So a suggestion for the Freeze Miser, the stock tank you showed is really full. Once it freezes, the miser will, of course, let water out to keep the line from freezing. The issue is the ice build-up can reach the miser and cause it to freeze. So either adjust the water level in the tank or move the miser so it runs outside of the tank. That way, the miser can continue to run unimpeded by the freezing water. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way using it the first year and froze up my line immediately.
I am glad your 10 calves showed up. 🐃 It is 12° at the moment here in the DFW area. There were snow flurries earlier. I am not sure we will get enough to amount to anything. We did get some insulated outdoor shelters made for our 3 feral cats. Homemade beef chili and cornbread is definitely on our menu for Monday. Stay warm. 🧣🧤🧦

Yeah, definitely not normal for us. I filmed all this yesterday. Today, our high was about 20. Currently coming a blizzard. We get above freezing again on Thursday.
You will see some kernels in the manure, but much of the starch from the kernels is digested. Cracked or rolled corn is usually about 10-15% more digestible than whole shelled. When we are feeding these small numbers, that marginal increase does not offset the costs and time needed for the extra processing. We are fortunate to have easy access to this corn. Basically comes straight out of the combine and into our steers.

Possible, but not likely. I guess they could cut the fence and push them to a neighboring place to load out. Easiest way would be to cut our locks and use our facilities to load them up (but I’d obviously see evidence of that). Most thieves are too lazy for all that work!

He did. We both sold our stockers early in ‘22. He had another group last year that sold in October, I think
