I used to live in a village like this where everyone is spying on the other and gossiping about each other... it felt as if I couldn't breathe there and so I moved to the City where no one knows each other. I feel free here... but also a bit lonely. Can't have it all, i suppose. But i wouldn't go back to the village nevertheless.
wow that must of been hell for you cadburry well glad you feel free in the city but unfortunately I'm sorry you feel alone in it (right now I want to move away from the city and be in a town)
This animation really shows how crab mentality affects people. The broom lady swooping is a thief that steals the apples in secret. The large guy is an abusive husband and a scapegoater. The priest is a fraud and greed, by acting like hes doing the works of God, but rather drinking all the wine in the church. The yellow guy is a greed, hiding all the treasure in his chest. And the old lady is a gossiper, and an incriminator, stalking people, and lying their actions to represent them as a criminal. Because shes a total narcissist who likes putting others down. Aswell as the Prisoner, despite having an open escape, decides to rat out the Man with glasses, because he cannot bear the fact that he accomplished the ability to escape before him. Compared the village to the ants really contrasts how both societies work. Having the ants have a cooperative society and each ant helping the other out.
This is the 7 deadly sins. I didn't see anyone else comment it maybe it got buried. Greed is the man who has the gold, envy is the man who murders greed, wrath is the angry old woman, sloth is the lazy drunk priest, gluttony is the fat woman who steals apples from the village, lust is the man with glasses who despite being innocent couldn't explain his whereabouts due to being with another man's wife (he's not evil it just shows how it can get you in trouble because envy blames him for the murder because once again he is envious). Pride is the prisoner who would rather sit in prison then to free himself by lust's escape tunnel.
Watching this doesnt fele like real life. I don't think i ever watched this animation once in my life but it feels like i already watched it, brigns up nostalgia

People go to church and praise God with hymns, odes, and Psalms, but later do horrible things.......one has a treasure chest hidden under his bed,a wife cheating on her husband, an old lady seeking to expose people, the priest spitting on prisoners and drinking himself to death, the aforementioned husband treating his wife like a maid and seeking to steal his neighbor's treasure......this is what we call:secularization! The Village is often viewed as a mirror to society, especially in how it addresses themes of conformity, individual freedom, and social control. Created during a time when Eastern Europe was under heavy political influence and censorship, Jiří Trnka's The Village can be interpreted as a quiet critique of totalitarianism and the suppression of individuality.
Interesting, according to the information I can find on the official website/Wikipedia it's made by Mark Baker (an English animator) and I can't find anything about a relation to Jiří Trnka.
Bro the prisoner besides the good guy could have escaped with him the first time, but he got jealous of the good guy when the woman gave him the shovel because it means he was loved by someone enough to help him escape which made him mad. he rather rat him out and screw his own freedom, just to make himself feel better and make the good guy just as miserable as him. What an incel.😒
I like that there's plenty of interpretations for this. An example is i think the village folks were not necessary wrong people, but wanted goods times without regards for their actions. They pointed fingers for the murder. When building the gallows, the lady eat apples, the husband shares, the clerk is drinking with people and the old lady is nice. They do the same thing as usual. Once however the gardener is gone, everybody is lamenting and returning to their flaws habits. They built the gallows from someone else efforts, and won't even try to make some themselves to have good times again. Sadly it depicts our society, where we always wait for people to make first moves, myself included.
Here's my analysis: The ant colony represents a utopia ( or at best a better economy ) than the village. There are several occurrences of them after the results of chaos caused by the people potentially symbolizing how dirty society can be. The ants may symbolize a restoration after chaos, death, and sin. The allegory of the village focuses on the 7 deadly sins in renditions of people. The following timestamps will cover how each of them commit their respective sins: 1:27 Gluttony 1:45 Sloth 2:37 Greed 2:47 Envy 3:48 Wrath 5:44 Lust 10:30 Pride People like Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony, & Envy can blend into society easily. It is even worse that there are people like this in real life.
Reminds me of small towns in USA. Mine could have been this if I stayed longer than 21 years. Glad I got out when I did to explore the world outside of it.
And then this guy with glasses lost weight and, together with his girlfriend, found a new home in a place called Soul Society, where they parted ways. He subsequently made rapid progress in his career, achieving a place in Gotei 13. He even corrected his eyesight, but still wore glasses out of old habit, and as a reminder of how, thanks to this detail, he was able to deceive his fellow villagers by faking his death. This guy's name was Aizen Sosuke.

Interesante animación. Lo que yo noté es que las personas dejaron de ocultar sus malas acciones cuando descubrieron que en la aldea había un criminal. Es como si el hecho de que hubiera una persona que ha cometido un acto tan atroz, minimizara sus malos actos.
