  • 蝶豆花娘惹粽 Butterfly Pea Nyonya Dumpling 详细教程 适合初学者 Detailed Tutorial Suitable for Beginners #conniechai #食谱 #cooking #recipe #粽子
Nyonya rice dumpling originated from the Baba Nyonya food culture in Malacca in the 15th century, and is very famous in Southeast Asia. Although pork hind leg meat is also used as the main filling, the taste of Nyonya dumplings is very different from that of fresh meat dumplings. The taste is sweet and slightly spicy. Wait for the representative Nanyang spices to adjust the fragrance, and then match with the freshness and saltiness of the diced meat, which makes people very satisfied to eat, and does not feel any greasy at all. If you want to make a delicious and authentic Nyonya dumpling, you have to be persistent in terms of ingredients
Cooks can also add shiitake mushrooms, garlic, shallots, bean paste and diced pork to fry according to personal preference, and use Bunga Telang (Bunga Telang) and glutinous rice to cook blue glutinous rice to decorate the surface of the dumplings. Nyonya rice dumplings, also known as blue rice dumplings in Malaysia, have a special appearance, like Chinese blue-and-white porcelain, which is different from ordinary plain-colored rice dumplings. The light blue appearance is both beautiful and romantic, and it is pleasing to the eye.

You are one of the rare breed who uses pork hind leg meat as like my Malaccan Nyonya sister in law. They being true- blue Nyonyas were taught by their grandmas to use this cut.Of course every household differs. I was surprised to see it in your recipe . Penang nyonyas seldom use beanpaste but milled groundnuts is another ingredient found in their dumplings. Both versions are equally good. THank you for a genuine presentation
