curious on how to protect them going forward, my life changing moment for my mouth was discovering Dr Ellie Phillips, a DDS for 40 years, and her dedication to educating people on what our teeth need (and what hurts them over time). Her two books are eye opening. She’s a saint…so much free information on her site (Google), blogs, videos of interviews etc. Life changing for me. Thank you, Shea, for your jam-packed full of helpful info in your videos 🙏
I started using a free sample of the Estee Lauder night serum when I was TWENTY FIVE with no wrinkles and it worked wonders in just about 6 months. Now I’m listening to you talk about Botox and thinking I need to get another bottle of that stuff!
Shea, I love your videos. You aren't afraid to jump out there and say things that people should hear. I think you are beautiful. There is no clothing that looks bad on you!
I am thankful you shared your story about your dental troubles. I have the same problem and have always been embarrassed about it 😳 No matter how faithful I am to brush and floss I always have new cavities when I go to the dentist 🤷🏻♀️ But I have had braces, keep my teeth whitened and floss everyday 😁
Yeah. She's sharing what looks shiny and most glamorous. All of it costs money. Most can't afford the brand's she likes either. But you can get white strips and take care of your teeth! And buy c Ute I'm cheaper versions of stuff. You won't fool the rich but who cares? You'll still look very pulled together and cared for and that affects a lot.
She kinda sounds poor though because of her voice and being so dang loud. It's like someone made her feel unheard and invisible.... Squawks like a crow. Using the wrong part of her voice range and talking from throat. Could use a vocal l coach and will save her voice. I bet she gets hoarse sometimes and doesn't know why.
Thank you for sharing what you did about veneers and the possibility that we don't know everything about botox. That takes some guts and I agree-- I think it's very helpful to consider.
I had hair/nail trouble also. My doctor, a D.O., and woman, highly suggested horsetail extract. Capsules. I get through Swanson's vitamins. After 2 months of taking daily, my hair is so thick ( my hairdresser said, " it's like cutting rope now") and my nails so long, hard and beautiful, my husband just has me now on auto order every 3 months for my horsetail supplements. My dermatologist, (man) recommended biotin, never worked in 7 years, the horsetail is AMAZING. They ( a D.O. doctor) know the insides of body and how it works, knows her stuff!! She has a yr and half waiting list to become her patient.... I love your information, it's great info, but sometimes hard time understanding. Could you slow down just a little when talking, be do appreciated. I feel like you feel rushed, it's such good info and enjoy the channel.
you can also take biosil, it's the same ingredient (silica) that our body needs to produce collagen and keratin. But be careful with horsetail, they tend to accumulate heavy metals from the soil. If you take it for a long time I suggest checking your heavy metal blood levels, especially Cd or Pb, once in a while. Biotin works if you're deficient, I suppose you were not so it didn't make any difference.
Vegamours dry shampoo is everything... I know their ingredient are so much better. Im 8 mo pregnant, and a couple months in cheap soaps, detergents, and majorly cheap dry shampoo started smelling...well kinda wrong? Rotten? I can't even describe it.. but I couldn't even bring myself to use my normal dry shampoo (and i tried like 4 other kinds from the store). Vegamours? Still smells amazing... im taking that as a good sign! And it definitely makes a difference in my hair. I do the serum now too 🙌
My teeth were so stained from braces when kid and water in Texas , I’m In my 40s now & my dentist suggested them last year and I was relieved to get veneers on my front teeth . I didn’t know any negatives until now. I’m hoping the “problems” Are preventable or at least able to be fixed If they occur
Dear orthodontist....not all Veneers need teeth shaved, some are reversible! Sometimes I think ortho causes problems later on too then for some ortho alone does not solve their esthetic or functional issues. Just stating facts. Let people know what their options, pros and cons of each option then make their decisions. Ps. I am a dentist too.
@@LatBak yes,you are correct..I would suggest take ortho only if really necessary. Wrong ortho forces cause periodontitis, loss of bone around the teeth, mobility in the long run.
Thank you for being honest about veneers. I feel like way too many people jump into it without considering long term consequences. And yes, I have issues with Botox because it has botulism in it & it paralyzes muscles (that’s how botulism kills us, when it paralyzes the lungs). I am 49 & have never gotten Botox. I embrace aging gracefully. I do facial exercises to keep facial muscles strong & lifted, which I believe is way better than paralyzing muscles.
Coconut oil also and helps with graying of roots crazy awesomeness my gray barely comes out now snd my hair around my hair line constantly grows in baby hairs and does same for eye brows and lashes best on smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles add coffee or sugar sea salts you get a great exfoliator yup good old grocery store baking coconut oil in the baking isle so affordable and goes a long way😘
I said about the opinion / uptight thing to a friend today. He was complaining about dating always fizzling out and I defo think it’s because he’s so uptight / opinionated. He’s a bright guy and very interesting but once you get him into his soap box he get slippery and is hard to be around. I think it’s about reading the room really
I get chapped lips around my cycle. Morning gentle scrub + twice daily application of natural oils & sunscreen. I agree with the not great teeth and still smiling! I've had seven removals (3 so crowded the kids called me vampire + all 4 almost-impacted wisdom) + a lot of scrape and fills + gums intermittenly cranky... UGH. I still smiled.
I struggle with chapped lips, one thing I read years ago was that most lip balms like chap stick has an ingredient that actually dries out your lips, it’s the first ingredient in most lip balms, Carmen is mostly for when you have a cold sore or your lips are cracked, burts bees is one that doesn’t have that ingredient, since I started using burts years ago I use it a lot less often, I do use the lip thing you showed after brushing my teeth in the morning, I also use a lip mask at night which helps so much. I rarely have extremely chapped lips since switching to burts and using the mask at night. A coworker of mine had veneers when she was in her late teens, her parents paid for it, she didn’t have the money to redo them in her 30s, her top teeth weren’t too bad but her bottom ones you couldn’t see something was off. Sadly it costs $10k+ every 10 ish years to maintain. Whitening your teeth helps, even if they aren’t straight, crooked whiter teeth always look better than doing nothing if you can’t afford braces or veneers.
I’m guessing your hairline in 2015 may have been due to recent hormonal changes from pregnancy or something, is that true? If that is, then your hairline most likely would have returned to normal eventually. I’m just doubting it would make a lick of difference for someone older. Your thoughts?
@@amirafadlallah6741 There is Minoxidil. But that's the only FDA approved over the counter treatment. I've never looked into Vegamour's ingredients so it might contain it. It's available in a generic form so it would probably be cheaper than Vegamour.
Thanks for the tip about vegamour! I have been noticing my hair on top becoming thinner (too many cheap colorings 🤦♀️) and was wondering what I'd do! Excited to check them out! 😍
Yes it's important to wear something in your ear lobes every day . Not only don't the empyty holes look good, but your holes will kind of "close in"afer a while, even a week makes a difference., Believe me I've once experienced it during a hoiliday on a remote island, where I hadn't taken any jewels along. My ear holes had closed in and when back home I had to really push hard to open them again !
I started taking a supplement to block extra hormones (I have PCOS) and my missing hair is growing back (about half of my scalp at this point). I don't think that cosmetic would help me, and those serums are quite expensive. I second your comment - if you have hair issues go to the doctor, don't spend money on snake oil.
I use Neosporin lip health overnight renewal treatment therapy every night before I go to sleep and I no longer have chapped lips. It’s really a miracle!! I only use the round little tub.
✨ SHEA!! Yes!! Earrings!!!! I always say that as well…… If I don’t put my earrings on… Even though my long hair hides my ears most of the time… I feel naked. It just doesn’t look good… I totally agree with you!☺️💪🏼 Botox- I would totally do it if I felt it was necessary… I am 51… I’ve gotten lip fillers… Nothing crazy but just a nice little enhancement… And I probably will keep up with that… A little bit of that here and there to make you feel good… Why not? Love you!!
I have a tattoo & it is on my lower back. I got it after my youngest was born & the lower back was real popular then. He will be 21 in December. Lol So yes it needs to be updated! I actually wore a crop top the other day & that alone was controversial for me being 49 but my boy’s girlfriends assured me I could wear it & it looked good. However, one last look in the mirror I noticed my tattoo & I did think man I need to have it updated. It looks not ideal. My husband doesn’t like tattoos & just wants me to let it fade but that is not how it works & I do like it. It’s 3 butterflies in my boys birthstone colors (I have 3 boys, aquamarine, peridot & blue topaz). So it was real pretty at one time. I’m not having it removed so I it must be updated! I think I’m going to make an appointment this week! The husband is just going to have to deal with it! 😆
Those lip scrub brushes look right up my alley! TFS! A great lip scrub is dipping your finger in olive oil and then brown sugar, gently scrubbing the lips to exfoliate the surface. You can use those brushes instead of fingers is what I'm thinking. If your lips hurt or you have a cold sore, just use coconut oil straight from the jar to soften and soothe those areas. Dont use anything harsh or abrasive when they're cracked. Gotta baby your skin.
Yes I use it every night and all day. It’s the only thing that works on my lips. I’ve tried everything from name brand to drug store and I always go back to Aquaphor healing ointment.
this video was refreshing! Please make more like it. I have been getting Botox since I was 37. I am now 52. My advice is to go to a doctors office and have a surgeon do it not at a Mehdi spa. The surgeons or more technical and I trust them more with a needle. The cost of Botox is less than the cost of all those face creams. I do you skin cream but not the super expensive ones. And how you say eye creams dont do anything, they don’t. So I Botox. When you’re ready to try it just get the minimal for those 11s. You’re a little young yet. I was told if I start early I will have less lines which I do. I get it done 2 to 3 times a year and spend $300-$400 each time
These tips are great except one I have to mention (besides the botox! :O ) and that's the one about smiling so much. I actually have a problem with this because I've personally seen the damage it makes, especially in the work place and in a competitive environment, when a woman smiles too much and out of synch with what's going on. And I know this will be an unpopular thing to say but I'll just throw it in here because in the real world, especially in the corporate and in the academic world, this is true. When a person smiles too much people don't respect them as much but that's not something they'd ever confess to one's face. And that is especially true and detrimental for women. A woman should not behave in such a people-pleasing or non-serious manner that she will look weak, or a push over, dumb or simply not dignified enough. She'll not be taken as seriously as an individual. Especially not by men. She'll often be underestimated and not progress as far careerwise. I've seen that happen. It can make one look clownish and dumb to smile when the subject is not meant to be amusing or casual. This happens a lot in business meetings, look around and see all the men being professional and serious (and being taken seriously) and the women just stand there smiling goofily so they typically get interrupted or disregarded, and their input gets dismissed. I just mentally facepalm myself when I see that kind of self-sabotage and they don't even notice it. That smiling "obligation" has always been very detrimental for women. The origin of that goes back to the time when women had to jump through a few hoops just to attract and please a male, because they were not allowed to earn a living. So there was popular "female conduct" literature such as Charles Allen's "The Polite Lady" (1760) instructing women to always smile, to please, as a way of not being assertive, bold or defiant. Hence the emphasis on always smiling. Because that's basically Omega behaviour that would please a male. Notice how men rarely smile when they talk and for that reason they are (traditionally) associated with rationality, credibility and reliability. While women are so hung up on putting on all kinds of facial expressions, even exaggerated expressions, that they are associated with being overly emotional, irrational, silly and even stupid. Usually the butt of men's jokes. So actually smiling less is definitely a leaf to take from the men's book. Sorry for the long post, but for such a simple and virtually harmless behaviour, smiling so often does more harm than good to a woman's credibility and how rational and capable she will be considered by her peers. I'm not saying women should not smile, but they should find a balance and discern that not all occasions and contexts call for smiling or an outward expression of emotion. And they should definitely not be smiling if they are talking to a person who is not smiling back at them - that's an underdog behaviour.
I've noticed this in group social situations with my friends. The sour puss females are the ones people try hardest to get close to or squeeze an inkling of a smile out of. They usually speak less and when they do they are listened to by everyone. Males really respect them a lot more especially. Total opposite of me, I naturally love to talk and smile.... And I've been the brunt of "jokes" that aren't really funny to me but are to others at my expense. Have started being quieter and smiling less when I think of it, reminding myself not every thought in my head needs to be heard by others, and those jokes have stopped. Also it allows me to observe others' behavior and body language more... Analyze whats really going on with a person when their words don't match everything else they're doing. Pretty interesting.
Take care of your skin from your early teens, use sunscreen and embrace your life, be happy you are breathing! The best thing in the world is to have birthdays and laugh every day. Botox freaks me out, I know everyone says its wonderful but honestly I have no interest in injecting it into me. We will all hopefully get old and anyone that has not had that pleasure I can bet you they would not say I wish I had injected more botox. Great video!
I am in my forties and I get botox in my forehead, not because of wrinkles but because I naturally have such strong muscles along my eyebrows that make me look mad all the time. At work people would always ask if I was having a bad day and my kids friends would ask them why their mom looks so mad all the time. It has been wonderful to look like a happier person because I am happy:)
I agree about the smiling when you’re talking thing. I have RBF and I’ve gotten better about smiling in general so that people don’t take me so dang serious all the time! 😁😁😁
Have you ever tried a hair skin and nails supplement? I'm taking one and I now have more lashes! Didn't even expect it. And less lip peeling and craving! Two months in. Started because my nails are weak and sensitive... These are side bonuses. Getting baby hairs around my hairline too.
My hair is horrible! Like I very rarely wear my hair up and when I do it’s with a headband. I JUST ordered the GRO + serum and have been using it for about a week now! Cant wait to see the difference it makes! Thanks for the code Shea!..always lookin out for us 🤣🥰
I have chapped lips naturally also and Laneige sleeping mask has been life changing . I at night and during day. I like the Carman and use it it until I tried the Laneige.
Try burts bees for daytime use. I can’t remember the ingredient but chapstick and other lip balms use something that actually dried out your lips and you become addicted to it, I use the lip mask at night and then burts during the day and the little brush thing she mentioned too and I rarely get cracked lips anymore. I used to use chapstick and it was addictive and I had no idea until I read about the ingredients that are in them that are actually perpetually the problem.
I discovered Vegamour because of you. It has decreased my hair shedding so much. And the first thing I noticed when I watched your video is how thick and full your hairline looked. Great video overall!
Just a tip about your chapped lips: GIVE UP CARMEX!!!! Products with petroleum-based ingredients and mineral oil will dry out your lips. I used to use Carmex, Blistex, Chapstick, etc. religiously throughout the day. As soon as it wore off, I'd apply more because my lips were so chapped. Then I learned this tip and switched all of my lip products, including lipstick and gloss, to ones without petroleum/mineral oil and my problem has been solved! Like magic, seriously. I now use Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm and Ilia lipsticks and tinted balms. NO more flaking or peeling. Try it! I hope this helps you.
I finally spent the $5000 on getting the gap in my teeth fixed- I lost a molar right at the edge of my smile, then my son got sick and died and I never got anything done with all the associated poverty and trauma at the time. I have another $10,000 to go now but just having that gap fixed has made a huge difference as I can smile when I'm talking :) Botox, I loved my first treatment, the second was a disaster so no more. IPL and laser resurfacing, yes.
@heather: I am so sorry for your loss…I can’t even imagine how painful that would be. Please continue to take care of yourself and stay well. May his memory be a blessing.
As a dermatologist i would not recommend using carmex, it is very good when you apply it and does it job very good, but as it has a minty sensation, it keeps hurting your lips skin, so it makes you want to use it more. it is kind of bad in long term, thats why your lips keep chapping
You can also just use your toothbrush to scrub your lips. This works best with soft or med toothbrushes, but your lips will adjust either way. This has worked amazing for me. Also pls do rinse out your toothbrush first, otherwise it will make the dryness worse. 😊
I agree that people who are too vocal about their opinions seem less attractive to me, especially those who insist their opinions are the only right ones. I find people who talk to much in general or dominate conversations to be unattractive. I try to listen more and appreciate opinions different from my own even if I disagree with them.
Vegamour was/is a game-changer for my hairline and I want to thank you for mentioning it in previous videos. Without you, I never would have thought there was a solution to help and went with your suggestion. Now it's thick and full. Thanks again!
Ahhh YESSS!!!! I absolutely love hearing this!!! 🙌🏼❤️
I’ve thought about trying Vegamour for my thin, fine hair. So glad you’ve had a good experience! Do you mind talking a bit more about it?
I’m gonna definitely order me some. At age 55 I need all the help I can get. Lol. Thanks so much! Blessings ❤️

Aging gracefully is FAR MORE attractive than forever chasing youth. Only the lucky ones make it to old age.
Very, very well said.
Yes! My hubby lost his life at age 36. Aging is a gift!
So true! Embracing your own age is the best thing everyone can do for themselves. This doesn’t mean neglecting yourself like some might impose.
A big one: good posture. This also means not walking down the street staring at your phone
Lol
Amen!!
Omg!!! That’s a huge one! The difference it makes is enormous! Changes the way people approach you as well.
So agree!!!
The amount of young people that are going to be/ARE prematurely hunched because of poor posture due to their phone habits... YIKES.
I’m a dental hygienist so THANK YOU for touching on the dangers of Veneers. I’ve seen so many videos of people ruining their teeth. Proper oral hygiene is key!
I too was glad to get this tip. I was constantly getting them. I had no idea they were damaging to your teeth
Especially new tech in cleaning✓
My friend want to do this, I didn't know about the danger, must warn her♥️
I love how you are unafraid to state your ideas. They might be controversial to some, but I think your honesty about what works for you is refreshing. Keep forging ahead!
Ahhh thank you Lara!!!! I truly appreciate this comment!!!
It's true because it pisses me off sometimes but at the end of the day they're just opinions so if you still like something after someone blatantly says it like that then you know it's true to you!
I agree. Her opinion about tattoos could be controversial. But when she explained about faded tattoos, I agree. I like her suggestions.
I’m 50yo and never had any procedures or injections or fillers. I look much younger due to genetics, healthy lifestyle and youthful attitude 😊
I use Botox and it looks very natural. No one knows
@@marietgagliardi everyone knows now...😉😂
The part about smiling is SO true and it even works when the person you’re talking to can’t see you. I always smile on the telephone when I’m talking to customers. I am absolutely convinced that the difference is tiny but there and people WILL unconsciously take note of it.
You forgot one. A sense of humor makes someone more attractive and you have that big time girl! Love your videos and YOU! XO
Also, she's not afraid to criticize herself. That makes her so relatable compared to ig models who only claim perfection.
Same 💕 I’m on my third treatment and one on my ribs is nearly gone and my arm is over 50% gone
@@user-vx2tu3lb9k I have a "tramp stamp" too ugh cringe lol but tbh I don't look at it so that one is not of too much concern 😅🙃
I find at least one thing to compliment everyone I talk to on. It makes them feel good about themselves. And I smile at people ☺
Some of your suggestions are about "looking younger" than just being attractive.
I agree. I’m 53 and going the natural route with aging. It’s a gift to age and I feel our society needs to embrace aging differently.
You only notice “bad” Botox or filler, for that matter.
@@maple_star I agree that you can always tell. Not that it necessarily looks bad but if you know, you know 🤷🏽♀️
I had Botox done to try to help with my chronic daily migraines.
Your suggestion to smile while speaking is a great one. It’s the first time I have ever heard that and it makes such a difference. Thank you!
TFS ❤️
I agree with you; aquafor > carmex ❤️
Teeth grinding and/or clenching during the night will cause the teeth issues you mentioned. A mouthguard has helped me tremendously.
Not expensive urea ointment, you can use it daily or as much as needed, it made a giant difference in how my nails look.
for chapped lips, i use lanolips lemonade it dissolves dead skin on lips & moisturizing too! put on overnight & wake up fresh! xx
I LOVE Botox. Yes, it's imperative that the "Injector" is skilled...
I’m 50, dry and don’t avoid the sun yet I barely look 40- genetics🤷🏼♀️
My mom has oily skin and so do I. She is almost 50 but looks likes shes 35- 40. It gives me hope.
Carmex, really?! I’m going to have to try this!
@@cm7393 You are too kind- thank you!
@@edennis8578 You are very kind, thank you. I love oval and round faces, because any hair looks good with them.
Being kind, joyful and helpful person comes through in a good way and makes an individual attractive. A person can be beautiful, but if their attitude is bad, and they are negative and mean spirited, all of a sudden, THAT beauty fades.
Agree on Botox, it paralyzes the muscles. I had Botox for migraine at a neurologist and one of my eyebrows was pointed up for like a year.😧
And as a dental hygienist, I’ve learned nothing replaces your natural teeth, as you know.
@@dash_rabbit you are correct. I think the op is getting botox confused with fillers
This girl chat is why I subscribed years ago. Keeping it real in the UA-cam world. Love you Shea 💜
I agree within reason... Depends on how the person feels about it too! Whitening really looks better too but too bright looks freaky. Lol
I have gaps in my teeth but they are straight. I thought there was an issue and was going to need braces. I literally lost sleep over losing the gaps. I even asked the orthodontist if he could leave them. Thankfully I didn't need the braces.
Nah I don't agree theeth are the most important for a beautiful smile
VERY interesting video, Shea! I LOVE your brutal honesty!!!
Even when you’re being brutally honest you still bring so much positive vibes 💕💕💕 Love you 💕💕
The whole smile thing gets me!

I quit using it altogether and use smiths rosebud salve maybe once a day 😘
I had the same problem! I quit Carmex a few years ago and my lips are so much better.

I feel like when you say “Don’t be so Opinionated” what you mean is “Don’t be a Self-Righteous Jerk”.
So happy I did Botox on my 11 lines! It was only 5 pinches and my face looks so much better and brighter! I highly recommend it!

Wow, i already really appreciated your channel and have been impressed by your advice, but I just gained so much more respect for you with what you said about how important our teeth are and not destroying them for the quick cosmetic boost of veneers.
Girl your jawline trick STRAIGHT. UP. CHANGED. MY. LIFE. Lol it just needed a little boost 🙌
I do the serum now too 🙌
Being an orthodontist I must say what you said about veneers, definitely true.
YES! So glad you agree!! I'm terrified for so many people that are choosing to do that to their healthy teeth!!
My teeth were so stained from braces when kid and water in Texas , I’m
In my 40s now & my dentist suggested them last year and I was relieved to get veneers on my front teeth . I didn’t know any negatives until now. I’m hoping the “problems”
Are preventable or at least able to be fixed
If they occur
My husband is a retired orthodontist. This has always been his opinion also on veneers.
Absolutely! I agree that people who are over opinionated or constant critics are not at all pleasing to be around.
So true. I have very fair pinkish skin that makes my teeth look yellowed. I do a course of at home whitening every few years
been doing botox since 33 and no regrets. one of the best choices I made.
Using the color red works like a hot knife on butter: in your lips, clothing, bag, everything. Great content, love it!
You are just so REAL. That is why I love you so much!
Love the natural advice you give! Kudos for talking about the veneers craze!
Rosehip oil works great on lips and skin. I use it daily and it works better than any lip treatment
I agree with the smile!!! Showing a nice soul really enhance the perceived beauty we have of people
I’m guessing your hairline in 2015 may have been due to recent hormonal changes from pregnancy or something, is that true? If that is, then your hairline most likely would have returned to normal eventually. I’m just doubting it would make a lick of difference for someone older. Your thoughts?
I have a vague idea of how old her children are. I think you're 100% right.
If you have hair problems go to a hair dermatologist. Simple cosmetics don't do anything. Hair loss in women can be due to many reasons.
I started taking a supplement to block extra hormones (I have PCOS) and my missing hair is growing back (about half of my scalp at this point). I don't think that cosmetic would help me, and those serums are quite expensive. I second your comment - if you have hair issues go to the doctor, don't spend money on snake oil.
when i was younger i looked old.. im nearly 34 & on average people say i'm 19-24 yrs old! no botox at all. just genetics xo
It just doesn’t look good… I totally agree with you!☺️💪🏼
Botox- I would totally do it if I felt it was necessary… I am 51… I’ve gotten lip fillers… Nothing crazy but just a nice little enhancement… And I probably will keep up with that… A little bit of that here and there to make you feel good… Why not?
I currently don't favor Botox. And thanks for your information on veneers. I actually had no idea 💡.
Totally agree about the tats, earrings, and smiling.
If u haven't already, Aquaphor healing ointment (NOT the one designed for lips) is amazing for healing chapped lips.
Yes! My old band professor said this for trumpet players!
I get it done 2 to 3 times a year and spend $300-$400 each time
Some of the best stuff for lips is nipple cream, that you use when nursing. Lanolin is a good brand and it lasts forever.
Thank you for this interesting comment. It isn’t an idea I’ve heard before. You’ve challenged me to think differently about this.
Thank you so much. This is gonna change me, thank you.
All these yes!!!!! Especially smiling!, so many people look mad all the time!!!
Thanks for the code Shea!..always lookin out for us 🤣🥰
Would love to know what eyeshadow you’re using in this video. That color is beautiful!!!
I really like your opinions on how to look better.
I love that lipstick you have on. You look really good with your hair up and that pink shirt.
I discovered Vegamour because of you. It has decreased my hair shedding so much. And the first thing I noticed when I watched your video is how thick and full your hairline looked. Great video overall!
I have the same issue with dry lip. Using the Laneige lip sleeping mask helps SO much! Would definitely recommend for you!
Yes I tried everything. That and and Cica plast by La Roche helped mine.
I have another $10,000 to go now but just having that gap fixed has made a huge difference as I can smile when I'm talking :)
Botox, I loved my first treatment, the second was a disaster so no more.
