FILM DESCRIPTION:
In a society ravaged by centuries of war between humans and vampires, a legendary warrior priest (Paul Bettany), a veteran of the last conflict, lives in an enclosed city ruled by the church. When a murderous pack of vampires kidnaps his niece (Lily Collins), the priest breaks his sacred vows and sets out to rescue her before the bloodsuckers put the bite on her. Joining him on his quest are his niece's boyfriend (Cam Gigandet) and a former priestess (Maggie Q) with supernatural fighting skills.

karl urban needs more big roles he is fantastic
He did play as Judge Dredd in the movie Dredd, and believe me that version of Dredd was leagues better compared to Slyvester's version from the 90's. More in line with the comics.

in my book he portrayed Dredd the way it was supposed to. Judge Dredd never shows his face in the comics. And I believed that was the flaw with the 90's version; because the moment he removed his helmet it became just another Sylvester Stallone action movie.
@@danny2m12 Have to agree with that, once Stallone's Dredd took off the helmet any and all respect was instantly lost. And the longer the movie went on the more disrespect to the source material in my opinion.

Karl Urban deserves to have big roles, he looks to charming to play the villain in this film
I respect priests and all but I found it funny how that one priest who was doing a bunch of karate only to get killed by a punch. It's kinda like that one scene in Indiana Jones where the Indian dude was doing a bunch of sword moves only to get shot by Indie.

You guys aren't getting the point.....this priest are highly trained warriors and one priest said u always have to keep up with the speed or you die so the priest that was moving those blades quickly was trying to catch speed to attack but the enemy was stronger but they didn't know
And one thing they didn't know about the enemy they were facing.....was the first priest

Lets just take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the singular most important part of all of this, is that karl urban's outfit sells everything. Karl Urban could sell milky way's and I'd buy them. Christ that looks hot and badass at the same time.

After finding his wife had a kid with his arch nemesis, Homelander, Billy Butcher must have joined systematically destroyed all the heroes and ended the world. Then I suppose he joined into Priesthood, you know, Atone . . . or pretend to so no one could hang him. Then he got turned into a Satanic Vampire and now he's just having fun with how chaotic the world is now. He's the bringer of the tide, like he said when he was having that very pleasant chat with Lucy about how Vamps Just Wanna Have Fun. Sounds legit, right? They don't even say his name in the movie as I recall, just Black Hat, so it could work as a story. I would buy that in a heartbeat if this idea was a movie or a book.

I heard this movie was loosely based on some Manga character. Sooooo..... I thought it was the Americanized version of Alucard vs Anderson.

Not the biggest Karl Urban fan, but he was pretty entertaining in this. Almost reminds me of an evil version of Roland Deschain.
Honestly, this felt like a test footage to Dark Tower series, with Karl Urban throwing his hat in as the man in black for screening this movie haaha.
