I love how so many of the solutions to these problems is "sell your home without telling the buyers about your problem" or "appease the creature. Give them bowls of cream or mayhaps some gold"

My eyes lit the hell up when I put the riddle and answer together. My gaze immediately shot to Twitch chat exploding with people screaming the answer in rapture only to suddenly just be emotes. It was amazing XD
It's genuinely crazy and hilarious how multiple different streamer chats have organically banded together under making house fires a running joke lol (ive watched a lot of different streams of this game)
Im literally so proud that i was one of the first to make that joke, its the funniest thing ive ever been apart of

I actually really appreciate the faerie aspect, no one really uses folkloric monsters for kind of stuff(unless they get redesigned as horror monsters)

The dev has the same love of bestiaries that I do which explains why I was so interested in this game. There's nothing like reading about the fake biology of otherworldly entities!

I never read the Spiderwick chronicles books, but I loved the creatures guidebook with all the fae critters in it

I knew fairies had to be involved in this game when the logo uses a celtic cross. I love that the fairies take you away if you do a great job. In Ireland the general lore is fairies love prefect things. For example if you are in the woods and hear a strange sound, turn your jacket inside out. With the inside out jacket, you are no longer seen as prefect and safe from fairies taking you away.

I love the idea of the creatures and plants of the fae wild just coming into our world and everyone just learning to deal with it. Like, no magic to counteract it or anything, just 'leave a piece of cheese out for your hobb friend or else he will metamorphize and kill you :)'

So from what I’m getting, it’s not horror as in “spooky scary”, it’s more like “you know they may be in danger, that their loved ones may be gone forever or risk being so, and they don’t. Give them the info and hope that they believe you.”
Just going by the feeling of… dread I guess? Of the mother calling for her missing son when Wayne correctly deduced they had a fake object that she had no way of finding that abducted the child. No one is to blame, yet it’s a tragedy nonetheless.
I think what might be even sadder about May (the mother calling about her son being abducted by an artifact), is that as the person on the other end of the line, you know that Jeremy is still in that thing but his mother will never really know. Since artifacts are only remedied with the child/pet inside them being forgotten by use of Memory Wisps for the family affected. So not only is a mother losing her son, she's losing the knowledge, love and memories of that son ever existing, while her son starves to death inside a strange object.
I don't think it was the artifact. It might have been a fake rose bush.
@@roninnozlo9544 no it def was an artifact. If it wasn't Wayne would have gotten the consequence call. Plus the mom outright talks about her son being scared of bees, leading to the fact that artifacts are known to making buzzing sounds, and that his closet was messy which attracts artifacts. This is about a caller, not the boy that is reported missing in the relator video.
wayne solo streams are always such a treat. the rest of rtvs are great but wayne has a certain charisma when talking to only the audience

I laughed so hard when the game did the "junior supervisor" bit, I think breaking built up tension with comedy, especially when that tone is already established, is great

I feel like the fae would do that, like how they did all of this in the first place
I really love how this game has a unique take on analogue horror, the fantasy elements are so fun and make it really stick out compared to the more generic scary unknown entity stuff.
for me it's like these creatures are put in the same category/tier as like mild annoyances, like a boggart and a fucking frozen pipe

My only issue with everyone I've seen stream this game is that chat gives them 90% of the right answers, and this is a game where you might want to hear some of the consequence calls.

God shout out to this call and to the person doing the voice acting at 1:25:53, the game has a creepy vibe but this moment felt so out place I loved it. I don’t know if there are more moments like that going forward (fell asleep during the original stream so I never saw the rest) but I really hope there are
The mother calling about her missing child was particularly harrowing to listen to.
That guy, the distressed mom and the girl who lost her face are all standouts
The dirt mound call was a reference to making a "mountain out of a molehill", with the caller being really dramatic about it!

In regards to the talk at start of stream about breaking bad vrai: as a person who has not actually watched breaking bad and a person who was there for a good amount of the april fools stream, my eyes were kind of glued to it for so many reasons. Like, on one level i was trying to figure out what was actually the plot of the show based on what i was seeing but also the… fan-made songs??? That would be playing on car radios just describing the plot? The gmod car physics and tunnel teleportation, how some models just looked like cardboard cutouts, holly’s amazing rendition of skylar. I was definitely april fooled but also it was a really fun experience
Ive showed multiple people the clip of holly going “*skylar white divorces walter white*” and then wayne stopping mid-sentence and going. “What?? Divorce 😔”
This feels like it's set in the same universe as Troll 2 idk why.
I would like it a lot if more games made little tributes to Longmont Potion Castle as part of their core mechanic

i love the fae feast call because once you clock in the fact that its a fae agency handling all these fae anomalies, you get thats like. the fae feast entry is being written by the fae's point of view so OF course they would see a smoking pile of crap as a generous and edible offering lest you invoke the ire of those below. its so fun. i loved this detail bc it gives a clear hint (if the mouseformation stuff wasnt enough) that something is Up...
I met a Great Dane while taking a friend back and forth to dog training...that dog was HUGE, basically pony-sized. Absolutely sweet too 😊

(Spoilers, I guess?) I felt so vindicated seeing the AD&D Monster Manual in the behind-the-scenes stuff. It reminded me of when I found and impulse-bought the AD&D Fiend Folio at a games shop years ago. **That** book had some especially bizarre monsters; a lot of them leaned into comedic gimmicks (a robed skeletal-looking humanoid that would teleport nosy adventurers away, and then insist to all remaining party members that the victim had been disintegrated), but others were genuinely unnerving in concept (a large flower that charms victims and plants seeds in their brains to turn them into mindless spore-spreaders; a blob with a barbed tendril that injects you with a digestive fluid that slowly melts your organs from the inside).
The info entries in this game really capture that vibe: sometimes silly, sometimes scary, but first and foremost, just fascinating to read about and to imagine the larger, uncanny fantasy ecology these things would make up.
You know what they always say,,,, house fires are the lupus of home safety☝️
This game was really cool, one thing i would have liked to see is later on maybe on the last day you have to deduce that there are two things happening in the same call. Would have been a cool like final challenge

How bad is the backseating in this vod i need to prepare myself for when chat is annoying
i'm abt 3 hours in and the backseating is only truly obvious if u read chat, and it's not the worst case of backseating i've seen. a lot of it is chat trying to figure it out with wayne and sometimes they come to the conclusion first or someone who's obviously seen the game before just says something in chat.
