Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX: Easy Terra/Lingering Will Trophy (Neg Combo Strat)

Here's what you need to equip in order to defeat Terra easily
1) Equip Fenrir on Sora (Obtained by defeating Sephiroth)
2) Take off all of Sora's primary abilities EXCEPT GUARD
3) Take off all Combo pluses and combo master
4) Equip Negative Combo on Sora
5) Take off all of Donald and Goofy's Attacks or just set to Sora Attack in Customize
6) Go in the fight
7) Block Terra's opening move (Rising Sun and Bike are the easiest to block)
8) Get close to him and jump attack. Make sure you are locked on and keep up attacks or he will break out and wreck you if you don't know what to do in this fight
9) Win and get trophy/Manifest illusion if you are farming

For anyone having trouble getting the initial hit, it might help to equip Donalds Comet limit along with auto-limit. Then spam Triangle at the beginning for invincibility. Then just find your hit :)
Also note that the lock breaks if you back into a rock (not sure about walls). Hence why I still havent beaten him lmao

I had Duck Flare on, and did LOTS of damage, that way. ;3 Stumbled a few times, but I remembered how to get him into an opening. ;3 I'm on Standard, so I just need the Journal 100%, along with Synthesis Notes, and Gummi Missions.
I know this is 7 years ago but did you get him eventually?
My tips would be to have lots of megalixirs & keep using Comet on Donald

It took me several tries to learn his basic attacks so that I could block them and get the technique going. I found that one fairly "easy" way to get started is to counter the "keyblade cannon", when he shoots a giant ball of light at you. Get pretty close to him and block the ball he shoots, it will be sent right back at him and will send him flying. Then immediately get started (Jump, attack and so on) right as he lands on the ground.
Then it took me several more tries to actually pull the whole thing off. Sometimes I just messed up and hit the wrong button accidentally, sometimes he decided to break out of stun early for no apparent reason, sometimes he woke up because of a rock on the battlefield...
Anyway, now it's done, so THANK YOU. I don't even wanna imagine trying to beat this guy legitimately. I'm playing on normal difficulty, I'm level 99 with fairly good gear, but this guy simply obliterates me. There's simply no fun in this shit.
And to think I still have to beat all 13 organization douchebags. I already got owned about 50 times by the first one I tried, Xemnas. I now consistently beat his first phase but the second phase is such a horrible mess... Also, Riku's one useless piece of shit. And of course, every time you lose, you gotta redo the first phase. It's SO infuriating and frustrating.
[EDIT] Oh yeah. I'll also have to do the critical playthrough. I'm NOT looking forward to it...

Dude, I would not start with Xemnas from the Organization, there is two stages so it is difficult but the second stage is easy with just triggering session over & over again and getting enough damage until you get to his reflect stage
I left this one for last & all the other data battles are straightforward, did you get through them?
Great guide, man! I beat him on Proud Mode. For those of you who still care and are struggling to close the distance and land a single hit, try using reflect instead of guard at the outset. There's at least a 30% chance he'll perform an initial attack that will stun him if reflected, making it easier to start the Neg Combo.

No Donald and goofy attacks? Go to customize and change their attack style to Sora attack.
Underrated tip! He broke out 5 times on me normally, did this and got it first time
After beating him for the first time and after some time to learn his patterns, I found this strategy. Now I use it to farm Manifest Illusion.
I tried like 30 times legit. And i was like FUCK IT. And did it this way
I used to do this, but spending hours trying to beat Yozora in KH3 helped make beating this boss the normal way easier.
Scratch that found the rhythm!!! 100% real!! 5hrs of trying to do that shit legitimately. 1hr of spamming and I finally beat him and that was a euphoric feeling still and a sigh of relief!!!

Would you say this is pretty fool proof? Like is it hard to get the rhythm down pat or do you literally just jump as soon as you can and attack as soon as you can? Or do you have to space it out. Thanks in advance

Am I doing something wrong because I get him to about half health and he counter attacks even though I'm wailing on him. I figured I'd keep Donalds cure and make them carry potions in case I screw up could that have affect on it?
he has an auto retaliate at about half health
But that strat actually ignores the auto retaliate. You can really stunlock him until the end.
Fought him normally and he just turns on god mode eventually. Hows this even possible to play legit

Sad to say this is the only way I can beat this fight. It’s a great strategy though, first time I tried it I got the win!
Every time I try this, either it won't let me jump at the very end to hit him, or a goddamn boulder would be in my way and screw me up. I'm just done!
It's so fucked because I know the entire fight in and out, can barely take any damage getting through his health bars, and then suddenly he'll lock my attack and then I'm fucked and I gotta reset.

Anybody able to get this to work on patch 1.05 for ps4? Playing on critical with strength 78 but after I take about a bar off he just shrugs it off and attacks.
This strategy doesn't work, he ALWAYS breaks out and punishes with lasers and his stupid slashing in the air attack!

Which version are you playing? And tbh, anyone that uses the fenrir cheat deserves to have Terra break out of it.

Hello! Awesome video. I have a question to ask? I'm following your strategy how to defeat Lingering Will. I'm running into a problem though. I'm pretty sure I equipped the right Keyblade and abilities for this fight, I do the swing moves however once I get him I sometimes get the same swing you do, and other times I get this swing that starts from the bottom and goes upward. this other swing messes the whole thing up. am I doing something wrong?

I can't get him to do any other beginning attack he ways locks my magic at the beginning he hasn't even touched his bike......
if you cant get last that just spam reflega before it hist you and you will be fine

Complete all world INCLUDING Atlantica and then defeat Final Xemnas. After the ending credits you can save and re-load, go into Disney Castle and the portal will be there

no because it will make you do 1 hit + finisher, you need both negative combos from skill tree + fenrir to eliminate the standard 3 combo hits to only allow finishers

Took me two hours trying this strat but it works. You literally can't let off jumping and attacking over and over. A slight mistiming or running into a wall will cause him to use his desperation move.

May want to make sure you don't have glide equipped.
Do you really NEED Fenrir? Or can I go without it?
Fenrir means that you only do finishers, so you physically can't do this method without the Fenrir keyblade! ;)

SShaBazzz But you aren't getting good at the game by doing this. By not doing this and learning the boss's moves, and learning how to handle or prepare for those attacks, you are getting good at the game.
EventfulGamer considering its an RPG instead of a online competitive game, it's really no difference. For me, the Lingering Will is just to sporadic for me. Some people can react to him but sense he just throws random attacks at me in a unforeseeable notice, I most of the time just die through a mechanic that really isn't fair and I don't like depending on luck after having to deal with the data fights. BBS I played 100% legitimate. But KH2 considering some of the fights are bugged and sometimes the game decides to give you certain death with nothing you can do about it, I eventually said fuck it.

All of these boss guides for Kingdom Hearts that say "all you need to do is x" are utter bullshit.
I'm sure this works if you can actually land a hit. But you can't, so it doesn't.
