IMHO...There should a special and educational program for these unsung heroines that responded to the call to serve our country thru the difficult times of WWII....THEY DESERVE MORE RECOGNITION AND MORE RESPECT FOR THEIR SERVICES AND SACRIFICE....GOD BLESS YOU ALL 👏 🙏 😊 😀 ❤️
I had the opportunity to fly with a WASP. This was like 25 years ago from Dell City TX. to Artesia NM. My Boss and I flew into Dell City to help a CAF L-5 that ground looped and tore up its left wing tip! The lady at the airport said she knew of a guy just over there that can fix it up so you can get home! By Over there, She mean 75 miles away in New Mexico! We spent 2 days repairing the wing tip and my Boss had to fly back to get some spraying done! I was going to drive our old pick up truck home when I finished! Mis s Holly, I wish I could remember her last name. told me Johnny, I have driven that truck, Do you want me to fly you home in my 150? I said Sure! What a natural pilot. Half way home I asked her where she was going? She looked around and said Silly me I was going to Seven Rivers not Artesia! She made a slight left turn and we landed at Artesia and she fought me when I want to pay for her fuel. She told the line girl to only put in 10 gallons. I told her to top off the plane! What a great ride and the stories she told me was great!
