I would love to commend you for your sharing! More over, you camera presents! You are straight to the subject, have all your tools and materials ready for what you're doing, staying IN FRAME!! I can't tell you how many times I have changed videos because ppl just ramble, and start stories, play with pets or babies! You my dear are a breath of fresh air! 🦋❤️
I agree. I am a brand new Cricut owner and my head is spinning from trying to learn. I commented on your hack vid how much I love your teaching style and your straight-forward instructions. I'm learning so much and feel like I just may be able to get the hang of this now, thanks to you. 👏
Love the tip for using strong grip on the back of felt to save your mats. In addition to weeding on the mat, use the clear protective sheet to cover the unused portion of the mat to avoid your arm/hand from resting on the sticky. So much more comfortable, especially for tricksy weeding.
Tip I love is Arleen’s stick it over and over. Water down and you can make mats sticky again! I make cheer bows and have had the same 12x24 mats since the first expression came out.
When cutting cardstock, especially textured cardstock, put it on the mat with the texture side face down, mirror your cut and use the intricate cut for cardstock setting. Cutting from the back side of your project makes the cuts so much cleaner.
that is a great tip. I had a hard time having my maker cut the textured cardstock then i put it face up but i did not realize i would have to mirror.. LOL.. so glad i read this to know to do it that way from now on.... What about the glitter cardstock would that be the same way then? and what setting do you put yours on to cut that kind of cardstock
@@denisebendickson8593 I try to stay away from most glitter cardstock because of the mess. When I do use it I put it glitter side up so I don't get it all over my mat. The glitter cardstock setting has worked most of the time.
You're the best! I'm new to cricut, not trying to go into business, but for just family use, and so many cricut experts just do not want to share their secrets. Thank you so much! You are wonderful!
me too but all i have done so far is cardstock and one holigrahic piece but on that i forgot to mirror lol so i had to take the little feet off my little round piece of glass and do it that way so it would not be cut on when i use it to chop something on them
I always learn something good when I watch your videos even though I’ve been Cricuting for several years. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. With tip # 10 (laminating a cheat sheet), I have switched to putting the sheets in sheet protectors rather than laminating them. Invariably, updates are made and if they are in a sheet protector I can just pull that page out and put the new one in it’s place.
Scotch makes pocket or pouch laminate squares, too.. for easy updates? You don't have to seal them to use them. I have one of those carabiners with three rings on them and I use those to cycle things like notes in and out. Or try on for a while before deciding their permanent or not. And chalk pens. Those are all over my house for kids, hubby, ect.. mirrors, windows, anything with a smooth washable surface
OMG, that parchment paper hack blew me away!!! I'm always so intimidated with layering everything so perfectly and this is a game changer!!! Thank you so very much for ALL of these hacks. You are so wonderful for sharing all of your knowledge with us. I so appreciate it!!! ❣💐❣💐
My hack is to maximize material by not weeding parts away into the trash - I use transfer tape and carefully separate the "positive" from the "negative" of whatever I made. Let's say I want to put a text label on my cabinet to tell me what's in it. The text is the positive piece. The negative piece, a rectangle with letters cut out of it, can be placed on something else OR become a stencil.
Great tips! I just got a brayer for Christmas and I love it! I also use parchment paper to put on the back of stencils I use for etching. Cut in the middle and place each piece of parchment on each side of the stencil. Then, place stencil, and working from the middle, pull one side of the parchment paper back as you press down the stencil, then do the other side. Keeps your designs straight and helps get your vinyl on the etching project without any errors!
Ok, so I just had my life changed in 18 minutes!! that was AWESOME!! I will use those hacks again and again.. You just took the frustration out of my crafting projects.. Thanks so. Much
Mind. Blown. Getting Post-It & pen, hit re-play.......thinking of a craft space sign over my desk......”Parchment paper layering - pure genius. (Remembering that for putting printable vinyl on coasters!). Transfer tape for felt/leather. More genius. All of it......be still my heart.
Angie, I am always amazed by your videos! I have learned so much from your content! Your straight forward, no nonsense way of presenting the information is terrific and very much appreciated. Your tips and info are very relevant and always super helpful. Your list of resources is invaluable. I especially like the way you always present clear and concise examples of what you are presenting. The camera work is spot on! Thanks a million and keep up the great work!
Just new to the Cricut and have been binge watching UA-cam. You have the best, most understandable and useful channel and presentation style :) No Heeya's, constant channel plugging or rambling, just useful information presented for 'grown up' crafters. Thank You :)
I saw a tip to cut cute crafty sayings (or whatever you wanna put on them) in permanent vinyl to put on the clear mat covers. I cut a bunch from dollar tree vinyl as both beginner practice and to keep my covers visible when not on the mat lol
Hello Angie, I just bought a new heat press is there a place I can go to get a chart on Tempeture and time to set the controls for 100% polyester? Thank you
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I really appreciate it. I’m 73 and I got my cricket machine for Christmas and just reason started to try and use.
I've also used clear contact paper to cut felt on, but i put the contact paper right on the mat and then the felt. I like the idea of putting it on the felt itself instead!!
Really love your video's, so easy to understand. I love using a fabric roller, I simply stick my weeded bits to the roller (I bought a mini fold up one). The other item I love is the weeding pin pen, sharper and smaller compared to the Cricut normal weeders.
Thank you for this! I have heard of a couple of these hacks, but no one has ever explained it as perfectly as you did! Now, I really understand the "why" behind each hack! I will definitely be using all of these :)
OMGosh! Loved your hacks! I particularly loved the layering hack!!! I have shied away from layering after a few fails because of not being able to line up the designs. Thank you for the hacks and sharing!
I learned about burnishing the underside of a decal if it's being difficult and won't release from the backing and stick to the transfer tape. Just flip over the backing where the green Cricut grid is printed and burnish that side. Easy cheesy! Also, instead of the strong grip tape, I have put painters tape on the backs of things to keep them from gunking up my mats, or if I'm writing on an envelope and don't want the flap to stick to the mat, I just put down a piece of painter's tape where the flap is so the mat doesn't stick to the part you're supposed to lick to seal the envelope. My craft room would not run without painter's tape 😂
I have wanted a cricut since they came out, what? 20 yrs ago? Idk. But never got one. 1 month after the Maker 3 comes out (i had no idea) the bf buys me one! So excited! And in the fashion of me 🙄 i spend 500 hrs over researching EVERYTHING before really trying to use it. And thank God! Especially for you! I had already started to make a cheat sheet when i ran across your video..may still buy it. So far i love your stuff!
Thanks for the tips . I found that most of the rubbish on my mats come off my clothing while I am weeding. So I take the vinyl off the good mat and put it on an old not so sticky mat, brayer it on and weed it from there. Another hack is to put the mat cover sheet back over the mat except for the area I am weeding. My arm rest s on the cover sheet
Hi Angie I have question?how Do you get and image onto a glass without it having static in it then it's stuck? So frustrated mine image was stuck to glass had to scrape it off the glass.
Angie, what an awsome video. You explain everything so clearly. Thank you so much. Do you however, have written instructions on all of these. I like to refer back to them when I can't find the video. You can also add a guide mark to the bottom of all of your layer designs. Add a rectangle below your images. (Duplicate the rectangle so the dimensions are the same) then line up the mark for all designs when layering and they line up perfect every time.
Loved your hacks the only one I use that you didn't mention is that I put a sticker on the outside of that clear protective mat cover. It makes it easier to find and I always put the same side against the mat when I put it away. Of course if you write notes on it the sticker won't be as necessary. Love your videos keep 'em comin'.

I rec'd a Cricut Explore Air 2; Joy & 12x12 EasyPress for Mother's Day 2021. I stumbled upon your video Cricut Printable Vinyl and was SOOOO encouraged! I immediately searched for more of your tutorials and can't wait to start crafting! Thank YOU so very much for explaining things so that me, a visual learner, can understand! I would like to buy your cheat sheets but am not able to locate the link.
