- Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway celebrated her 18th birthday in royal style with a new TIARA!
In the last couple of years, three young future Queen's have turned 18, meaning that they can finally start wearing tiaras at official events, and Princess Ingrid Alexandra's birthday is the first such event.
As the future Queen of Norway, Ingrid Alexandra's 18th birthday was no ordinary affair, as royals from across Europe attended a black tie dinner in some of their finest fashion and jewelry to celebrate.
And in the process, three young princesses and future queens made their tiara debuts!!
Ingrid Alexandra wore a tiara that has belonged to her family for years, but just reentered the royal line.
Princess Elisabeth of Belgium wore a tiara her family purchased, which perhaps was owned but the Russian Romanov's at some point.
Princess Catharina-Amalia of The Netherlands wore the same star tiara her mother wore on her wedding day.
In addition to the young princesses, we also saw Crown Princess Victoria, Queen Mathilde, Queen Maxima, Crown Princess Mary and other royals across Europe.
Also, who knew that there's a specific Norwegian birthday dance.
What's your favorite royal look this FASHION FRIDAY?!?

Ingrid is known for rewearing her mother's old clothes and she cares deeply for the enviroment. She expressed that she wanted the guests to rewear clothes they've worn on previous events. So there was a meaning behind so many showing up in either their mothers' (such as Ingrid herself, her cousins and aunt) or their own old clothes (Mary, Maxima, Sonja, Astrid and Mette-Marit). As for Victoria, I personally loved her gown. It might be a tad different from what she usually wears, but the design of the gown was a tribute to Ingrid and Norway, with the flowers in the Norwegian colors. Which I think was such a beautiful gesture. Goes to show the close bond between Victoria and her goddaughter. And Estelle's matching headband and dress was just too adorable.
Loved this video and review by the way. Great work. As a Norwegian I find it entertraining watching non-Norwegians trying to pronounce our names. But you're definetly not alone in finding the pronounciation hard. All in all this was a wonderful review.
This is exactly what I was going to comment on, but I can add that she also decided that they were not to have any meat neither on the official ball in Oslo's new Library (The government dinner) nor at the Royal Castle. The same wish about the dresses that night. All the other, at least most of the royal guest were present at this dinner too. Also Ingrid's interest in and concern about the environment started as a young girl and is something she lives by today; she rewear clothes like a normal teenager and they don't eat meat 2 days a week at their home at Skaugum asf.I totally agree with you about Victoria's dress!!
Wanted to point out one thing, Crown Princess Märtha was never an owner of the Boucheron pearl tiara. She passed away before her mother Princess Ingeborg, so it was Ingeborg's granddaughter Princess Ragnhild who inherited the tiara when she died. After Ragnhild's death in 2012 it wasn't seen anymore and since the nrf isn't the one to share a lot about their jewellry's history many wondered if the tiara would ever show up again. Up until now. It was a delight seeing Ingrid in the tiara and I'm so happy it's back in their vaults. I apologize for all this information chit-chat, but I find the Norwegian royal family and their history so fascinating.
love that you're not only covering the British Royal Family!
Thank you so much! Yes, I enjoy all the royals so I’m so glad I can do this! Thanks for watching!!
Yeah agree so much more interesting
Wonderful.
Loved this and the history behind the tiaras.
Princess Ingrid is simply beautiful.
She outshone the rest of the royals who attended - and that is exactly how it should be as it was HER big day.
There are others closer to home (US/U.K.) who could learn a thing or two x
She looks so lovely and carried herself so well. Meghan could learn a lot from even Estelle’s example. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for this video. I appreciate that you are giving an opportunity to see other royals! It's also a nice break from some of the drama there is to report on.
Thanks Katie!! Yes, I don’t want to be just a channel about the drama surrounding Harry and Meghan. The other royals are so awesome!! 😎
Thanks for the Amy Farrah Fowler clip...loved it. Looks like there are many young ladies coming up and lots of opportunities for tiaras in the future. Thank you for covering the European Royals as well.
I love that clip from Amy!! I was actually going to get this up last night but the editing took too long and my Amy clip was too long at first. Thanks for watching!!☺️
Forever love to our sweet princess Ingrid Alexandra and her lovely royal family of Norway......💓👑💓(Zekik abdelhamid-Tetouan/North of Morocco)
I have translated a few lines for you that I really liked from Princess Ingrids speech (I am from Denmark and danish & norwegian are very similar🙂):
“Mum, we can talk about everything together. I love (thank you for) that we can hang out (lie on) the couch together and watch series like “Sex and the city”. I appreciate everything you do for me.
“Dad, thank you for going skiing and sailing with us as well as all kinds of other activities. You fix and take care of things and you are calm when the rest of us are not. I am so grateful for the support you give me and for knowing that you always will do so. This makes me very happy”.
I really like that princess Ingrids speech was so personal and “informal”☺. It shows that when the guests have left and the tiaras are back in the vault, they in many ways behave just like the rest of us..though they have probably have nicer couches to stretch out on🤔…😁
Greetings from Copenhagen, Denmark🇩🇰
Thank you for the translation!
OMG 😂🤣😂🤣 That clip you showed of Amy on the Big Bang was absolutely hilarious! Yes, we’re aware that’s you and we love that about you. Very endearing ❤
Thank you 🙏🏻 Absolutely fabulous 🥰 Fashion Friday with Royals and TIARAS ❤️ I love learning more about other Royal families, history behind the tiaras. Oh just everything. You are doing a great job 👏 Here’s to your inner Amy TIARA 👑🥰
Aww, thank you!! I LOVE that Amy bit!! It was so cool! I think it would have been awesome for them to get a member of the Swedish royal family to appear for the finale! It would have been so cool! Thanks for watching!!
I think a wish from Princess Ingrid Alexandra was that people reuse clothes because she thinks about the envirement, but they don’t use privat plane like Harry and Meghan 😉
She thanked her mom for being there for her and that they can talk about everything. She thanked her dad that he always are calme when no one else are 😊
I really enjoy your videos. Princess Ingrid is gorgeous and her tiara is lovely x
Thank you so much Hazel!! She is beautiful and she did such a great job for such a big event!!
The tiara worn by Princess Ingrid Alexandra is lovely and delicate, perfect for a young woman just ending her teens. It also looks more contemporary, even though it was commissioned at the turn of the 19th century.
I love royals, fashion, and jewelry too ❤️❤️❤️
I really enjoyed seeing a royal family that I know very little about. I'll have to do some catching up. How unusual, a royal family that actually seems to get along! *SHOCKER!* 😱
Haha, it’s so true!! A lot of the European royals, especially the Scandinavians, get along very, very well!! They’re pretty much family, mostly because they are! ☺️Thanks for watching!!
Love your chats and its so super to learn a bit about other royal families. You can hear you love your chat you put so much into it. Well done
Aww, thank you so much Sue!! I love royals and I don’t want to just focus on Harry and Meghan all the time. Thanks for watching!!
Have a Merry Christmas lovely princess....👑
What a great video. I knew close to nothing about the Norwegian RF and now I would like to follow them and other European dynasties. You are such a wonderful storyteller - thank you.
The Norwegian royals were really close to Jeffrey Epstein
This was a great video thanks Brittany! Was nice to see each look in such detail.
Thank you so much!! So glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
Beautiful video as always! Thanks!
Thank you so much!! ☺️
Lovely! It is interesting to see the variety of dress style and all the tiaras. We'll done.
Thank you for this video. I think the floral dress would've looked better if it was turned around, white with the flowers all floating or dropping to the hem. My opinion. 🌹🐝🇿🇦
That’s a great point! I’ve actually come to the conclusion recently it was probably her hair too that would have made the look better. If Victoria has a more relaxed updo or had her hair down, I think it would have worked better. Victoria always pulls her hair back, usually in a severe bun, which I think works better with a more streamlined look. Thanks for watching!!
I love tiaras! I love your views on tiaras & dresses.
Love all your videos. Can’t wait for the next. Royal rundown is great as well 😊
Aww, thank you so much!! I’ll be doing those again next week!
Another nice and informative video! I love your rundown of fashion. I'm with you on wanting to wear a tiara in my teens. Lol
I would love to wear a real, historic tiara one time. It would be so awesome!!☺️ Thanks for watching!!
Nice report ❤️👍. Looks like they all had a lovely time.
Aww, thank you so much! Yes, they had a lovely time!
I love this, thank you so much.
Maxima is my favorite too!
Happy birthday 🎂
The tiara is very pretty and very appropriate for her age. Anything bigger or heavier wouldn't have worked.
How Priincess Estelle of Sweden has grown , Princess Ingrid Alexandra is lovely
She is incredibly lovely! Thanks for watching!!
Happy birthday 🎂 💖 🎊 🎁 🎉 ❣️ 🎊 🥳
A very beautiful and gorgeous princess and wears an amazing crown👸💝❣️
Luv this!
So enjoyed this video ❤️
Aww, thank you so much!!
Do you know what they were all looking up at?
Love seeing the Royals 👸
Britney You are gorgeous my lady , absolutely beautiful 🤩 🔥❤️🥰
Aww, thank you Tom!! ☺️
Love Emalias necklace. Looks like the diamond bandeau
Yay!!!!
I love Crown Princess Victorias’s dress. I thought she looked very regal.
Isn’t it today Saturday? Lol 😂 I’m so confused. Great video as always
Haha, I was having technical issues so I wasn’t able to get it up last night. So it’s perhaps the one and only Fashion Saturday😂. Thanks for watching!!
Brilliant she is a very lovely young woman great pose and wath can I say very well presented, hay either have it or thay don't, all look proud dignafied young people ,love looking at the style and jules, with royl comes responsibility,
Thank you so much Alice!! Yes, there is a great responsibility that comes with royalty, and she’s doing an excellent job representing her country! Thanks for watching!!
Shaman Durek that got engaged to princess Martha are also from California like Meghan Markle and it seem like he also like the spotlight a lot and he called all us Norwegian rasist because people have reaction over things he says.
Takk is thank you
I'm so with you on Erdem. The mustard yellow dress Catherine wore was the ugliest thing she wore bar none. The one on M-M that night was as you say, "no bueno."
It’s definitely not by favorite, though I’ve liked some things. Thanks for watching!!
I don't really know what you mean when telling us that the Norwegian tiara collection is "sparce" but I'll look into it and find how many there is, plus what other jewelry that goes with it. The emerald ensemlbe we see Queen Sonja wear here is one of the grandest though, that's for sure.I really enyoy your programs Brittney, since I'm not 20 any more I would like it if the photoes of what you're telling us about could stay on the screen a bit longer at the time ... Keep it up!!👌
CP Victoria looked stunning ....
Princes of Sweden were not allowed by the Swedish constitution to marry any non royal, therefor prince Bertil and Lilian had to wait for 30 years. When the current Swedish king was just 8-9 months old, his father was killed in an air crash, and all of his brothers, except prince Bertil, had allready married commoners and was out of the succesion. It was even discussed when the, then, Crown Prince Gustav Adolf, wanted to marry Lady Louise Mountbatten, if she was royal enough...
Still today the Swedish royals have to get permission from the king and the goverment to marry.
🥰
I am a spanking new sub, and i am binging on the video's. Love it! Maybe as a BE the thing that rubs me is your misapprouncination of the fasionhouse Nathan. You say it in an Enlish tone, but you have to say it in French
Ah, good to know! My pronunciation isn’t the best at times! Thanks for watching!!
No Nutmeg in the family.
Elle aussi avec la robe la robe éclaire Ambroise et le ruban bleu là la couronne c'est une autre aussi elle ressemble une lettre p on n'est pas encore bien sûr mais je pense
I totally agree with you on the dress that Princess Victoria word which was not the type to have a banner spread across the top. and it also was age inappropriate. What would have worked would have been the flowers applied to the skirt.
In Japan there is no " coronation". It's Enthronement.
And so MM wants to be a princess what a joke 😱
Ingrid is more regal than Meghan could ever hope to be. Thanks for watching!!
MM can be princesex…sorry princess…of a certain group only. You guess which group!!
Yes that dress is a teenager dress. Princess ingrid is very pretty. Lots of princes out their go get one you are cute enough. Nice to hear about other royals. I don’t like any of the yellow dresses. Those last grandma’s dresses need to go back in the closet… or the fireplace
Les mots difficiles je croyais que Joe est sorti avec elle avec la robe bleue avec ruban mauve et la couronne de la sœur de je croyais qu'ils étaient fiancés
And so MM wants to be a princess what a joke😏
Used gowns should be used by the younger generation.
I think you should slow down when you talk also hearing you swallow is really gross love your channel though
Shaman Durek the fiance of Princess Märtha does not bow to the King & Queen of Norway.
I dont understand why the Brits , keep their fabulous jewels in dusty museums or vaults. They do belong to the English people and crown , allow the people to see and enjoy them ,why keep them a secret? Everyone know they exist .About these dresses ? Sorry these dresses were not my favorite. Kinda ,boring and the patterns ? not so much. I think the British Royalty have a much better fashion sense.
Only the Crown Jewels displayed in the Tower of London are state property. All other juwellery including most tiaras are privately owned by the British Royal Family.
How plain my life is! 😂😂😂🤎
PS: I always play a game with myself that I must choose which thing I would pick to wear or use or make or….etc. So from this video I had to choose the dress I’d wear, and the tiara and which escort would walk with me. 😂 Sorry, OCD.
Being a pearl freak, and not crazy to personally wear a big heavy tiara, I definitely would pick Princess Ingrid’s tiara! It’s perfect. I LOVE hearing the history of the fashions. Any history is my favorite thing.
Love this channel, Brittany!
