    Liz, go to Bryce while you are in the area, they have a very long bike path outside the park all the way into the park. Also, head down south of Kanab to Fredonia for the best hand spun milkshakes and cookies 👍

    Sounds like a dream 🚴 and just what I need to slowly build myself up after years of chemotherapy and surgery. I’m lucky to still have both legs as I was due to have major surgery with the likelihood of a full amputation. It was scheduled and the day of surgery I had an early call to say that all operations were cancelled due to the covid pandemic 😷. This saved my leg and probably my life but the payment was 5 years of shielding. It’s why I’m desperate to buy an RV and explore America.
    Born American I have lived the majority of my life in the United Kingdom & France and it’s definitely time to start my journey.
    I’m really grateful for all your tips ❤

    We are preparing to take our e-bikes to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We were going to go back to Glacier, but we couldn't get a reservation, and the end-of-May reservations haven't been released yet. With many National Parks going to a reservation system, it makes it harder to visit, so I'm glad they are allowing more types of bikes. We love our Rad Power e-bikes. They have allowed us much more flexibility in riding. At 52, with respiratory issues, I can't do a lot of big hills so this is giving me more freedom.

    For sure, Bryce is my favorite park! Have hiked the Grand Canyon South rim to North rim 4 time in 20 years and although I loved it, Bryce is my favorite especially in winter. Well Liz, you did it again, great video full of pearls and must does and great discounts! I always anticipate my Fridays to learn from you… thank you! I purchased RV Trip Wizard for a circuitous trip from Texas to Oregon, making multiple stops and detours to visit family. However, I do not own an RV. Yet, even though I didn’t use some of the features RV Trip Wizard has for RVs, it was invaluable to chart a path for my 1 ton diesel dually. It allowed me to itemize the trip with a budget planner, the mileage and stops were fairly accurate, and a nice feature was inputting my truck’s size, weight, fuel mileage, capacity and the program made recommendations for stops. If a hotel in the selected stop wasn’t suitable, then it was super easy to change the parameters.

    Hi Liz. Great to see you biking at the Grand Canyon! The suggestion to bike on the bus only routes in National Parks is an excellent idea. You will find that this works great at Zion when you ride from Springdale up to the Temple of Sinawaya. Make sure you stop at Bryce Canyon and ride the bike trail into the park from the Red Canyon Trail Head on Hwy.12 into the National Park. The bike trail is about 12 miles long into the park. Have fun!!

    Liz, i’ve been using RV trip wizard for a couple years. I’ve been using the RV Life app so I could see directions real time, like Google maps. The RV life app sometimes waited too long to tell you which way to turn. Also, I don’t believe it shows potential traffic issues like Google maps and Apple Maps and Waze. I hope the app improves. I can actually see the map on my screen in my 2016 Chevy Silverado with Apple CarPlay.

    At the Grand Canyon NP bicycles are not allowed on the South Rim trail. I’ve never seen this enforced and I’ve ridden my bike on the trail but just so you know.😮 Also, what is the code for the bike discount, I couldn’t find it?

    Hi, I am looking at ebikes for a trip up the National Park area of the C & O Canal from Georgetown to Cumberland, (approx 185 miles). The info I see restricts the electric motor to not more than 750 watts, and which ceases to provide assistance when the e-bike reaches 20 mph. Does your bike fit those specs? I would not ant to get one that does not fit the NPS regulations. Thanks for any advice

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  Рік тому

      Hi Bob! I rode the C & O (and the greater Allegheny passage) over 300 miles from Pittsburgh to Washington DC. You would be well served with a gravel tire or fat tire bike. I did it on the same bike in the video you just watched. Well, technically not legal, none of us in the group had a problem, and I had no problems in the Grand Canyon and Zion just now. Here’s my video about that ride. Have fun! RV life: Epic 336 mile biking adventure from Pittsburgh to DC | GAPCO

    Unfortunately many of national parks are class 1 only. Acadia is an example of this. We didn't have problems with our class 3 bikes when we were there but there is always the potential for a ranger to ticket you.
    In addition to the top speed under power and throttle rules US ebikes are limited to 750 watts. Anything over that is in the gray area of moped or electric motorcycle. The rules are vague on whether that is peak power or continuous power. Juiced may be using peak power o get around this with creative ratings and actually be a 750 watt continuous power bike.

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  Рік тому

      Yeah I don’t know how they get around that and they are not the only ones. I have camping neighbors here with 1500 watt E bikes. And in doing my research, I was surprised how each national park has different rules regarding which class. Thanks for watching and happy riding to you.

    We love our ebikes! Before we got them I could not keep up with my wife. Hills were almost impossible with the lung condition I have. I never smoked in my life but an autoimmune disease can cripple you. The e-bikes flatten out those hills and allow me to keep up and get some exercise. They are peddle assist and can seemingly go forever, or however long your butt can tolerate being on the seat. While we were in Arches National Park we saw some people biking. There aren’t any dedicated bike trails so you’re sharing the road with vehicles. They were an absolute hazard to themselves and everyone else trying to get around them. Brave souls but I never would have done it. Getting whacked in the head by a mirror on a camper is bad way to end your holiday.

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  Рік тому

      Yay, so glad you are enjoying ebikes! Sorry to hear about your lung condition but happy that you can still get out and camp! "Flatten the hills!" that is so true! I'm with you on biking on the roads in Arches. I've been to that park and it sure is crowded, not a good idea to bike with the traffic. But there is a nice paved bike trail outside the park called the Moab Canyon Trail. There's also a branch off of it that goes along the Colorado River. Thanks for your comment, Warren!

    Hey Liz!! I wanted to ask you if you ever tried to put your juiced bike inside your Grand Design Solitude when you lived in it. I know they’re heavy, but do you think it’s possible with a ramp? I realize it also depends on the particular floor plan and if there is enough room at the front door to maneuver the handlebars through the door opening. I’d really appreciate your insight!! Thanks so much!!

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  Рік тому

      Ohh goodness. We were fulltime in 240 sf so no room for a bicycle. Besides getting a ramp we'd have to take the handlebars off to get it in the door. And then prob remove the dining table!
