This video is clearly a scare tactic. There are plenty of great used cars at bargain’s right now.

      With a little research, buying
Proven reliable models like the Honda pilot,
3 to 4 thousand , if you wanted to rebuild it back to original would it cost 6 thousand?

Hi there. Not a scare tactic at all :) As we shared in the video, we aren’t saying there are no quality 10K cars available on the market. The issue is not knowing who is or isn’t trustworthy, therefore buying a < 10K increases risk. And at MATS, one of our main goals is to help our clients mitigate risk! If you find a bargain car from someone you trust, then great!

I have a 1991 Ford F-150 extended bed. Bought for $1000 11 years ago. Very reliable.

Used toyota minivans are so universally unpopular, so much easier than buying trucks or SUVs. This has been the key to my wealth building. I also live in highest portion of the rural rocky mountains commuting daily to ski resort towns with only front wheel drive.

But Dave Ramsey says we should buy a $5,000 car and not get a car loan??
Not to mention that the average bill at a garage is over $1,000 for a typical small repairs. A timing belt for maintenance is often even more. I spent $800 just for a tires and an alignment on a ‘13 Fusion recently.

I have a toyota I paid $1200.00 for. Ive driven it for three years. Your arguments are specious and support the brain damage prices dealers(new and used) are asking for. The lack of reliability is largely due to the garbage the manufacturers are producing. Stellantis= 30 recalls in one year. Ford..nearly the same.

Needs tires.... Gross smell.... I'm pretty sure I can spend a few hundred dollars to get new tires or to clean it.
