The sticky side that peels off after applying an iron on vinyl works GREAT as transfer tape too. I store it by applying it onto the slick side of freezer paper.
Thank you so much , I tried for days to get a permanent vinal off the design . Green painter tape I had on hand so tried that. In two sec had the design where I wanted it. The good thing we always have it on hand. But getting the duck brand easy liner. Can’t thank you enough!!! ❤❤
This was extremely helpful! I just recently got into doing vinyl decals, and finding a good transfer tape has been my biggest issue. The last tape I purchased was made by Cricut, the Strong Grip tape. It's horrible, it won't transfer the decal to the surface and it's actually even taken the finish completely off the vinyl decal itself. Again this video was very helpful! Thank You a Million Times over!!! 🤘💯
If your trying to use it for regular vinyl, dap your strong grip transfer tape to a micro fiber rag about 6 to 8 times to lessen the grip and you should be able to get by!
I luuuUuuuve the duck brand because a bonus is it is shiney.... which, separate of my cricut projects is a great laminate DIY for different small items I make i.e. bookmarks! And like you said, fab' price! Great Video!
S-O-O-O timely for me! I just ran out of my Cricut brand transfer tape, which honestly, I have had so much trouble with, and was about to go to Walmart to get more anyway. I will definitely pick up the Duck brand Adhesive Liner. Thank you so much for your instruction videos and your comparison videos. YOU SAVE ME MONEY!!
Angie, thank you so much for taking the time to explain the difference. I was in a pinch and you are amazing. All the time and procedures you went through to show us the difference.WOW,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just started working with Cricut. I upgraded my craft area with doors and dreawers. I created word labels but the transfer process was horrible. Thanks to you I used masking tape to finish 12 labels. Every label transferred perfectly!
I know this is an older video but thank you. I'm not much of a vinyl crafter but once in awhile do something so i never needed large rolls of transfer paper. This really helped. Thank you
oh my goodness..i Love your video!!..it was late at night and I didn't have any transfer tape working with my glitter vinyI I was using to make some gold glitter crowns for wine glasses for my mother's 100th birthday. I was about ready to give up and use ribbons instead. But wanted a little something more since its such a monumental birthday!! looked in my tape area and found a lint brush, it worked like magic!! was so very happy I saw your video or I would never have thought of all the other alternatives if in a pinch:) Thanks for making her 100th birthday celebration even that more special!!
@@phyllismoravec3566 I have reused it and the number of times depends upon the type of vinyl being used and the surface the vinyl is applied to. Hope this helps.
Amazing... Am so glad to show me and others different papers to use.. I am retired and can afford the high price papers .... Now that I know I can afford the cheaper paper I can't wait to start transfering.. Thank you so much for sharing..
Thank you Angie, I bought the Duck easyliner. It is amazing !!!!!!! I bought roll 12 in x 36 ft and it costed me $5.69. I highly recommend this product. Thank you again !!!!!! Adele Norko
This was super helpful! I’m about to make our band logo for my drum set bass drum head. Now I know I can do it relatively cheap with stuff I already have at home.
Thank you Angie for this very informative comparison of transfer tape; who knew you could use masking tape to transfer vinyl projects! I really enjoy your channel!
This was awesome, I just got a Cricut Joy, and am having trouble with the transfer tape, I'm definitely going to try these. I experimented with clear box tape, it seemed to work really well.
I didn’t even know you could use painters, frog or masking tape as transfer tape. Thanks for that tip if in a bind. However I’m so happy to see the Duck brand liner worked so well and it’s less expensive. I just love these type of videos!
Just saw your video. Loved it! I just bought a Cricut a week ago, and I bought my transfer tape (Quick Cover by Con-Tact) at the Dollar Tree. It is 18 inches by 1.5 yds for $1.00. However, I will be on the lookout for the Duck brand. Thanks for all your hard work.
I always love your videos! I've been using the contact paper, but you've just convinced me to pick up a roll of the Duck Brand liner the next time I go to the store. Thanks for the video!
I've used Cricut Contact Paper and Dollar Tree contact paper, both which are way too sticky and hard to work with. Also both had creases in them as well that made them hard to work with. I have attempted a wedding present three times and have failed. I have wasted vinyl. I am going to try the painter's tape, as my husband has that lying around.
Thank you for that great comparison! I just ordered some Duck liner using your link. Very cheap! I was surprised at the price. And, possibly as a result of your video, it's currently out of stock until January 23.
Put vinyl on my first two mugs - used everything Cricut but the Cricut transfer tape tore while pulling it off - I just sat there with my jaw hanging down and then you come on - thank you for checking out so many kinds to use - I am going to try the duck brand the next time I’m out and see how that works
Amazing!! LOVE this video!! Saving money and learning about all the different products is awesome!! Thank you for sharing this with us so we know our options. Have a beautiful day!!!💗💐💗💐
LOVED THIS VIDEO. Always learn alot of info from you. I kind wished you showed one time on how you removed it from the glass. You'll probably say you have a video on that.. LOL will check on that later. :) thank you for all you do. HAPPY New Year.
I actually do! I used this same method: ua-cam.com/video/7AZlZvf5XqE/v-deo.html . There are like 3 methods in that video. The picking up with a craft knife worked best for this design.
Angie, I'm so glad you pointed me to this video. Thank you! I'm doubly happy you tried the Duck Shelf Liner. Some folks are complaining it leaves a residue on the vinyl after you put it on the final surface. Do you notice much of that? I'd be thrilled to know it's so inexpensive! :)
I know this is an older video but when I used the Duck Brand I peeled off the backing and applied to my wood but when I lifted the plastic to reveal the vinyl there was all kinds of sticky residue left behind. It was Clear Laminate Removable. Any idea why??
Just watched your video. I truly appreciate your comparisons. However, my daughter turned me onto the QC Quick Cover by Contact brand, 18 in x 1.5 yd (6.75 sq ft), at Dollar Tree. So that $1 plus tax roll is still less than 7 cents a sq ft! Thanks again for your great videos!
So glad I watched this! I just opened a cricut machine and I've been playing with things and I'm like uhhh... how do I put the vinyl on?! The duck brand easy liner is on sale at my store right now. I just ordered a roll! Thank you!
This was a great video for comparison...thank you! I have also used the sealing tape that is used to seal boxes for mailing and it works really well...haven't done the cost comparison but if you do another video you might want to include it. Thanks again!
I get the Dollar Tree transfer tape...its over 12 inches wide so I can easily do most size cuts. Can't beat a dollar and I reuse the same piece many times.
I always enjoy your reviews on comparing different brands for Cricut users. I am brand new to the Cricut world and was wondering how/where do I get a stencil like the one you are using. I would like to use something like that to try my hand at infusable ink coasters.
I love your videos - so informative! Thank you for this comparison. Have you done this on HTVl brands and everyday vinyl brands. I found a HTV Caregy was very thin and bubbled during the process and didn't peel off smooth. If you have done a comparison for vinyl brands I would enjoy that too. Thanks again.
Wow, thank you so much for the research, thorough testing, links and price comparisons you have done and provided! I was wondering, what transfer method do you recommend for transferring vinyl letters to bulletin board paper without ripping it? Maybe I’m looking for something not too sticky. Thank you so much!
I would use a light tack transfer tape and stick it to your shirt a few times then try putting it on the paper. You can also use HTV on paper and that is usually a better outcome!
When you say "Contact paper" do you mean that stuff you use to coat your book covers for protection? If so I have been considering using that as a TT but I would have thought it would be too strong for the vinyl transfer.
OMG!!!!! I was amazed by the painter's tape and masking tape trick. Thank you. 😳😃
You’re welcome 😊
The sticky side that peels off after applying an iron on vinyl works GREAT as transfer tape too. I store it by applying it onto the slick side of freezer paper.
I just asked that question. Do you even buy transfer tape or just re use that?
That is so interesting. I am in but I have t understood how!

Strong grip is really only for glitter vinyl or a few other specialty types. You shouldn't use it for regular vinyl.
I was also wondering about this :) is the vinyl being used in this video permanent Cricut vinyl?
If your trying to use it for regular vinyl, dap your strong grip transfer tape to a micro fiber rag about 6 to 8 times to lessen the grip and you should be able to get by!
Yes, I agree! Very helpful! I'm a newbie ☺️
I am currently using the Duck Easy Liner. I had to have something in a pinch a while back and picked it up at WalMart. I love it!! Thanks, Angie!!!

This was a fantastic video! It really helped as I really dislike the Circuit tape - always end up fighting with it!
Glad it helped!
You have such a relaxing voice. It can be asmr at night while trying to go to sleep. Great videos.

That was an image in Cricut Design Space. Try searching for mandala under images.
Thanks for continuing to test!! Can you do another test of the top 5 or 6 with a detailed design? And with glitter?
I definitely think I need to add glitter to my list! I think the duck brand from this one will work with just about any design. It is REALLY good.
Can you use the shelf liner to transfer on fabric? thank you, this was awesome. Debbie
You would not put adhesive vinyl on fabric. For that, you would use HTV and that uses a heat mask not transfer tape.
Excellent presentation/comparison/review.
How would you transfer an inkjet image to wood?
There are many ways to do that. Try this: ua-cam.com/video/BhlCF6lKr24/v-deo.html

Wow, thank you so much for the research, thorough testing, links and price comparisons you have done and provided! Yes. Same stuff.
