This gotta be one of the most iconic Friday movie because of the likable characters, the introduction of Tommy Jarvis, some of the kills which are great, Ted White's portrayal of Jason and for having him killed, at least for a while
The fact he called out MatPat about the whole Teleportation thing feels like something just came full circle because Mat did a Film Theory about Jason "teleporting" which he probably started (and referenced) the fact James stated it in some of the earliest Kill Counts during the original counting of this series.
I just wanted to put it out there that I really like these recounts! I went back and watched the original videos, and it really shows how much James and his team have grown and how much work goes into all these Kill Counts. I also love the behind-the-scenes footage and facts James supplies that were missing in the first version of the counts. That way it's not just a synopsis of the movie, and people who have already seen it can get new info (and also laughs :)!) I guess Im just saying I love these videos. Great work to the Dead Meat team!
Been watching since the start, the change is huge, and I love how far he’s gone. Also he is from my home state and likes the wolverines, even better reason for me to love him.
Friday 13th ( original video) was the first franchise I watched the only shame is Friday 13th part ||| was already age restricted 🚫😭 but now we have the recounts
The guy who played Jason seems like a really nice and professional gentleman. And now knowing he doubled for John Wayne means he may have been in some of my favorite movies.
I might be late on this but I am sad to say that we have lost a legend, Mr. Ted White. I heard the news from one of my best friends and when I saw the post, I was crying for a good 20 minutes. Ted will always be my favorite Jason of all time, R.I.P Ted.
while my favourite jason actor belongs to part 2 Ted was a brilliant Jason and along side corey feldman made the film for me and hearing this sound saddens me alongside every other friday fan, if only the game still received updates maybe a gravestone could be added in his honour alongside other cast and crew who are no longer with us
Part 2 is on Friday part 3 is on Saturday and she gets rescued Sunday morning. Part 4 starts Sunday night. Monday the teens drive to the lake house. Tuesday is when all the kills happen. And it ends in the hospital on Wednesday
It's so fascinating how Ted White, who played the man killing all of the kids in the movie, was actually their actors' biggest advocate IRL. Very admirable.
@@Zacman1123 Just like Jason goes to Hell: *The Final Friday* Jason only goes to hell at the end of the movie and it's not even the final Friday movie. Maybe referring to its sequels that won't have Friday in their titles.
I look at it as the "final" film of Jason when he was still "human" to an extent before the second half of the series where he was full on undead/zombie Jason from Part 6 and onwards.
I love these recounts cause James tells us more about the behind the scenes of these films, I especially love that Ted White threatened to quit if they didn’t get Judy out of the water to warm up, such a nice guy
The Rob kill is still my favorite and most unsettling kill. The fact that he is so powerless and overwhelmed that he cannot fight back and all he can do is yell out that Jason is killing him is so messed up.
@Melany Addilyn I think it was based off of the murder of Kitty Genovese. She was murdered in the courtyard of her bulding and was yelling something close to "he's killing me" while everyone in the surrounding buildings did nothing because everyone thought someone else was going to help her. It's called the bystander effect.
I love that Ted White seemed to really care about the actor's he was working with! And the fact that he was in his 50's when he was Jason, is just crazy too me! Hopefully I'm that agile when I'm in my 50's.
I wish he was a bit younger. Some scenes when he's running you can tell that he's a little old. But he does a great job in his brutality, and really set the stage for Kane Hodder who I think is the best actor to play Jason.
I feel like Rob being there is actually very logical. The emotions so raw he probably geared up the minute he put it together what happened. So far, The Final Chapter is my favorite.
It's not one of the best, it is the best. It has by far the best writing of the series. No offense to Jason Lives, but that film has like 2.5 fully developed characters, and part 4 has like 9. Sure it has an overarching story, but it's literally just the plot of Halloween with less cooperative cops.
19:24 Am I the only one who loves how he said that? Because Jason's actor was Ted White and its like Glover's character was talking to him. I find it pretty hilarious.
Every episode has at least one line that makes me think James deserve all the money and praise he gets for the kill count. This episodes line was “Mister clean up your room”. I was dying when I heard that
The asides about Kimberly Beck taking care of Corey Feldman and taking him trick or treating, and Ted White standing up for Judie Aronson were both really sweet. Sometimes, I think the behind the scenes moments included in these videos are my favorite part 💙

What would’ve made the “COUNT!” gag even better is if the camera switched over to Chelsea and had her go “James!” in a concerned tone like in the movie 😆
Maybe he was asking Ted White where the corkscrew was then Ted White showed him where it was Why didn't Jimmy scream? If someone jammed a corkscrew into my hand I'd definitely make myself vocal
Apparently the “he’s killing me” kill was based off a real life event where some dude was getting killed over the phone and apparently said something similar like “he’s killing me!” I don’t know how legit that is, but still
It's still very effective and is more psychological horror than physical since it's all in the dark and it's left to your imagination how brutal is Jason going to town on him. Spooky.
It reminded me of an old news story too. Supposedly in New York, or some major city, a lady was slashed up on a public street by some guy (possibly her ex). She cried out for help and screamed "He's killing me!" but no one stepped up to stop it until it was too late.
Dude in a alleyway was getting murdered and screamed for the better part of an hour screaming and shouting saying “HELP ME! HES KILLING ME!!” not one person went to help the dude and there was an entire audience practically.
It’s honestly so wholesome that Ted White did what he did. I don’t think there’s ever been a Jason actor to ever do any of those things. So good on him.

A mugging had turned into a murder, and as the vic was being stabbed, he said to his killer “please stop killing me”. Zito said he was haunted by how the victim recognized he was being murdered and had a “conversation” with his own murderer about it during the death. He thought using it in the movie it would take all the visceral joy out of watching Jason kill someone by reminding them that Jason is evil, so he kills this guy trying to avenge his sister’s murder.
I can’t help but be reminded of the Imaginationland special of South Park, when Kurt Russel runs into a certain gang of Woodland Critters and starts screaming through the portal about how they’re… violating him.
While I appreciate the older episodes for being a straight rundown with jokes, I absolutely love the focus on behind the scenes, especially as a Video Production Student.

My theory on the whole "coroners eating around dead bodies" thing is they're constantly working when on shift so they don't get time to eat lunch away from the bodies. They have to eat while they work. And considering you'd have to have a strong stomach to do that job in the first place I don't think many would lose thier recently eaten lunch seeing the gruesome stuff they do

I love how simultaneously progressive and sleazy these Friday the 13th sets seem to be. Higher ups are pushing for more boobs and poor working conditions, but actors and some crew band together to push back and act in solidarity for other actors. Horror at its best is pretty revolutionary, so I'm glad that even in the most terrible of productions, there is a little life in all that death and cynical cash grabs.

With these recounts, it's easy for people to be like "James is just covering the same movie again. I'm not going to watch that". But I really appreciate them! Not only does he go more into depth on the movie, but he also talks about the behind the scenes of the movie, making for more of an interesting and honestly, unpredictable episode. Without them, it's easy to tell what the entire episode is going to be like if you've seen the movie that's being covered. Putting behind the scene's info from the movie makes for a more fun, interesting, and unique way of talking about the movie without just talking about what everyone who's seen the movie already knows. It can easily get repetitive and boring if he just recaps every scene and counts the amount of kills (no offense James). Personally, I love these recounts and I hope we see more older Kill Counts get this treatment outside of the Friday the 13th series. Yes, I would like to see more movies that haven't had a Kill Count yet be made. But I would also really enjoy to every once in a while see an older movie or series get a recount. I think series like Scream (which James has stated he already plans on recounting at some point in the future) and Saw would benefit greatly from a recount with behind the scenes info
It's good for James to do recounts, but at the same time he could put that same effort into doing another movie franchise rather than redoing what he's already done 🤔

It's so fascinating how Ted White, who played the man killing all of the kids in the movie, was actually their actors' biggest advocate IRL. Very admirable.
It’s kind of wild how the “final film” of the franchise isn’t even halfway through the series
And it's not even the last one with final in it lol
Right?
@@Zacman1123 Just like Jason goes to Hell: *The Final Friday*
Jason only goes to hell at the end of the movie and it's not even the final Friday movie. Maybe referring to its sequels that won't have Friday in their titles.
I look at it as the "final" film of Jason when he was still "human" to an extent before the second half of the series where he was full on undead/zombie Jason from Part 6 and onwards.
It's actually 1/3rd through this series
I love these recounts cause James tells us more about the behind the scenes of these films, I especially love that Ted White threatened to quit if they didn’t get Judy out of the water to warm up, such a nice guy

@ᴍʀ ꜱᴍɪʟʏ do you even know what cringe is?
The Rob kill is still my favorite and most unsettling kill. The fact that he is so powerless and overwhelmed that he cannot fight back and all he can do is yell out that Jason is killing him is so messed up.
@Melany Addilyn I think it was based off of the murder of Kitty Genovese. She was murdered in the courtyard of her bulding and was yelling something close to "he's killing me" while everyone in the surrounding buildings did nothing because everyone thought someone else was going to help her. It's called the bystander effect.
That’s what the directors were going for, they wanted the audience to feel horrible and sympathize with the character Jason was killing
Sadly Ted White past away on 10/14/22 Rest In Peace 9:03
He Was 96 Years Old Making Him The Oldest Jason Actor
😢
I love that Ted White seemed to really care about the actor's he was working with! And the fact that he was in his 50's when he was Jason, is just crazy too me! Hopefully I'm that agile when I'm in my 50's.
He's 95 now!!
Also the oldest actor that appeared in a Friday the 13th film.
I wish he was a bit younger. Some scenes when he's running you can tell that he's a little old. But he does a great job in his brutality, and really set the stage for Kane Hodder who I think is the best actor to play Jason.
The dog made the smartest move: didn’t even bother trying to interact with Jason and just GTFO’d the entire film
😂😂
I feel like Rob being there is actually very logical. The emotions so raw he probably geared up the minute he put it together what happened. So far, The Final Chapter is my favorite.

@@victoracosta4796 Yeah most of the teens in this are pretty likeable
@@victoracosta4796 that is why I think this is the best written film in the series next to the 2nd one
I love how James calls out MatPat because he made a theory on Jason's teleport, that was fun

For me it's, "No, he's killed you, Rob. It's in the past."
Idk why that broke me the way that it did, but I couldn't stop laughing for a couple mins
A "Kill Count" where James hits us with a "BUISNESS!" is just so much icing on an already awesome cake.
The asides about Kimberly Beck taking care of Corey Feldman and taking him trick or treating, and Ted White standing up for Judie Aronson were both really sweet.
Sometimes, I think the behind the scenes moments included in these videos are my favorite part 💙
I really like Feldman’s acting, but his Twitter looks like the ramblings of a lunatic and his career was destroyed by the exec abuse

Why are you recounting the Friday the 13th series
What would’ve made the “COUNT!” gag even better is if the camera switched over to Chelsea and had her go “James!” in a concerned tone like in the movie 😆
Yesss
I think it would of been great if it also showed Zoran on the ground panicking that James was swinging a machete at him.
@@calowenby1654 YASS
Yeah, that would've made the To the Numbers transition even better. And I think James wished he done that during an editing livestream.
It's quite sweet how Kimberly took felmon trick or treating and acted as big sister figure is very wholesome
Jimmy: “ hey Ted where the hells the corkscrew”
Jason: “yes”
Jason was just being helpful.
@@entityunknown732 He's so misunderstood.
Maybe he was asking Ted White where the corkscrew was then Ted White showed him where it was
Why didn't Jimmy scream? If someone jammed a corkscrew into my hand I'd definitely make myself vocal
@@RNCV-uf7wu aaahh I think you’re on to something
@@RNCV-uf7wu More than likely he didn’t scream because he was in such shock from it.
Spooky.
I think I heard it was based of what one of the actors/writers/whatever heard in 'Nam
It reminded me of an old news story too. Supposedly in New York, or some major city, a lady was slashed up on a public street by some guy (possibly her ex). She cried out for help and screamed "He's killing me!" but no one stepped up to stop it until it was too late.
@@oldspice051 You are probably thinking of the Kitty Genovese murder in NYC
Dude in a alleyway was getting murdered and screamed for the better part of an hour screaming and shouting saying “HELP ME! HES KILLING ME!!” not one person went to help the dude and there was an entire audience practically.
RIP Ted White, the guy who played Jason in this movie passed away yesterday 10/14/2022
It’s honestly so wholesome that Ted White did what he did. I don’t think there’s ever been a Jason actor to ever do any of those things. So good on him.
Kill count fans: we're getting Hellraiser soon, right?
James: *Awkward smile*
Kill count fans: Right?
Ye
Why wouldn’t he do it
@@felixwilliams1460 because he says after Hellraiser 3 they become convoluted and would be a chore for him to rewatch the sequels after 3, it's why James has said he's considering doing a kill count for Hellraiser 1-3 only (Meh)
Perfect time now that Hellraiser has made its way into Dead by Daylight
He still hasn't made the American Psycho, Psycho, Ash vs Evil Dead or American Werewolf on London kill counts yet
Ted White's Jason will still be one of my favorite portrayals. RIP
Always found Rob dead hilarious. Him screaming "He killing me." over and over made me laugh . It did take me out of movie for while.
It is based off Savini's experience in Vietnam where someone screamed that as he died.
@@user-jn1wm3tb8v According to the Crystal Lake Memories book and doc, it came from a newspaper article director Joseph Zito read.
LUISPRIME Yeah it was unnecessary and destroyed Rob's badassery
@@RNCV-uf7wu I rather like it. I think it serves as a reminder that Jason isn't someone to cheer for.

Great stuff Mr. Janisse. I love your work.
My theory on the whole "coroners eating around dead bodies" thing is they're constantly working when on shift so they don't get time to eat lunch away from the bodies. They have to eat while they work. And considering you'd have to have a strong stomach to do that job in the first place I don't think many would lose thier recently eaten lunch seeing the gruesome stuff they do
I'm pretty sure the Morgue at the Hospital I work at doesn't allow food in there, I know it says no drinks but I'm like 90% sure there was also a sign for no food too. Only had to go in there once though so might be wrong.
@@Werewolf914 still it makes sense. With hospitals especially getting a ton of people dying either in the hospital itself, on the way from an accident/murder/whatever or AT the accident/murder/whatever (The EMTs get there and they're already dead). It'd make sense they'd get alot of dead incoming and not alot of break time
I thought the idea was to show how numb they are to working with corpses that it's become routine to them.
@@jongon0848 that's a bonus. Like I said at the end of my theory if they're strong stomached enough to work with the most gruesome of murders eating while a body is nearby isn't much issue. Eating or not anyone who can't handle seeing a dead body will puke. I'm probably one of them because I've never seen one irl up close so I don't know
@@Werewolf914 If there's no drinks, there's usually no food. Don't wanna contaminate the body (or your food).
The transition between “Unless there are any copyright issues.” To “We are being punished” at 31:00 killed me
I love how simultaneously progressive and sleazy these Friday the 13th sets seem to be. Higher ups are pushing for more boobs and poor working conditions, but actors and some crew band together to push back and act in solidarity for other actors. Horror at its best is pretty revolutionary, so I'm glad that even in the most terrible of productions, there is a little life in all that death and cynical cash grabs.
God, Corey's interviews are just heartbreaking. It sucks seeing how much he was basically set up to crash and burn. I just hope he has some form of peace now, even if that (sadly) doesn't seem like it's the case.
