Desserts, forest, grasslands & parklands all have their beauty. I think North America has the prettiest deserts. The Great Basin Desert is my favorite.

There are mud pots too. Have some nice pics from years ago when I took some nieces and nephews out there, near the Salton Sea. There used to be years ago a hotel near the sea where Clark Gable, and other old time hollywood stars would spend time at the hot springs, they had cement tanks that they would pump the water into, and mud baths. Just remembering that reminds me of my dad, he loved to explore our desert.
I don't know if it has a name, but about 50 years ago we visited a warm spring pond like this in the middle of Nevada. Located about halfway between Ely and Elko. Private property owned by friends of ours. It had tropical fish living in it year round. And this beautiful turquoise color too.

There's a couple just south of Wendover, right along the Utah Border. "Blue Lake". Great bass fishing; we've caught Tilapia, Cichlid, and Pumpkinseed there, too. Isn't the West just amazing?

My wive’s family has a ranch that uses the spring water to irrigate and that little fish you talked about lives in that spring too, and likes to nibble at the dead skin that we all have

@@pso142 thank you! You can either leave it on the shore with your towel and other stuff or you can always get a dry bag and float it along with you. Just be sure that you get a nice dry bag that doesn't leak if you go with that option
Another method of emphasizing your message on (keeping the area clean) would have been to tell people how clean the area was and what a good job people were doing of keeping it clean. Their are multiple signs asking people to pick up their trash. People are way more motivated by positive reinforcement. Just saying.
My friends and I visited this spot when we were working in Baker, NV at Great Basin NP. I completely forgot about it until it just showed up on my feed. I used to tell people about it all the time.
Always check the water temp first. A friend was near a hot spring and her lab jumped in, he was broiled almost instantly and died before he could get out of the water! Sad I know, she cried as she told me the story!

There was a great hot spring in northern Nevada that I used to go to often. The Bureau of Land Management decided to “improve” it. It’s not worth going to now.
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I’m glad to learn about this place (and I hope to go there) but on the other hand, telling the world has a potential to draw masses of people. When I discover special places I try to keep it a secret. Lastly, the music on this video sucks. Sorry to sound so negative. I’m not attacking you. Just being honest with my feelings. Peace. ✌🏼

I know I'm not alone in that. So her argument is completely valid. Yours is iffy at best.

We have been camping there a couple of times.

Back in the early 60s there was a working hot springs resort north of Elko called Mineral Hot Springs. Fantastic experience.

Yeah I got lost in the desert in Nevada I didn't see that I got sunburned I was there for like 4 hours till they found me
My wife and I did Gold strike twice. It is a very difficult hike but very worth it
