Thank you SO much for sharing this. I'm due with our first child in January, and I do not get maternity leave other than the FMLA (which isn't paid), so the only paid time off I get is whatever vacation time I have saved up, which is just under 4 months. I plan to take a month of LWOP under FMLA to stay home for 5 months. Despite both of us having good government jobs, we do not want to have to live paycheck to paycheck for me to stay home (we live in a high cost of living area). I've tried finding working mom videos, but most of what I find are working moms who have a family member or nanny at home to watch their baby, or they work PART TIME. I really appreciate your honesty in how difficult being a full-time working mom is. You're setting a wonderful example for your girls to be strong women someday. Keep on rocking it, girl!
Thank you SO much for commenting!!! I agree most Mom's who do work on YT are part time and it's nothing even close to the same as being a full time working mom. It's hard! Thinking of you as you prep for this journey!!
That is terrible! Here in Australia we get 3 months from work paid leave and 5 months from the government paid leave! So 8 mths! Wake up America! Mums are important and need time with their babies!!!!!
Absolutely! I felt sick watching your video! I hope things change in the future! I thought it was awful going back to work when my baby was 9 months! I can't even begin to imagine how you feel!!!! You are amazing!!!!! I'm glad I live in a country that supports working mothers though, and appreciates the time that they need to take off. Wake up America that's all that I can say !!!
rachaelclare1 I wish we could get 8 months. That's a blessing. Although we do we get paid 12 weeks from FMLA starting January 2018. That's my knowledge.... but it doesn't help me.. I'll be be back to work after 3 months 😟
They do & it sucks our job only gives us 6-8 weeks 😓 & that’s on short term disability 60% pay which is barely nothing & on top of that FMLA doesn’t pay anything just protects our job. I’m going to be so sad to leave my baby 😓😓
love your working mom videos because I am a working mom too! I cried with you. I'm due any day with my 3rd. and it doesn't get easier that first day or days back.
Thank you so much for making this video! I go back to work in just 4 days and I needed to hear everything you said. My son is 11 weeks and i break down just at the thought of walking back to my car after I drop him off on Monday morning.
Me to, I'm crying right now because I don't have any option but going back to work tomorrow and being in a Third World country makes it worse, all day cares are closed due to C19 I'm leaving my two babies with a nanny.
By far the best video I have seen for a breastfeeding working mom (personal opinion). I can see my self in your position. I'm getting ready to head to work soon this helps me a lot. Thank you for sharing your day
I was literally in tears when you were in your car on your way to work. You are a wonderful and strong mom. I know if I had to leave my girl when she was a newborn to go to work I would have broke down crying all the way to work. You seem to have done a great job!!
You are definitely a super mum. I know it's hard, but you are doing it for your family. They will be better and well adjusted children and the time you have with your babies will be so precious
I'm currently on maternity leave taking my full 12 weeks so I don't go back until the 12th of October, but I am just trying to prepare myself for when I do go back. I hate it so much I which I could be off for his first year. Thanks for the video!
Ugh YIKES I am sitting here crying with you because my little guy is 3 weeks old on Monday and I only get six weeks with him before I have to be away from him for eight hours everyday. I am looking up videos of going back to work moms to try and prepare myself but I am NOT prepared. I wish I could just be paid to be a good mom because I do not want to leave him ever. 😥😥
I have my 11 week old asleep in my arms right now. Am bawling watching your video. I return to work in 2 Weeks and am hurting so much at the thought of leaving him all day. America needs to step up when it comes to maternity leave. I hope it gets easier.
Christina Resillez we definitely need change that is for sure. You will figure out your new normal and it's amazing how strong you can be when you need to. Just remember that no one can ever replace you and the quality of your time matters over quantity.
This video just showed up as a suggested video for me and it gave me all the feels! I know it was over a year ago you posted this, but the emotions are raw and so relatable. I cried every day of the first week back to work with both of my babies. And if I'm being honest I still feel like crying on occasion when I leave them. As I said, I know this is an older video, but thank you for posting such a wonderful and motivational video for all of us working mamas!
This video was so encouraging to me. I have seen a few videos similar except your situation really closely mirrors mine. So it gives me a lot of hope to see how happy and thriving your kids are despite you having to work full time. It definitely shows me that it's possible even though it feels right now like it's not! So, thanks for taking the time to film, edit and share it really makes a difference ♥️
I'm not a mom but I've been so close to my little cousing since she was born 3 months ago and tomorrow her mom is back to work and the baby is gonna be with other relative almost all day, I'm crying like a baby after this 3 months with her everyday I'm so sentimental about not seeing her all day, I can't imagine how difficult is this process for moms and let me tell you I'm so proud of every mom that works and raise baby's you're so incredible.
Wow this is so hard to watch I’m going to cry so hard after having to leave my baby boy after 8 weeks 😓😓😓 great thing though is we have a family daycare that I really trust so that gives me some relief!
I only got 6 weeks. 😢 Im going back to work tomorrow. Thank the Lord my mother in law will watch my baby and I feel better knowing he’ll have a piece of me with him having my milk. I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old too.
Omg I don't know how you did this you are a rock star. I live in Canada and my province gives us 12 months off and my baby girl is 3 1/2 months old and it would kill me to leave her. I wish you guys had more time to stay at home.
Thanks for posting this video! I am a recent return to work mom and a 10 week old. The only thing helping is my husband home for 3 more weeks with her before daycare. I am glad I stumbled on your channel. So, many are young young moms and aren't going through the same things!
That makes me SO happy to hear! When I was pregnant with my first I had the same issue, there were no working mom's on YT and I didn't have anyone to relate to, so it has inspired me to share my journey for mom's like us.
Us working moms are so busy. It shouldn't surprise me there arent more on YT! I do believe there is a great gap you are helping fill. I have been toying with the idea too.
You're so strong and beautiful and such a great mom. Your family is beautiful. Very inspiring because I'm going back to work as well. I'm also feeling really sad. Rock on mom!!
here In tx at my company they gave me 6 weeks leave I couldn't do it! here I am 2 years later as a stay at home mom but i am 21 weeks pregnant now and will be finding a job 2 months after baby, love your video!!
I feel ya. I had to go back to work when my baby was 3 weeks old. My work said I could take 8 weeks off, but as the main income in my family I wasn't able to take more time off. My husband told me the same thing that no matter what, I am still mom and they won't forget me.
today is my first day back to work and i’m dreading it. I’m so sad to leave my little baby and I know it’s going to be water works! it’s so sad our babies need us for energy and everything. we grew them all that time then we get taken from them to support us when they need us most! it’s so sad
I so feel for you! I have a four year old and a four month old and I was so mixed with emotions my first day back too. I can't imagine being sick on top of that! 😕 Thanks for sharing your day, would love to see more working mom videos!
Aw, I'm tearing up... You are very strong! I can't believe you had to go back to work when your little one is only 3 months old! 🙁 Beautiful video. I'm going back to work after 11 months mat leave, in a month, but it's only part time... I'm sad 😔
Thank you for this video I'm tearful right now as I'm reluctantly returning to work in three weeks and bracing myself for that time of leaving my little one for the first time.
I love this video, I can completely fully relate. I work full time and have two babies (5 and 1) so they are close in age and my 5 year old is in dance as well. I completely relate! Except you were able to pump way more #goals lol.
I needed to see this video 8-) I will always be mommy God is good for leading me towards your video. My daughter is 4 months old and I have to work to help our family soon but the anxiety of being away from my daughter is very depressing. I think she will forget about mommy once I am away.
Mothers in America have it so hard I can relate to this video so much and appreciate all the companies that address this issue and give paid leave. The first year I feel as though should be paid.
Aw, I cried right with you. Somehow, I thought returning to work after my second daughter was born would be easier, since I was already a working mom. Um, no. But, it does get easier. My youngest is now 2 years old, and while I do get sad still, it's our life and I try to be thankful for the blessings we have.
I know how you feel! With my first I was a stay at home mom for his first year and that was hard going to work again. This time with my second son I’ll be going back to work and he won’t even be two months old...our maternity leave is only 6 weeks for natural birth...and 8 for c-section. It sucks but we have to do what’s best for our kids! I know it’ll be harder for me this time around since he is so small still. As long as baby is in good hands that’s all that matters! 🙂
Aftr being home for 2 years, im going to work tomorow. Im scared i looked for videos on youtube. Ill miss them sooo much. Im so scared.i wont sleep tonight
You are superwoman I admire you so much I have to go back to work as well I have 2 kids and I'm stressing but after watching this video you inspire me sooooo much thank you 👍🙏🏻
This was so sad! I felt your pain. I had to do the same with my 1st two. Om on my 3rd and I get sad whenever me and my husband talk about me going back to work. I dont know what it is, but it's almost like a mini panic attack but then we always go back to me staying with the kids until they go to school.
Oh America is so behind on this. Is there no lobby groups pushing the government for change on this? We get 6months state paid maternity leave and 2 weeks paternity leave. The state paid maternity leave isn't an awful lot of money. I still think 6months is too young. I feel so sorry for you guys :( it will get easier for you xx
Thank you!! And yes, we do need major reform in this, and it has been an issue for years but unfortunately there has not been progress made in the laws yet.
Such a good car speech girl! I agree with you on all of it! I have a whole video coming soon about work issues and work stuff. I can't believe that you guys get snow in May. That's so unreal compared to us. We have summertime weather already. I actually wish we got more of a winter.
I have 4 weeks left from my leave, 12 weeks are not enough, It’s hard to leave a baby that’s not even able to soothe himself, they say don’t try anything before 3 months and after that I’m going back to work so how can teach him to soothe himself and have a routine when I’m working
LOL Love your sign in the kitchen "I decided to order take out!" . oh gosh, how sweet is Emma "It's time to see your girls again!" I hope you all are feeling back to normal soon
I’m at uni doing my Nursing course. Spoken to my rude course leader. She said max I can have is 3 weeks that includes birth n recovery. Then back to lectures n work placements. I’m worried would I heal in time for that uni stress, would my 2 wks old baby be Steiger enough to leave with hubby whose gna spilt in paternity leave into 3 weeks. Then I’d be 3 weeks for annual leave uni would be closed. Then I got 4m hosp placement I have to leave baby his gna be 9wks. Or she has suggested I should interrupt my studies n rejoin in Feb 2020. My baby is due Feb 2019. It is ideal to postpone the course but I think I can do it return back after 3wks. My gods will, hubby n family help, scheduling, planning n I’m quite organised. I’m only 22wks n got all my baby stuff. Only thing left is bottles, on the go express set, breast pump. That 3 wks I’m gna make notes how many time baby eats, poo n sleeps, so I can have a schedule made for my husband n my family whose willing to help me. Sept 2019 I’d start uni 2nd yr, baby would be nearly 7m. 2nd yr gna be tough coz pgdip is intense Nursing course plus I’m gna do my Msc module on top of that. I just pray labour goes well, no c section, babys healthy no illness, I pray baby is a good sleeper so I can study.
This was great to so. I plan to be working mom. I make good money and more than hubby so he would be the one to stay if one of us did. We shall see. I loved watching this!
Im gna leave my 2wks old baby to hubby whose taking his paternity leave splitting it in 3 weeks. I have 3wks max for birth n recovery before returning back to uni. Shit law in London! U video made me cry coz ur baby is 3m but deep down it made me cry coz I’d be leaving mine just 2wks old. I’d probably have a mental breakdown. But it’s hard but u have to become successful it’s for the children anyways.
It's even hard when your baby holds you tight and cry and it's like she needs you at that time..you feel so helpless.. it's really very hard..!! No one can take a mom's place and no one could ever understand what we go through everyday..but we stay strong bcuz we know we are working for the betterment of their future..!!
That is so disgusting that you only get 12 weeks 3 months old 😫I am literally in shock. It's a disgrace to be honest that you are forced to do this. My baby is 10 months old i am in England and I'm going back next week to work full time and was thinking I'm finding this hard but that is awful I can't imagine leaving her after 3 months mostly because of how fragile a baby is still at that age. I just can't believe it makes me feel really angry! I just don't understand why they would think 12 weeks is enough and that's unpaid?
Callofbeauty911 if you live in the US you are legally entitled to 12 weeks off under FMLA without being fired. I know about of benefits runout after 6 but legally you can take up to 12. Sorry if you do have to go back early that's so unfortunate.
Atleast u get to leave work early... #ja if u r not in government based organizations or shift organizations its like u at work 8 30... N u won't leave until 6.. For the busy areas n if u taking the bus u prolly won't be home again until 8 30.... So its more than 12hrs a day u r out of the house. I got a 4 yr old soon to be 5. N Ive got a 6months old tummy... Due in October. And I'm worried about going back to work.... And leaving not only one this tine but two... N one so young.... Sigh
i left my baby at 8 weeks, not even 2 months. i still cry thinking about and she just turned 1..its so hard and unfair in America for moms :(
Really sad 😟
I was pregnant with you, my son was born on the 28th of January. I couldn't afford to take all 3 mos. You're right this is insane in the USA in 2017.
BohemianSojourner I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm so fortunate that I get a disability benefit and that we can afford for me to take the time off.
Thank you SO much for sharing this. 😢
I go back to work tomorrow and saw your video. I have a 5 year old and 3 month old currently. I really needed to see this thank you.
So glad it helped you! I just went back to work in October after having our 3rd and it doesn't get any easier, but you find a way to adjust!
Me to, I'm crying right now because I don't have any option but going back to work tomorrow and being in a Third World country makes it worse, all day cares are closed due to C19 I'm leaving my two babies with a nanny.
I admire you so much, one day when your girls are older they will see this and love you even more!
Sarah 101 thank you so much!
By far the best video I have seen for a breastfeeding working mom (personal opinion). I can see my self in your position. I'm getting ready to head to work soon this helps me a lot. Thank you for sharing your day
Coral Santiago thank you so much!!!

Christina Resillez we definitely need change that is for sure. You will figure out your new normal and it's amazing how strong you can be when you need to. Just remember that no one can ever replace you and the quality of your time matters over quantity.

I keep watching this video as tomorrow I'm back to work for the first time after 5 months , first time mum! Thanks for the encouragement xxx

You're so ambitious to make this video on your first day back! I loved the montage and music in the beginning!

I cried with you! :( As a mom, I can't imagine leaving my baby so young!
I love following your vlogs. There aren't a ton of working mom videos. I'm due in 8 weeks with my second and worried about balancing it all.
Thank you!! Congrats on the new little one! I would love to say I have it figured it out, but I don't yet! We can learn together :)
I'm a stay at home mom and I could only imagine 😭 Your a strong mommy The Lord is with you!

Aw, I'm tearing up... You are very strong! I can't believe you had to go back to work when your little one is only 3 months old! 🙁 Beautiful video. I'm going back to work after 11 months mat leave, in a month, but it's only part time... I'm sad 😔
Great work Mama! You're such an encouragement and also your hair is gorgeous!!
Cara Scott thank you so much!!
I work at a college. Luckily we have a pumping room that is really calm and homey.
Thank you for this video I'm tearful right now as I'm reluctantly returning to work in three weeks and bracing myself for that time of leaving my little one for the first time.

thedodgefamily thank you so very much. God bless
Mothers in America have it so hard I can relate to this video so much and appreciate all the companies that address this issue and give paid leave. The first year I feel as though should be paid.

Hi! Thank you for vlogging this important day. Stay strong. Where do you pump? Was it the bathroom? Your babies are the cutest.

I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE MY BABY 😭😭😭 Currently she's turning 2 months she's too little but income is needed....
Such a good car speech girl! I agree with you on all of it! I have a whole video coming soon about work issues and work stuff. I can't believe that you guys get snow in May. That's so unreal compared to us. We have summertime weather already. I actually wish we got more of a winter.
Thank you friend!! xx
I have 4 weeks left from my leave, 12 weeks are not enough, It’s hard to leave a baby that’s not even able to soothe himself, they say don’t try anything before 3 months and after that I’m going back to work so how can teach him to soothe himself and have a routine when I’m working
I feel for you. I bet it is so hard leaving your baby. 💖
hope you feel better soon
x
Thank you!!
LOL Love your sign in the kitchen "I decided to order take out!" . oh gosh, how sweet is Emma "It's time to see your girls again!" I hope you all are feeling back to normal soon
LOL it's my life motto hahaha :) And yes, she is my sweet big girl!
Crying with you 💔 I'm going back to work soon. Wish I could stay longer but finances wont allow.
your so sweet and loving god bless your family 😙😚😚
I already cry thinking about having to leave my baby boy when he comes in December.. and my job only gives us 6 weeks 😭💔
That's awesome you get home early!! I used to get home at 6 :(
Thanks!! I am thankful for the schedule I have. :)
I will be going back to work in 3 weeks to come, so I understand ur struggle 😔😔😔 my firstborn is also 5 yrs old
Good luck to you!! xx
My baby is now 3 months old and I have to go back to work in 3 weeks ☹️ i have anxiety just thinking about it
This was great to so. I plan to be working mom. I make good money and more than hubby so he would be the one to stay if one of us did. We shall see. I loved watching this!
Mary Katherine 2001 I am so god that you enjoyed this! Thanks for watching
Maternity leave here in the Philippines is only 60 days for NSD and 78 for CS. Ill be back to work on November 5 😥
That is so hard but you are doing amazing.
Carina Carroll thank you!!
Here in Brasil we get 6 months maternity leave, and i still dont think it's enough. I go back next week, thursday is my first night shift 😭
Love this video
Im gna leave my 2wks old baby to hubby whose taking his paternity leave splitting it in 3 weeks. I have 3wks max for birth n recovery before returning back to uni. Shit law in London! U video made me cry coz ur baby is 3m but deep down it made me cry coz I’d be leaving mine just 2wks old. I’d probably have a mental breakdown. But it’s hard but u have to become successful it’s for the children anyways.
Just wondering if you choose to go to work or if you don't have the option to stay at home with your baby?
Beth Roper it is a bit of both. I have a whole video on this in our playlist called working mama Wednesday
tomorrow is my 1st day back after 6 months. sigh. same routine
im crying watching. us american moms don't get much time to spend with our new babies
❤️❤️❤️
It's even hard when your baby holds you tight and cry and it's like she needs you at that time..you feel so helpless.. it's really very hard..!! No one can take a mom's place and no one could ever understand what we go through everyday..but we stay strong bcuz we know we are working for the betterment of their future..!!
Yes that is so very true!! xx
i love you from Romania
here we have 2 years before go to work
I needed to hear this. Thank you
Gracee McCoy so glad it blessed you! Thanks for watching!
I only get 6 weeks :(
That is so disgusting that you only get 12 weeks 3 months old 😫I am literally in shock.
At work they only give is 6 weeks 💔💔💔💔 I am dreading going back
Callofbeauty911 if you live in the US you are legally entitled to 12 weeks off under FMLA without being fired. I know about of benefits runout after 6 but legally you can take up to 12. Sorry if you do have to go back early that's so unfortunate.
Yes I'm in Texas but I work for a small medical practice so they would need me back at 6 weeks
Callofbeauty911 I'm sorry that you are being pressured to go back soon! I took 12 weeks with both my girls and it wasn't long enough at all 👎🏻
thedodgefamily oh I bet I'm due in November and I'm having serious anxiety already
I go back to work on Monday. I only got 6 weeks. I work for the school district so luckily I got 2 more weeks with her. I am crying watching this.
My heart breaks for you this morning. God is the God of all comfort. I will pray for you throughout the day today.
Rebekah Fields-Watkins thank you!
This is so sad most new mums in the uk have a year off before having to return to work
Atleast u get to leave work early... Sigh
All the words you said in the car, ufff I should just stop watching first day to work after ML ... It's literally heartbreaking for me...
My baby will be born in 2 months and I’m already crying thinking of having to leave her with someone when I return to work
