Got the rp5 g3s and they are amazing. Also got the 10inch subwoofer and it rocks. Not using them for music production but to practice my mixing using usb contoller and they have not failed me. For the price they are worth every penny.
my first gen are still hanging in there after 10 years use. The freq range is slightly narrower, but the shielding and build quality is better than the G3...and no warm up period or standby if you have no signal running through.
Which will be the best pair of studio monitor for music production in a home studio which has minimum acoustic treatment ? Almost every kind of genre (70% EDM). Room size=12feet*9feet. My budget permits me the below options: JBL LSR 305 KRK Rokit5 G3 Tannoy Reveal 502 Presonus Eris E5 Yamaha HS5
No probs! The Yamahas are a little 'flatter' in sound I've found and the KRKs have a nice bottom end. So it depends if you want a bit of bass or more of a true reflection of the sound
Actually I have read that the Rokits boosts the low end falsely and the highs are harsh and the Yamaha HS's lack low end. I need a pair of monitor which is true but also it should not lack that much amount of low end after which I tend to mix more bassy kind of sound. I hope you understand. Actually I can't go for more expensive monitors. These will be my first pair of monitors.
Vishal Adhikary what did you end up deciding on? And I went to guitar center yesterday and I sound tested the JBL, Yamaha, and KRK all 5’ and the JBLs and Yamaha’s lacked bass, where the KRK played perfectly you can barely hear a difference in mid and highs between the Yamaha and KRK though. The JBL are overrated I’d say. I enjoyed the Yamaha and KRK but like I said KRK had better low end and I’m a hip hop producer so I might buy the KRK in a couple months, I need to save money
Gen 2 has a major fault with the black goo they put on the board (it became conductive)... I had to redo many caps on the board and it was a mess. Not sure I’d buy a KRK again. They sound great once fixed but reliability is sketchy. Not sure if they have changed their construction methods on Gen 3?
Would you recommend getting a pair of these for just listening? I don't do any mixing or anything, but I would like the music l listen to to be as clear as possible. Thanks
Hey i´m new to all this monitor stuff, and i just wanted to know how big of an improvement the KRK Rokit G3 5's would be to my very mainstream logitech Z323's? I do only intend to use these monitors for listening to music. :)
EraZeR Hi there, The KRK range of studio monitor speakers are simply superb!! you will notice a huge difference in performance, especially the bass response!! Kind regards, Jason
Matters what type of plug you want to use to go into the back of the KRK's.. I would suggest 2 1/4" cables, 2 1/4" to 3.5mm adapters then plug those into a 2-1 3.5mm adapter :)
I have a pair of RP 10 3 and 10s in a room 20 by 18 with 9 ft ceiling I am a Dj and I use them for mixing, I play roots/ reggae with a lot of deep bass and that these are a good bang for your buck , I use Mogambi gold cables balance xlr
After hours of trying to find reviews, I finally get a GOOD one. Question: when you buy the RP5 G3's, do they come in a pair or is it $150 per one monitor?
my new ones just arrived, thought id check out the video anyway to see if there is any differences, my old g2s blew, one was hanging on but distorted so i decided to get rid
They are powered speakers, meaning their amp is built in. Technicially then, you could hook one of each up and they would work togethor. However, as they are not the same speaker the left would sound different than the right speaker and it's not ideal. Unless you mean having a pair of g3 and g2 running, in which case that'd work if you wired it correctly.
Rokits are terrible for mixing. They are pretty good for just listening though. Really regret getting the RP8G2's. They are more of a hi-fi sounding speaker then an accurate monitor. I am thinking of upgrading to Adam A7X's.
Uncle Benja Cant go wrong with Adams and a sub. For the type of music I produce the Rokits are fine. I adjusted my HP and LF just right. I get great mixes but your right VXT's are my next pair.
I am going to buy new studio monitors, is it a big difference between Rp5 g3 and Rp6 g3? Can someone tell me whats the best thing to buy. (im a dj and a producer)
I used to own a set of Behringer Truth 2031As. They were good for home mixing but I found that I had to turn them up a fair bit to hear all the sounds. Was not ideal because it started to get fairly loud. In hindsight a 6" or even a 5" driver would have been better. I mainly mix House music so keen to hear what would be best for home only mixing. 5" or 6"? What would be ideal is a speaker set that reproduces all sounds clearly at lower volumes but also has the ability to be turned up louder without struggling. I don't want a separate subwoofer.
I have the Rokit 5's 3rd Gen and also have a TTM 57-Mixer which I'm trying to hook it up too. I'm using the XLR cables, and plugged them into my DJ mixer but all I'm hearing is fussiness. What am I doing wrong?
Have you checked that the cables and the outputs of your mixer are in full working order? As it sounds like there may be a faulty lead or poor connection somewhere.
Yeah, I checked everything on my mixer and also bought new cables too. Same fuzzy sound. Today I went out and bought RCA inputs for the computer > speakers, and I'm still hearing the same sound from my KRK's.
Hey guys, I really need help. How do I connect my turntables - a pair of Stanton T.60s to my mixer(Stanton m.201) and my Rokit 5's? My m.201 is a really shitty mixer. It has only 1 master gain RCA input. If I could make these 3 work together, I don't need to splurge more to buy another mixer. It would really help if you guys list down the cables and anything else I need to make these 3 work. I bought wrong RCA cable and got pissed at myself real bad. :(
Unfortunately, we'd be here all day if we listed all the cable options. What RCA cable did you buy? As a simple RCA to RCA should work fine. Or you can use RCA to Jack, or RCA to XLR.
There are monitor stands you can buy to place these on. For putting them on a wall you'd simply place them on a shelf or built a clamp to hold them. Though, you'd have to lace it with foam so the clamp and shelf don't pick up the vibrations.
if you get a better deal on either of the previous generations, take it. The slight difference isn't going to matter to most bedroom musicians and they're all still very good monitors. In fact, if you can find the Rokit 4 for even cheaper, it's probably better for cramped quarters near field monitoring.
Ill tell ya guys, losing monitors youve been accustom to for 27 yrs, THEN, tryin to listen to all these comparisions to decide what to replace them with is a NIGHTMARE!!!...Seems todays monitors lack MIDS...However, the Rokits are winning thus far...Main complaint in the reviews are that the bass feqs are muddy, and they're "colored" a bit...TOO MANY CHOICES nowdays!!!...Wish I was born in 40 instead of 60...LOLOLOL
The g3's are nowhere close to as accurate as the g2 6 inch Kevlar speakers. Wish I would have never sold my red g2 6's. They also aren't as loud as the old rokits. Buy something else
6 years later someone replies. the bigger the better! the smaller there ok! u can buy the 5 and then think later oh no i should of got the bigger ones. or u can buy the daddy which is the 8 and be happy forever.
Got the rp5 g3s and they are amazing. Also got the 10inch subwoofer and it rocks. Not using them for music production but to practice my mixing using usb contoller and they have not failed me. For the price they are worth every penny.
I just purchased these today, I'm so excited 😊 I can't wait to get them... KRK rokit 5 G3 and I'm so glad they are made with the isolation pads

The KRKs or the Yamahas!
GetInTheMix Thanks :-))

No they are for mixing the frequency response is very flat
i have first generation KRK ROKITS 8 , are the new gens better ?
just got the rokit 5 series which are very hard to find in foreign countries cost a lot more but worth it!!!!
Hey i´m new to all this monitor stuff, and i just wanted to know how big of an improvement the KRK Rokit G3 5's would be to my very mainstream logitech Z323's? I do only intend to use these monitors for listening to music. :)

Cant help thinking they look like a bunch of cyclops smiling
Thanks man, I WON'T be able to unsee that for a while. XDDDD
Muno!

Very informative
Everything suck
I already got mine
do you need to plug them both into a outlet or can you combine them into 1.
random question, are the g2 and g3 compatible together?
They are powered speakers, meaning their amp is built in. Technicially then, you could hook one of each up and they would work togethor. this or the Presonus Eris E8 ?
it's the inch of the woofer, the 5 is 5 inch, krk rokit 6 is 6 inch and so on
Rokits are terrible for mixing. They are pretty good for just listening though. Really regret getting the RP8G2's. They are more of a hi-fi sounding speaker then an accurate monitor. I am thinking of upgrading to Adam A7X's.
Pretty bad low end, even with a treated room my mixes always end up with way too much bass in them. They are pretty hyped monitors.
Uncle Benja Sounds like you need rokit 6's
V TheC Yup Love my Rokit 6s. Big difference than the G2's
If I get a 6" speaker it will be the vxts. Rokits are pretty coloured my dudes.
Uncle Benja Cant go wrong with Adams and a sub. For the type of music I produce the Rokits are fine. I adjusted my HP and LF just right. I get great mixes but your right VXT's are my next pair.
There is three different sizes as I see. Do they have names or is just small, medium and big?
H4LoCidE its all depending on the size of the bass driver i.e 5'' 6'' 8'' 10''
LOL these guys have the best prices. I'm not blaming the company GetInTheMix , I'm not rich - but I'm not broke either :)
I am going to buy new studio monitors, is it a big difference between Rp5 g3 and Rp6 g3? Can someone tell me whats the best thing to buy. (im a dj and a producer)
***** Personally I would go for the RP6 you will get a better bass response. They will be ideal to use for production / DJing
What kind of cables would I need to use these monitors with the novation launch key 49?
is there a way to disable auto off, to somehow wire it inside or something?
do the g3's have a auto power of if they are not in use for a period of time???
JTR yes they do !

That is very strange!? Mine are virtually silent, even with stuff plugged in. It might be worth getting the speakers checked.
Yeah, I shipped them back. Waiting on a new pair. Hopefully all goes well.
Got a new pair, working perfectly!
Hey what your contact so I can get my ROK it 5 repaired
Hey guys, I'm currently creating electronic/jazzy, chilled dance music any suggestions on speakers, and size for speakers? home recording type

@ daniel blanco, 5= 5" speaker an so on
Can these be mounted to a wall/stand ?

im going to buy the rp5 just for personal use i have a laptap can anyone tell me what cables i need to get please?
Bout to buy some of these anyone got some advice for me?

How do I connect these to my iPad? I use garage band
+thelolguy007 Garbage band? DAC would be nice if compatible
anybody else have a delay in sound when you turn them on ?
Ill tell ya guys, losing monitors youve been accustom to for 27 yrs, THEN, tryin to listen to all these comparisions to decide what to replace them with is a NIGHTMARE!!!...Seems todays monitors lack MIDS...However, the Rokits are winning thus far...Main complaint in the reviews are that the bass feqs are muddy, and they're "colored" a bit...TOO MANY CHOICES nowdays!!!...Wish I was born in 40 instead of 60...LOLOLOL
different sizes. search
who cares what they look like... how the hell do they sound compared?
You can't demonstrate the sound quality on a UA-cam video obviously, as it'd only sound as good as your PC speakers.
If these are too expensive then you are seriously broke.
The g3's are nowhere close to as accurate as the g2 6 inch Kevlar speakers. Wish I would have never sold my red g2 6's. They also aren't as loud as the old rokits. Buy something else
loudness shouldn't be a selling point for near field monitors.
Can somebody tell me the difference between the sizes? I mean 5, 6 and 8, thanks!
6 years later someone replies. the bigger the better!

@@sasproductions701 haha , yeah
