That story of how Philza got scared as a kid and became extremely cautious, like mapping out fire exits and everything actually makes so much sense with what he does now. It’s probably why loves hardcore so much and is so great at it. He’s constantly mapping out safety in his mind and is hyper aware.
i remember like 2-3 years ago in his new minecraft hardcore world he said he practiced switching from a broken elytra to a new one midair and start flying again without hitting the ground, which is very difficult because it's something you have to do in under a second while knowing that if you hit the ground/start taking damage from the void, you're probably dead and that's all your progress gone. dude's extremely aware even for something that will most likely never happen because he'll check elytra durability often anyway
Lop I remember he went back to his old minecraft worlds and said he made cobblestone paths above the ground to be safe and had a nightmare about the cave cause it was scuffed, lol.
Its kinda odd Phill only gained recognition when he failed. Or in this case, died and lost his 5 year run. Why didn’t anyone recognize him when he was building crazy buildings or anything?
Actually, before his failure, he was known but not quite as much, people did sometimes recognize him as that dude with the 5 year old world, but people reacted harder to something of such work and effort ending much harder than to when it was ongoing! I actually remember when I first heard about him, his world was still ongoing
He said once it was partly because there is so much contents already so even if you are talented it can be hard for the people who can like your type of content to find you
Phil is like the MOST HUMBLE, DOWN TO EARTH person on the internet. He worked his way up to the top and he deserves all the things that he is enjoying now.
I remember when my dad read that on a news outlet - that a player spent 5 years on a Minecraft world only to lose it all. I (just getting into MC at the time) was shocked and devastated that someone could lose something that long in the process. I never knew I would later care so deeply about this same man.
no bc i deadass know exactly what you're talking about. i remember my mom telling me about it when it happened - bc i had been playing and watching people play minecraft for as long as i could remember - and i thought "man, that's a really long time." i got into watching creators like Tommy and Wilbur and suddenly i started watching him too. i cannot stress how much this man means to me just overall. im glad to see someone else who gets it lol
This video shows why the fandom sees him as a father, i get that he doesn't want to be put on a pedestal, i get that he thinks he isn't fit for the role, but that humility, that perspective not only of failure, but also of success and what he does with it all, it inspires people to want to be better and do the things they love, become the people they want to be
the sad part is, everyone’s crediting the baby zombie when the spider was the actual thing that killed phil, you can see it on his death screen thing it quite literally said “ph1lza was slain by spider”
Yea but that was bc the baby zombie did the majority of the damage would u really say he died to the spider when it just got lucky and got the final hit

Hello Phil. I know you from my 13yo daughter, we have these moments where she shows me what she watches and enjoys the most over the internet, and what struck me from the beginning was the good sense and humanity that always surfaced from your interactions. Despite your humility, swearing that much in this context is not that bad, just for you to know. Kids whose temperament is not like that, won't pick it up. It was heartwarming and also inspiring to hear your story and to see, even more, the human behind it, the lessons behind it, and the example behind it. You are already giving so much to the gamers community and not only, impacting and shaping others' lives, even subtle, but it is a good influence. So, thank you, and keep doing whatever you feel you want to do, just being a simple good human. I felt to add this comment in the desire to counterbalance at least one hateful comment :)). Also, many hugs to Anthony, whom I am watching since entertaining was way scarce over the internet, when watching Smosh was a cult thing between a few colleagues at work. :)) Hugs from Romania to all.
I really admire Phil, he’s such a laid back and genuine dude. It’s so sweet that he helped his mother out, I had no idea about that. This interview was so cool, it’s really nice to hear before everything blew up for him. I’m so glad for that friend that took the clip, otherwise who knows if we would’ve seen Phil in all these cool things

I was so excited to see that you interviewed Philza. I am a bit over 35 and it is so great to see a "not-kid" playing! Philza is so much fun to watch. My kids enjoy Minecraft so much, I thought I'd give it a go! Knowing that I wouldn't be the only "old-timer" on Minecraft is comforting. My daughter is going to teach me during a Twitch Stream. I think it will fun. :-)
that's very sweet of you to remember Techno~ I never really expected Phil's interview coming today but watching this is comforting in a sense. Seeing Phil is really mature, I think he helped a lot of his friends and audience. Phil isn't giving himself a lot of credit but I think he's a really responsible content creator… despite all the swearing
Swearing is just words. If you think about it.. swearing is just power words being used. Any word can be a power word.. no one is fooled by 'Fire Truck' or any other such words.. you just transferred the meaning and feelings to a different set of words.
Thanks for interviewing Philza Minecraft, Creator of Minecraft, the Crowfather, the Phoenix King, the ambassador of men, the only man ever, inventor of men, Ambassador of Genders; it was a delight to watch
I hadn't been interested in Minecraft when it blew up in my teen years, and over the years I struggled with letting go of things I felt attached to, and the concept of failure. I have to admit, learning Philza's story a while back made me really admire the work he poured into his Hardcore world, and also the acceptance and ...I dunno how else to put it, but... emotional maturity he showed with the loss. Made me actually want to challenge myself to learn to accept failures in small ways and grow as well. It's amazing how quickly the story made me both interested in a block game and in actively challenging myself. Legend indeed!

"Failure is an inevitable necessary part of growth, which makes me wonder, how many of the things in my life that I once considered catastrophic failures were actually the catalyst for the things I now appreciate the most" - Anthony Padilla 2022
Philza is a huge inspiration to so many people across the internet! I’ve become a huge fan of him over the last few years. So glad you’ve been able to interview him!!!
With so many ambitious creators capturing an audience with “big things soon” and adapting to trends, having someone who commits to a schedule and to authenticity is a huge comfort. Phil’s ability to be there same time same place, doing what he loves, is incredible. Especially for how long he’s been able to do it.
the reason philza will continue to stay popular and fine is because so many of his viewers just love him for the way he is like, he'd just be hanging out with his wife, chatting for 40 mins without doing anything much and theres 2-6k ppl watching him. its like the same for so many dsmp members too. the people see them online streaming and its alr enough reason to watch them and be happy at the sight of that.
Anthony does the best job interviewing people, it's amazing and he's so kind. You can tell how much the people being interviewed trust him. Keep up the great work, Anthony.
Anthony is by far the best interviewer 😭 I love all the jokes and how you listen to the people you're interviewing. You provide such safe/comfortable space for everyone to open up and tell their stories. Love these videos sm
One of more core memories was drugged on codeine watching Phil’s hardcore the dragons coming back to destroy endlantis. He’s helped me so much through my journey to healing from childhood trauma and endometriosis. I knew Phil had a similar background to me, and his words of advice and encouragement how it will be ok helped me so much.
tbh, him and the little kid just bowing at eachother and their convo is just really funny. I had to stop myself from laughing cause it's like 12 am and everyone's asleep
The thing that’s heartbreaking is that when he’s sad or like feeling pain he laughs and tries not to make his fans worried ❤️ he laughs at stuff that aren’t funny for others
Watching this just struck me in a way nothing has before. My dad doesn't drink, but he has pain that causes him to be irritable and does pretty much exactly what Phil said his dad did. He's never threatened to leave us but me and my siblings are yelled at so much for the smallest things that sometimes I wish that it was just my siblings and my mom. But thank you Phil for helping me realize that "You don't have to have a good dad to be a good person."
Honestly I can relate to being called the parental figure with my groups of friends both irl & online. What's funny is that I'm only 20 turning 21 in September. What's funnier is that I look younger than I look which isn't too bad but can be annoying in some cases... Anyways, I absolutely love these interviews. Keep up the fantastic work Anthony Padilla!
I got the chance to watch this live with Phil. I’m genuinely so happy that you got to interview him. I love your videos, and Philza’s a big inspiration and comfort to so many, myself included. The tribute to Techno at the end, as well. Thank you 💙
Kudos to everyone in Philz’s family, they all stayed with him regardless of his financial situation and helped him grow to who he is today. It’s sad that he’s probably lost the most people in his life.
THE CROWFATHER 💖 Honestly Phil you do such a good job combating social anxiety, at least it seems so to me, because you seem like the most settled and unbothered person ever. A huge inspiration for me in my attitude toward life. Also omg yes I also have a memory that felt like "the moment my brain turned on." Fittingly, it was me waking up on a birthday. And your perspective about "omg money... omg I can help my mom" is 100% something I understand. That's something I think about every time I think about making good money. The way I could help my parents finally relax. Especially because my mom has a lot of chronic illness problems and stupid American healthcare.... "In secret, I paid off the mortgage as a Christmas present." BRO IM GONNA CRY u play block game good OH SHIT the Techno memorium oh thank you
Tbh, for me Phil is kinda like the Uncle Iroh of Minecraft community. He's a wise man, a great friend and a dude with a great sense of humor + The loss of Technoblade. RIP, we all miss you a lot
Seeing the short for this video is what made me finally cave and watch these ive been wanting to but this is what pushed to load it up. Phil is a really kind person and he does really bring joy to my day if its been a bad day
I found Phil early 2020 and it's pretty cool how he's maby the only one CC that I know that has stayed the most level headed, when I turn on his streams or videos I feel a sense of stability, reliability and comfort. Especially now when Techno is gone Phil brings a sense of calm in my life and I'm so thankful for that.
No you gave the man flash backs onto how he lost! 😅 I’m glad that he is happy and doing better after last week and I hope everyone else is fine as well ❤️ Anthony is the best Interviewer! He’s always so funny he always makes me laugh 😂 Phil is a great person ❤️
Phil is such a great guy. He’s one of the few Minecraft streamers that blew up in the 2019-2020 era and hasn’t lost his spark His chemistry with Technoblade is some of the greatest content I’ve ever seen ❤️
All these people have SUCH interesting backgrounds, honestly! But we never really get to know them, so they seem sorta perfect to us. Thank you Anthony!

the reason philza will continue to stay popular and fine is because so many of his viewers just love him for the way he is like, he'd just be hanging out with his wife, chatting for 40 mins without doing anything much and theres 2-6k ppl watching him. its like the same for so many dsmp members too. the people see them online streaming and its alr enough reason to watch them and be happy at the sight of that.
I’m so happy you did Philza!! This was such a good interview thank you Anthony!!!!
anthony is a great interviewer.
the video just came out wdym such a good interview, how you could you have possibly watched it?
he was probably over there for there for technos funeral unless it was before
@Don't read profile photo ok
@@Finoid_ it was before probably
Anthony does the best job interviewing people, it's amazing and he's so kind. You can tell how much the people being interviewed trust him. Keep up the great work, Anthony.
I love that they put the title "INVASION OF PRIVACY" and then it's just a little kid and Phil bowing to each other at the back of a games store 😂
Anthony is by far the best interviewer 😭 I love all the jokes and how you listen to the people you're interviewing. You provide such safe/comfortable space for everyone to open up and tell their stories. Love these videos sm
Phil is just genuinely such an amazing person - he‘s created such a safe space/a great community and I‘m so happy to be a part of it :]
Now I know why the "Philza lookout its a baby zombie." Line was such a great meme
The story of Phil taking care of his mom in any way he could is so wholesome and so beautiful😭 she’s probably so proud of him!
“sometimes existing is exhausting”
how true
One of more core memories was drugged on codeine watching Phil’s hardcore the dragons coming back to destroy endlantis. He’s helped me so much through my journey to healing from childhood trauma and endometriosis. I knew Phil had a similar background to me, and his words of advice and encouragement how it will be ok helped me so much.
“3 days of holding down crouch”
...
HOW does he still have a left pinky finger!?
Glad the creator of minecraft finally got an interview. Although it's a little weird that yall barely discussed creating minecraft
tbh, him and the little kid just bowing at eachother and their convo is just really funny. I had to stop myself from laughing cause it's like 12 am and everyone's asleep
Techno would've been awesome to see. Ever since 2018 he's changed my thoughts on Minecraft with his great personality and skill.
Hearing Phil talk about his home life made me feel hope for my own.
Thank you 💙
you always know it’s a wonderful day when Anthony, Wilbur, and Tommy upload in one day
Nonsense Phil, you cursing makes you a good dad. Thank you Dadza!💜
The community Phil has created is genuinely one of the nicest most supportive places to hang out on twitch :)💕
Kudos to everyone in Philz’s family, they all stayed with him regardless of his financial situation and helped him grow to who he is today. It’s sad that he’s probably lost the most people in his life.
THE CROWFATHER 💖
Honestly Phil you do such a good job combating social anxiety, at least it seems so to me, because you seem like the most settled and unbothered person ever.
"In secret, I paid off the mortgage as a Christmas present." BRO IM GONNA CRY
u play block game good
OH SHIT the Techno memorium oh thank you

Phil talking about his mom and how he could provide for her made me cry happy tears
Tbh, for me Phil is kinda like the Uncle Iroh of Minecraft community. He's a wise man, a great friend and a dude with a great sense of humor
+ The loss of Technoblade. RIP, we all miss you a lot
And old.
Seeing the short for this video is what made me finally cave and watch these ive been wanting to but this is what pushed to load it up. Phil is a really kind person and he does really bring joy to my day if its been a bad day
i cant believe anthony was able to interview the creator of minecraft, ambassador of men, father to all, and bravest man of all
I found Phil early 2020 and it's pretty cool how he's maby the only one CC that I know that has stayed the most level headed, when I turn on his streams or videos I feel a sense of stability, reliability and comfort.

He’s always so funny he always makes me laugh 😂 Phil is a great person ❤️
this was shot before Techoblade died
@@azloyal298 was this really the comment you were trying to answer to?
@@owo_xanax5200 it was just the first one i saw the. i scrolled and a lot of people didn't realize Philza hasn't been in America since last week
@@azloyal298 oh my apologies I didn’t now 😅 but I still hope people are feeling better 😊
@@azloyal298 oh alright, thanks for clearing it up for everyone
Very nice, very pog video
The fact Phil is mapping out every scenario makes me feel like I am not the only one.
Once again another great video really gives us a window into the life of philza
I'm still waiting the day when we finally could watch a video dedicated just to hear Anthony's stories. He has a lot to tell us.
Phil is such a great guy. He’s one of the few Minecraft streamers that blew up in the 2019-2020 era and hasn’t lost his spark
His chemistry with Technoblade is some of the greatest content I’ve ever seen ❤️
I miss the Emerald Duo. ❤️🥹
All these people have SUCH interesting backgrounds, honestly! But we never really get to know them, so they seem sorta perfect to us. Thank you Anthony!
i wish techno would've got one of these interviews it would've been so awesome
Philza mapping out every scenario reminds me how much of a anxious wreck I am by doing the exact same but not just one situation it would be several
Phil seems like such a sweet and caring person irl. I absolutely love watching these interviews!❤️
Dadza helped me a lot. Love you Phil
i just wanted to say that i first found smosh when i was 9 years old, and instantly fell in love with your content. its crazy to think that nearly 14 years later one of the first youtubers ive ever subscribed to is still as popular and prolific on youtube as the day i found you. I just wanna thank you for an amazing childhood and let you know that ill be with you until the day you retire, thanks for being you.
Phils story is absolutely amazing and such a memorable moment of his career!
