A tip if playing games like Arkanoid and you get a laggy response if trying to move the trackball quickly left to right, open your cmdline.txt file, scroll to the very end of it and type "usbhid.mousepoll=2" (sans quotation marks) this should improve response.
Could you, or someone else, please clarify how to do this? How does one access the “cmdline.txt file”? I’ve been disappointed with the response of my trackball, and I think the issue is an initial lag, as I’ve adjusted the sensitivity already in the Tab menu. Thanks!
So what happens if there is no Mouse enabled selection in Retroarch? I have a 2" trackball sold from your site in my machine but do not have the 3 extra wires attached to anything? Where do they go if at all?
Still struggling with my trackball. I get the menu now of "BIOS" and "retropiemenu" and "roms" and "splashscreens". There is no "configs" menu, and I can't find the file you reference. At this level I have BIOS, retropiemenu, roms, splashscreens. when I open retropiemenu I get a bunch to .rp files. any advice?
The trackball green wires with the ring connectors are earth grounds to discharge static electricity. Hooking them up to the joystick mounting plate does nothing since it has no path to ground.
What UI/skin/theme is that, which shows all the game graphics in the game browser? Looks awesome. (Is that "Attract Mode"?) Also, how do you get the static graphics on either side of Golden Tee? (Guessing it's something Attract Mode provides... if it is in fact Attract Mode)
So watched both this and the spinner video and one thing my Retropie and ES I can't replicate is getting into the RetroArch with the hotkey and X. I defined a hot key through my keyboard (I'm setting up a very simple interface) and pressed my hotkey 'H' + my X key, which is the key I mapped to X and nothing. I'm using AdvMame and it seems the Mame keystrokes supersede any ES keys when I try to do anything. I've gone through almost all options in RetroArch within the ES menu, but this displays different information than what yours shows while within a game itself. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Happ. It has Chinese markings which can be assumed to be a clone or generic but I think it is a genuine Happ that came directly from China. All Happ parts are now manufactured in China and then rebranded in the United States with the Suzo Happ name and have the price jacked up. This is the exact same trackball as the $189.99 Happ lighted trackball for less money. It is great quality.
finally got mine to work! turns out it was eithert my keyboard or mouse being plugged in at the same time. I had to do a reboot directly into retropie with no keyboard or mouse...worked! only now if i plaug in the keyboard OR mouse the trackball stops...any fixs?
Didn’t make the video and honestly have no real life experience with the trackball (yet) but I’ve been extensively looking into it and from what I’ve gathered your retropie is going to view your trackball as a mouse. So I’d imagine the other mouse being plugged in would mess with that. But again, no expert, just saw no one replied to you. Would you mind answering a question for me? I’m looking into getting a trackball but I’m not a huge fan of games that use it, I just love the aesthetics and would love to have it as a sort of “menu scroller”. Does it work that way in the emulator menu?
I bought a $90 trackball and mounted it to my arcade panel desk thing I made. It sucked! Super slow and skipped inputs! Plugged in a trackball and it was perfect. Was using a PC and haven't tried on retropie yet.
Can anyone recommend a ready-to-go panel/box/board (for a semi-noob) that has a trackball already set in the middle? AND, one that allows you to add ROMS via SD/USB? I’m dying to buy one, but I’m soooooo confyooooozed! 🥴 🙏✌️

I ordered from you all and the trackball lights up and all but the game doesn’t recognize the trackball at all! Please help!
Very nice video and fun to watch. Have a nice day.

How do I set up a trackball and a spinner?
Your plug and play set up it’s already all set up correct ?
what trackball are you using? I am looking to buy one, but I don't want to buy the wrong one.

Mine works, but I NEED that bezel!
Will it work with Libretto?

How do I change trackball speed ? Thx

I plugged up a usb trackball mouse to the retropie. works seemingly perfect and it was plug and play
Thanks for the video. Follow the instructions and doesn't seem to work. I have a custom image from arcadepunks, so maybe that's my problem.
I think it has to do with retropies new architecture. So this method is obsolete on newer versions of retropie.
I can’t locate a config folder in my retropie folder?
NM. Got it working👍

X-Aracde Tankstick, without a doubt. It's the best build quality/bang for the buck.
Can you do a video to set up a spinner?
Yes. Have it on the list.
Just posted ua-cam.com/video/oOQeUbZudUA/v-deo.html
Thanks
where did you get this dual player with trackball set up and is it plug and play.
He made it. It’s his company.
What if you’re on a mac
there's a reason why there's no videos out there of setting this up a raspberry pi. .it just doesn't work lol
this video is assuming that you already have computer experience. I have. NONE!!
