I came here to comment that as well. They put it on the bottom row of the level so that you wouldn't see the bottom of it go down each time - however, if you look really close at the bottom two corners of the question block, you can see like one white pixel at each corner every time he bounces on it (of course, the sound is the more obvious giveaway).
The builder suit / box one, I think I can explain from a dev standpoint (and this is just a guess, mind you). Whenever you swing your hammer, the game probably checks the place in front of mario for blocks. If it detects one and it's a breakable block, it breaks it, if not, you bounce backwards. Somehow, the builder boxes have a higher priority in the processing (or come earlier) than the mushroom platform. So if they overlap, it checks for blocks, detects the box and let's you swing the hammer regularly. Also, Frog CEO making an appearance, nice

These Uno Mas levels proves something that's been staring us in the face the whole time. The most jank object is not the launchers.. the most jank object is the "SPIKE HIT BOX"
1. Probably based on mobile v immobile blocks. 2. No idea what happened or what specifically was weird. 3. Possibly a slight variation on your position based on the speed you came off the edge. 4. Frame perfect jumping out of pipes are janky. 5. Ill agree that its probably the combo of the launcher and twister. 6. The thwomp was probably slightly down the hill. 7. No idea with the Yoshi thing. 8. The box becomes the target as opposed to a general swing. 9. Maybe Boom Boom is a fan of Michael Jackson. 10. Title said it all. Janky hitboxes. 11. I've got nothing. 12. Probably more janky hitbox. 13. My drivers ed teacher disagreed with this tactic. 14. I don't get what the strange thing is. 15. Timing + janky hitboxes. 16. I thought those were monte moles this whole time. 17. You probably don't exist to the warp box for a short while after going through a door. Similar to I-frames. 18. Good timing is all that's needed. 19. EVEN MORE janky hitboxes. 20. Bunch of stuff I don't get. 21. What was odd with that one? 22. Lets go with the classic. Janky hit boxes. 23. No clue. 24. Probably similar to the ground pound one. 25. More good timing. 26. This game has some weird rules for position tracking. 27. Clipping through the block probably works like the on/off ejection. 28. I love the vacuum trick. Not quite sure how it works but still fun. Love the Uno Mas series.
My theory why that Thwomp got stuck, is the slope and ground block placement, as slopes, from what I heard, have NEVER functioned properly in a Mario game. Coding slopes into 2D games is harder than most would think. As Nintendo still uses the grid system in every 2D Mario game (even though you can't see the grids ingame), and when you slice a grid block in half to create a slope, you can very easily get glitches with them. For example, with slopes and water, in New Super Mario Bros, there's one area you can use to glitch Mario into sliding backwards up the slope. And if you want a SMM2 example of this slope glitchyness, if you sandwiched Bowser between two slopes (one above him and one for him to stand on) in an earlier version of SMM2, he'll hyperspeed along the slope he's standing on
I think the setup in New One-Way Pipe Level at 16:30 is the same as the one that Wilfred used in Pickle Troll Level, the part where Wilfred tricks you with supposedly unenterable non-sus pipe, only for you to 'accidentally' go into it while crouch jumping back after activating a switch (as in On/Off Switch Block).
…TaAaAaaake iIiIIt SLOoOoow… I always think of that song when I hear that phrase now… …ceiling, not roof… Larry! The non-distinct one! ……3 or 4 pixels is a major boost?……
I actually am familiar with that extra spring height when bouncing on the spring but also solid ground right next to it. It comes up frequently in the music levels I make. Normally, when an enemy bounces on a music block, it bounces high enough to land on a platform that's 4 squares up. But if I have it walk onto the music block from the side (for the sake of timing a note in a different location, since I can't place two things in the same square), when the front part of the enemy hits the music block, the back part of the enemy is still on solid ground. Like in your video here, the enemy bounces noticeably higher in such a scenario - 5 squares up instead of 4. And just as an odd music level side note: If two enemies walk off a ledge and each lands on a music block at the *exact* same time, but one of them lands on both the music block and ground (half of the enemy on each of the two things) while the other lands only on a music block (so the other half of that enemy ends up just being over empty space), the one that landed on both will actually play its note slightly earlier than the one that only landed on the music block. So that enemy bounces higher, but also has its note played earlier. Just another strange thing in this game.

15:42 I can almost guarantee someone else has already mentioned it, but I heard a note block, so that explains the bouncing, but it does NOT explain why you can't see it. 🤔

First level as an opinion from a game developer: Actually, it seems like you can't pick up a coin if the ground you're standing on is affected by gravity (maybe they're 1 pixel closer to ground).
The course at 23:55 (D1N-3FX-FSG, Clown Car Go Zoom +1) was a setup that Shenzing used on one of their courses a while back (the old course was called Hyperspeed, but Shenzing may have removed it). It's actually really funny when it's horizontal, as Mario will just fly off the screen and die. And, it's even funnier when a Blue Spike Top is used, as Mario flies off twice as fast. :)
